After watching the video of Colton's break up with Tia, I'm a little sick to my stomach thinking of poor co-dependent, "I want to make everyone happy and kept playing football because that's what people expected of me" Colton trying to deal with datimg all those women. I see major meltdowns ahead on his part.
This boy (and he is a boy underneath it all) is so not prepared to have a serious relationship with anyone. I feel sorry for him and for any of the women who are actually looking for love. But for everyone else, let the good times roll.

He's going to be ok. He went through Becca's season, and he watched her let go of people at every rose ceremony. He went through that whole bruising thing with Tia. They will also coach him which is what is happening right now. If they think it becomes necessary, they will have him talk to former Bachelors to help him understand how to work through the process.
They will also instill the mantra in him that we hear from every one of them, "This is about finding the person that is there for me at the end of this."

Why Colton? Why not Jason who so many people really liked and admired? Why not Blake whose heart was broken and deserves a chance?
Chris Harrison has spoken out in an interview and explained why Colton was chosen, and it is because "Colton is good TV".
It boils down to STORY - they don't really care whether it is good or bad; they want substance (meat) that they can work with to build a story and make good TV, entertainment.
Jason is a great guy, but there wasn't a lot of meat there for a story ( something to stir up talk and controversy).
They have the virgin issue with Colton; they have the Tia issue - and they sent him to BIP to flesh that one out - now they can milk all of this in a (controversial) story that will stir up talk which is good for ratings.
Chris Harrison did admit that he knew fans were not particularly happy with their choice, but he says they made their choice out of 3 choices for the best reason, and it is going to be a good season.

He says Colton is too worried about being liked and pleasing everyone. As a result, Dean thinks Colton's season is going to be a dumpster fire. That is pretty much what Nick and Ben said in another interview. They also think it will be a difficult season for Colton and the producers. Lots of tears.

Oh, remember that small house set up as sort of a western-type setting. Deanna stayed there while the guys were in the house, and one time, a bachelor (can't remember who) stayed there as well. That house was closer to the road if I remember.

I got it backward on Deana's season. The guys stayed in the small house with bunkbeds and an outdoor shower. Remember when she visited them for a barbeque? Probably not, but there it is. Happy the big house was saved.

I saw an ad last night with Colton rolling around with a bunch of puppies and the tag line was something like: this time he's looking for more than puppy love. I.JUST.CAN'T.
