Ha! Thanks for starting a thread! I'm glad I'm not the only one watching. I just stayed up all night and am watching for a second time. I loved it. Especially the American priest making all those stuffy royals uncomfortable! That might have been the first time they sat through a church service where they priest quoted MLK. I loved Meghan's sly smile through his sermon. I thought the gown was perfect, she was gorgeous (although that one strand off hair in her face drove me crazy!) and he looked so handsome in his uniform. That dress had a little Arthurian vibe, I thought. Very romantic, but also modern. The veil was spectacular. I loved the moment when she took Charles' arm as she came down and aisle and when Harry thanked his father. The little ones were so precious and that one page's face as they were about to enter the church was a hoot. As a fan of Suits, I loved seeing the cast there looking fabulous. Gina Torres (Jessica) and Sarah Rafferty (Donna) looked particularly spectacular, as they always do on the show. Gabriel Macht proved once again that he can WEAR A SUIT. Abigail Spencer looked darling too. I usually think Troian Bellisario (Patrick J. Adams' gf) looks fantastic, but her outfit was sort of blah and literally beige. Ick. The commentators exclaimed that Amal Clooney seemed to bring her own light. It was that freaking yellow dress! I wondered if the Queen picked that color so people could see her in the pictures. She's done that in the past and it always makes me laugh. My favorite dress/outfit was Kitty Spencer in that fabulous green and floral number. Just stunning! The music was lovely, although "Stand By Me" felt a bit cliche. Loved the choir, but wish it was a different song. At least it wasn't "Imagine," which gets rolled out far too frequently. That cellist was otherwordly. I cannot believe he's only 19! I wonder how long we have to wait for them to do a balcony wave....or are they not doing that? All the cracks about Victoria Beckham's sourpuss had me in stitches. I think we're soul mates. LOL All of your favorite things were mine, too. I loved the priest's sermon and the uncomfortable looks. (I would have preferred that they not be uncomfortable, but I loved that they got caught being so judgmental. My opinion of Kate went down with those smirks, though.) The look on that page's face was delightful, and you're the only other person I've seen mention it. Kitty Spencer's dress was my favorite, too. I kept seeing pictures with her in the background of other people's pictures and was so happy when I finally saw one about her. I'm so sad that I didn't realize that you all were talking about the wedding here. I was watching all alone and looking for someone to talk with about it. (I hadn't planned to watch it live, but I woke up at exactly the time the cars started arriving and couldn't resist. ) I actually looked for a conversation on the old site but not much was happening, and I didn't think to look here.

/photo/1 Best Royal photo bomb! I'm so happy that you posted that. His expression when the music started up was one of my favorite things, and I hadn't seen a picture of it before this.

Me too. His jaw dropping. SO CUTE. You know he just became a little media star like the little bridesmaid in William and Catherine's wedding who was so grumpy and holding her hands over her ears!

His grandfather was our PM... My favourite part was watching all the little ones, his twin brother was the one waving madly in the car with Meghan..

Totally. As soon as I saw the crowds in Windsor, I hoped someone would do a side-by-side with the Trump inaugural. I was not disappointed!

I stayed up and watched on BBC America. It was the perfect day for a wedding and everyone looked lovely, for the most part.
What was UP with Victoria Beckham? Some places described her outfit as a deep navy blue, but it looked black, almost like a funeral dress. Then, to make matters worse, she had a sourpuss look on her face whenever they filmed her! Her husband looked hot as hell though. :D
Idris Elba's girlfriend: No. Just No. That Gucci sweater dress was too casual, and tacky to boot. However, the shoes were nice, and I want a pair.
The two Spencer ladies looked wonderful!
Meghan looked luminous. Whoever did her makeup made did a wonderful job. Prince Harry couldn't take his eyes off her. I love how Prince Charles made a point of making her mother feel welcome and included. And I'm especially glad that her dad and her horrible half-siblings were unable to ruin her day.

I think I read that both her hair stylist and makeup artist have been with her since Suits filming. I loved her makeup. It looked as though she had only her eyes done. Later when she is getting in the car to go to the evening reception, you could see rouge on her cheeks.

Victoria Beckham always seems to have the sourpuss look. It seems to me that she thinks too highly of herself.
I can't wait for all the ex-gf memes.

I didn’t stay up but I have seen the pics. Looks like a nice wedding. Her dress was nice enough but it said that it cost something like 200,000 dollars which is ridiculous and I don’t see how.

Oh, I just learned some fascinating news close to home...the baker of the cake and I attended the same college. This is my 50th graduation anniversary (which I won't be able to attend) but she has focused and been creative in her life.

Well, there won't be another one for some time, at least not of this magnitude! Pretty much! Some second marriages don't tend to last, but I hope they do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Plus, if that price included that exquisite veil, it was a steal! All that embroidery - flowers from all 53 nations in the Commonwealth. The mind boggles. That dress was double bonded silk cady and it fit perfectly (I read there were six seams and they were perfect). It's easy to hide any mistakes in a more fussy dress, but in one with a sleek, simple line like that, every little error shows. It was beautifully made.
I really wanted to buy a tin of Fortnum and Mason's special tea for the wedding, but it was like $40+ a tin. I drank the Wedding Blend they created for William and Catherine's wedding instead! It was only around $15 a tin and I already had some. I was really regretting not buying some crumpets when I stopped by Trader Joe's the other day!
The shots of them in the carriage after the wedding were major fairy tale territory. What beautiful weather they had! Reminds me of how, for many years on New Years Day, the weather for the Rose Parade is stunning. I'm sure people in colder, wetter parts of the country think, "If it's like that in Pasadena in January, maybe I'll move there!" It's totally NOT like that all the time - it can be wet and cold there too and SMOGGY a lot of the time, but it's like Pasadena spiffs itself up for the cameras! The BBC commentators talked about how choosing a May wedding date in Windsor was a gamble, but it definitely paid off. It was a gorgeous day!
I can't get over how cute that page was when the music started as they were entering the church. The missing teeth made it even better!

I loved her choice of flowers; the arches were breathtaking and the touch of soft green paired beautifully with her mother's pistachio ensemble. On Friday Harry picked forget-me-nots out of their private garden which were put in Meghan's bouquet. After the wedding, flowers from the chapel were made into arrangements and taken to hospice patients. link
And how cute were the tails on the page boys' suits?!

I was pleased that in Meghan's father's statement about the wedding (in which he expressed his love for his daughter and his disappointment at not being there), he scolded his own family and told them to keep quiet. There were rumors over the last few days that a certain prominent family (*winkwink*) paid off several media outlets who'd scheduled interviews with some money-grabbing members of Meghan's family. POOF, those interviews were mysteriously canceled. Serves them right. SO low class. Seems she was dead-right to want nothing to do with them.
I did feel sad that her mom sat by herself, although it sounds like the royals did a nice job of welcoming her. She looked absolutely lovely.
I've watched on and off all day as they keep rerunning highlights and I continue to be just in AWE of that cellist. Only 19? He's incredible.

Interesting tidbit, Critical. I didn't know that. But I did wonder why we hadn't heard anything from that side of her family.

Various Markle relatives have shown up here and there. IIRC, one was on a show with Piers Morgan and he really hammered her. Now, I'm no Piers Morgan fan, but going on a TV show to say nasty things about your family member qualifies you for "terrible person" status. Can't remember if it was a sister or what. She's had a few (half, I think) siblings come out in the press and say nasty things about her. One sister was planning on writing a book, but it looks like that's gone away. Total classless money grabbers.
Maybe Meghan wasn't a perfect princess growing up, but who was? Maybe she made mistakes. Don't we all by the time we're in our mid-30s? Plus, look at Harry! The Nazi uniform at Halloween, the naked romp in Vegas. He's had a colorful life that didn't follow the official royal behavior playbook either and I don't think that makes him a bad person - it makes him human. They seem really happy and in love, so good for them!

She has an older half sister and older half brother. Both have been on money grabs. It was this sister who was/is writing the book and got slammed by Morgan. She is the one who said she told her Dad to pull off the paparazzi photos because he was being harassed by photographers.
It is just as well her Dad stayed home as the controversy and negative family juice would have followed him. Apparently the half-brother's ex-wife and son were going to travel to the wedding site to be onlookers...not looking for recognition. But, then, why travel?
Weird business; but her Mom was lovely in demeanor and dress.
