Thanks, Fanny. So it looks like there's never likely to be an occasion where he wears red like the others unless he's given a commission for which that's the uniform.

Does anyone know why Harry's uniform for state occasions is black (or dark blue) instead of the red that Andrew, Charles, Phillip, and William wear? Does it have to do with position within the royal family, or is it a matter of seniority within the armed service branch he's in? In the commentary leading up to the wedding there was speculation that he'd wear the uniform for the role he took over from Prince Phillip last year since it's higher ranking than the uniform that he ended up wearing. When he was seen on the day in the black they commented it's the dress uniform of the regiment(?) he served with in Afganistan. For some reason I also think I heard somewhere it's his favorite. I like that he picked that one because it is the one he earned in service. Not that it's not okay to wear an honorary one, but it makes sense that he's proud of that accomplishment .
I watched the wedding on PBS, and that's what the commentators said. Harry could have given himself a promotion by wearing an honorary uniform. However, he chose to show solidarity with his men by wearing the dress uniform of the regiment with which he actively served. That's one reason I love Harry!

Yes, I heard the same thing, and that he felt it was an 'honor' to wear that uniform to his wedding. Although I haven't totally forgiven Harry for some of his very bad choices in life (like his wearing the Nazi uniform one Halloween several years ago) -- I do respect his service in the military and his choice of uniform for his wedding.

It was over 13 years ago (around January 2005), when he was 20. I feel like he's done enough in his life since then to deserve a little forgiveness over being a stupid, thoughtless kid.

With the dress that Meghan is wearing today it feels like Meghan is telling the world she heard we were in an uproar over her shoulder baring looks!

I love seeing the Queen so happy! Not a huge fan of Meghan's dress. When she sits, the lining shows and although the cape top is pleasing, there's just something not quite right about it over the pencil skirt dress. I hope her wardrobe assistant steps up their game because she's a lovely girl!

Looks like the duchess has learned to cover her mouth so that lip readers don't know what she's laughing about. Smart!

I like her dress. I don't feel every single thing she wears should be analyzed & criticized, unless it really is inappropriate. She, like all the other Royals, clearly has wardrobe assistants or guides. But every single thing isn't going please everybody. I like the apparent relationship between the new Duchess & the Queen. With everything & everyone in the Queen's life being so proper, and sometimes stuffy, I have a feeling she's enjoying the more relaxed atmosphere with her new Grand Daughter In Law. Kind of like what I've read she has with William & Harry. The Queen may see this as a breath of fresh air to be treated like a person rather than a Queen, although I'm sure there's plenty of respect too. Americans in general are like that.

I'm wondering about Phillip..he hasn't been seen since the wedding, has he? I thought he looked quite frail at the wedding. He's 97. Looking frail & not being active, or even out much is pretty normal at this point.

I hate to say it, but I didn't like the dress either. Those cape dresses look great if you're standing up straight and posing on a red carpet. Unfortunately, when you lean forward or bend down even a little or even hold your arms forward a bit, you look like you're slouching. In this contest, with Meghan leaning down to talk to people and in showing deference to the Queen, she did look like she was slouching and I'm sure she wasn't. It just creates an unflattering silhouette. I love that color on her, but the cape dress just wasn't as flattering as another style would have been. Even a short-sleeved, belted dress in the same color would have been terrific. She's got a perfect figure - and good posture - so it was the dress that was problematic and not her body.
I love that the Queen seems to be taking Meghan under her wing and showing her the ropes. That can only be a good thing. Coming into the situation, she was already comfortable with being in the public eye, but learning all the ins and outs of royal etiquette is a different thing. It seems like they really do have a nice relationship.

Hopefully she'll get involved in Meghan's wardrobe choices. Her lace dress with chunky heels ensemble is so pretty!

Not a fan of the dress, either. Maybe it looks better when she doesn't have to hold it closed.

I think the combination of the fabric and style just don't work for a wedding. The fabric would have been fine if the style of the dress had been more tailored and formal. The style of the dress would have been fine with a more luxurious fabric, most likely in a solid color, or a more contemporary print. But the two combined look like a dress that just could not decide what it wanted to be, and as a result Meghan gets lost in it.

The dress looks way too baggy on her. She has a nice petite little figure, and this dress doesn't do any justice.

Thomas Markle needs to learn to keep his mouth shut. If, indeed, Harry did say any of those things, I'm pretty sure he wasn't planning on having his future father-in-law repeat them on British television. What a jerk! (I've been willing to give him the benefit of the doubt in situations where he was being quoted, but this is all right there coming out of his mouth, so he gets no breaks from me.) Needing to feel important is a dangerous quality in a friend or relative of someone in public life.

Seriously. I don't think any of the Markles, with the exception of her mom, are credible. They all seem to want to make a buck on her.

Yeah. I'm beginning to think that there was some truth to the quiet rumor that he was uninvited to the wedding, and the heart attack story was put out there for him to save face. I don't blame Meaghan if that was the case.
