Well that was ah, fitting??? Uncomfortable season, uncomfortable finale. I don't understand why any of the couples remained together. Strange guys. Chris, Jacob and Stepdad Eric for many reasons. Vincent and Ryan are not that far off. Chris...that entire segment seemed acted out. Or planned out. Fake and playing to the camera. Was Paige a willing accomplice? Paige comes across as an aspiring Stepford Wife. Stepdad Eric...he's a big gesture guy. Makes a big speech or splashy action and then has a "did you see what I just did there?, Pretty cool eh?". Followed by a "that went over well" sorta of chuckle. Vincent is soooooo insecure. Briana is a modern woman. They may make it but I see blow ups in their future. Ryan...won't say I love you to his wife. Whom he decided to marry sight unseen. On TV. Seems scared of sex. Fine...wait if you're not feeling it. Ryan seemed so uncomfortable even discussing it. Jacob and Haley are the only ones to make a confident decision. They are not meant to be together...emotional intelligence levels are incompatible. Lifestyle choices are polar opposites (who wouldn't judge someone for only wanted to eat steak and eggs for every meal?). I'd say Jacob can't relate to women but he doesn't seem less awkward when he's with the guys. It seems like he tries to compensate by lifting weights and having strong hobbies/interests. Human interaction seems hard.

Boy they are really milking Chris for all the drama! Paige is SO stupid! I can't believe she threw out the "god meant for this to happen" thing again. She is delusional.
I wish the couples that stayed together well!
Just looked at the guide and next week is Atlanta reunion part ONE! OMG just put it to rest already!

Did Paige say they were there for 6 hours. The experts put up with that for that long. That explains the coat on and off Chris at times. What a waste of time really.
Really there were no surprises last night but are they still together is the question. We know Ryan and Clara are since they are house hunting if that rumour was right.

I wondered why the first few couples we saw in the former church were interviewed during nighttime hours with the announcement being made that the remaining couples would be interviewed the next day. Yet, the next day during daylight hours, the three experts were all wearing the same clothes. This looked very strange. To me, it appeared the entire filming was done in one day but they chose to air the nighttime interviews before the daytime interviews, letting us think it was done over two days.
The outdoor gathering at the end was held in the "back yard" of the church, which was shown once in the background and also judging by the corrugated metal fence that we previously saw as the couples were arriving. That filming, too, seemed to take far too long going from daylight to night and was extremely cold judging by the couples huddling under blankets. It appears for Covid reasons and the number of people involved, they chose to film that segment outdoors, but they should have had heaters to make the couples comfortable.
Overall, glad this season is over.

For some reason my DVR only filmed the hour episode instead of the 2 hour version. I did not get to see the couples all meeting together, but I find I don't care enough to try to watch the 2 hour version! one hour is enough as it turns out! No surprises on decision day, thanks to the spoilers. I also am finding out that watching the unmatchables isn't for me. It's bad enough that I think some of the people chosen for MAFS should be on unmatchables instead. I think I'll stick with MAFS and Couple's Cam.

I applaud Clara and Ryan for NOT doing Couples Cam. I only wish Virginia and Erik had opted out. I can't stand him. We really only have one more couple than last season, although maybe it'll feel like two, since Bennett and Amelia were barely on last season. I think we only saw them maybe once or twice and just in the moments when all of the couples were Zooming together. It was kind of disappointing that they didn't really participate, but maybe that means they're just busy living their lives. I understand that they would want to add more episodes as the show became more popular. I mean, Decision Day in season 1 was in episode 10! For a number of seasons after that, we got 15 episodes. Last season (and maybe a few before that, I didn't check), we got 17. This season has *19* episodes! We still have TWO more episodes to go. It feels like they're just dragging this nonsense out and I'm sure we'll get more of Chris in those two episodes that we ever wanted to see. I think for many of us, a few episodes worth of Chris was more than enough. I would have been thrilled if Paige had air-locked him the moment he announced he'd gotten another woman pregnant. I feel less sorry for Paige the longer this goes on. There are even rumors that they kept getting back together and splitting up LONG after Decision Day. Sorry, but why on earth would she think anything with him was going to go differently? He's scum. I even read rumors somewhere that Mercedes was never pregnant. I hate to be so cynical, but I'd believe anything negative about him. I think two of the three couples who stayed married will likely make it. I just don't think Erik and Virginia will last. Beyond just the major differences between them, I think they aren't good communicators and they seem to shy away from difficult conversations. That only works for so long and then you have to deal with things. Otherwise, they just fester. I think it's pretty clear that they edited Ryan to make him seem super cold and monotone because he was all smiles and laughter in those lighter, unedited moments. He seems pretty smitten with Clara and I think he's in love with her, even if he's not ready to say it out loud. Jake just showed himself to be a spiteful jerk again. Haley tries to be nice, even in the middle of them splitting up and he spews out some snotty remark. I'd guess that he did the same thing on the honeymoon. No matter what she said, he just refused to believe that she had not ditched him to spend time with the other couples (vs. the other wives). We know from Unfiltered that the wives were together and a few of the husbands showed up and spent some time with them (maybe just Ryan and Erik?). It wasn't planned. He said she could have just said she needed a break from him, but I'm sure he'd have been just as much of a jerk if she'd said that. She's not perfect either, but he's an a-hole who lashes out whenever his feelings get hurt. He definitely needs to get into therapy to get to the point where he doesn't carry around every previous failed relationship on his back.
I'm watching Unmatchables, but sometimes it's just too cringey. The girl who does everything, including eat meals, while sitting on the toilet?

Residency then a possible fellowship for specialization training. Board Certified would be next. I admire the people who choose this profession and the time involved. Many start families while they're on this long road. Gotta be hard.

I finally watched this week's episode of Unmatchables and GOOD GRIEF, where do they find these people!? First, we have the guy who talks about himself in the third person and has an alter ego. Then we have a woman who's never been on a date because, among MANY other things, she worries about being judged. Then, by the end of the date, she's showing the guy lingerie and nude photos of herself? WTH? That was just bizarre.
The only part I enjoy is Dr. Viviana and Pastor Cal watching and reacting to it.
The other week ago, there was that woman who was so ultra critical of everything. I think her date was right that she could die alone. It was a mean thing to say, but she's mean. She didn't have one nice thing to say about anyone. When they did that little dating game, she really thought that one guy was pretty great until she found out what he did for a living.
I'm sure there are plenty of semi-normal people who apply for MAFS and they're finding the most extreme cases for Unmatcahables, but still. I can't imagine wanting to be on a show with that title!
I'm actually happy that Bennett and Amelia aren't on Couples Cam. It probably means they're living their lives and just too busy to film themselves or come up with stupid stuff to film. I like seeing what the couples are doing, but I also think (for most, not all), it's healthier for a relationship to NOT be on TV all the time.
Funny that the rumors about Shawniece and Jephte splitting up seemed to go nowhere. They're set to be on CC and, while there was a bit there where neither of them were on the other's Insta, Jephte posted a video the other day of them with Laura. I hope that drama a while back was just a little blip and that they're doing okay now. I like both of them and it seemed like they'd worked out their issues and were doing better.

UGH. (I feel like I say that a lot in this thread! ) Chris SUCKS (I feel like I've said that a lot too! ) I love that Pastor Dwight totally has Chris' number. As soon as he said Chris couldn't take criticism, there's Chris proving it. I read a rumor that Chris won't be in next week's episode. I really hope that's true. I'm sick to death of him. Yay for Ryan finally telling Clara that he loves her! Like she said, he showed how he felt long before he said it. The producers really short-changed us with those two. I think they had a lot more fun together than we ever saw. They just decided that the story for that couple would be all about sex and "I love you." I'm glad Erik saw how he came across on TV and wants to make a change, but I still don't think he's NOT controlling. Time will tell. Vincent and Briana look like they're doing great. His issue with her teasing him was exactly what I thought it was - he just didn't want to be embarrassed at all. It sounds like he's over that and understands that he overreacted. They looked really happy together. NOT looking forward to seeing Jake and Haley next week. He can be SO rude and snappish. She just seems over it and like she's moved on. There's one of those questions from a random page on FB that was something like, "The cast of the most recent TV show/movie you watched is planning your upcoming wedding. Who is it?" A friend of mine answered, "MAFS!" If it was Clara or Briana, I think she's be okay. Jake? Totally screwed!

Sooooo...Chris is the son of a Minister/Pastor. Chris had thoughts about opening up his own Ministry/PastorY? Yeah...I don't get it. Money? Certainly doesn't seem like a "holy" fella. What a donkey. Paige??????? Seriously, when is enough, enough? Did Paige learn about herself watching the show?
Stepdad Erik is controlling. I understand Virginia attempting to walk that back but Erik is ole' timey conservative. Erik's facial expressions do me in. It's like he practices in a mirror.
Whether Clara and Ryan have more personality than what was shown...Ryan is still scared of sex lol
From the previews, Jake needs a slap.

Haley's not blameless in this either, but he is just nasty to her. I've seen comments online about how both of them would have been fine with other spouses, but I don't think that's true in his case. I think he came into it with a TON of baggage from previous relationships that he would have unpacked all over whoever he got matched with. Maybe Haley hasn't been in a relationship in a while and can be judgmental, but I think she would have been fine with a guy who wasn't so rigid and defensive. I think she found him attractive physically. It was just his personality that she had a problem with. Same. He's a nice looking guy, but he's a jerk.
I don't think Ryan's uptight about sex. I think he probably just doesn't want to talk about his sex life on camera.
Yeah, I'm over it with Paige too, although I find Chris to be absolutely repugnant. I wondered what the other ladies say about Paige amongst themselves when a camera isn't recording them. It felt like they were trying to be very diplomatic. I'm sure at least a few of them wanted to give her a good shaking to wake her up. I'm with (I think it was) Virginia, who said that, as soon as she heard about the pregnant ex, she would have been out of there.

The finale hasn't aired here yet, but I had to share a spoiler from MAFS Fan on Insta:
{Spoiler} Someone in Atlanta claimed that Virginia has been living in their apartment complex for several weeks, but they've never seen Erik. MAFS Fan confirmed that she heard a few weeks ago that Erik had kicked Virginia out of his condo. Apparently, they still spend time together, but what that relationship actually IS is not clear. I hope this really is the last we ever see of scumbag Chris. May he fall into a hole and disappear forever!

Does Jacob remind anyone of Bull from Night Court? Jacob's flashback scenes positively confirmed every thought I had about him during the season. "So do you like me now?"..."How about now?"..'Now?" Incredibly off-putting. The "you are a liar" moment was, I believe, a week in? Another thing that he constantly did was voice what he believed Haley was thinking, her motivation. "She hated me", "She despised me", "She didn't like me", "She didn't want anything to do with me'. Jacob said he doesn't take himself too seriously. I disagree. I believe that Jacob takes himself extremely seriously, just because you have an 80's Hobby/Quirk doesn't make you easy going. He crafted a persona for himself..."80's Guy", Weightlifter Guy, Eats Only Steak and Eggs Guy, Back Garden turned Beach guy, "Fun" t-shirt Guy. After it's all done, glad I don't have to watch him/hear him again. The "experts" were hard on Haley but I don't blame her at all, can't believe she saw it through to the end. And my imagination still runs wild thinking about what's behind the closed doors in his basement..."IT PUTS THE LOTiON IN THE BASKET!"
Stepdad Erik, is still Stepdad Erik.
