Adam Levine
Coach
Adam Levine returns for the 15th season as a coach on the four-time Emmy Award-winning NBC hit series "The Voice."
As the frontman of Grammy Award-winning recording group Maroon 5, Levine has left an indelible mark on popular music. The primary songwriter for the band and a guitar player, Levine's talents give Maroon 5 its signature sound. His heartfelt ballads and pop anthems have become part of the fabric of today's pop music scene.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Levine first connected with Maroon 5 members Jesse Carmichael and Mickey Madden while attending Brentwood School in Los Angeles. The band has since gone on to have massive critical and commercial success worldwide, including a Top 40 record that boasts a total of nine No. 1 hits among pop groups.
Maroon 5's discography features a succession of five multi-platinum studio albums that have resulted in more than 35 million in sales, three Grammys and 12 Grammy nominations, as well as gold and platinum certifications in more than 35 countries. In 2011, Levine was the first artist to have a No. 1 Top 40 hit with Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger" while simultaneously having another Top 10 solo hit on the Billboard chart with "Stereo Hearts" (when he guested with Gym Class Heroes, which later went on to be No. 1). Shortly after, Levine remarkably hit No. 1 again when he was featured on "Locked Away" by R. City.
Levine and Maroon 5 released their sixth studio album, "Red Pill Blues," in late 2017 via 222/Interscope. The album, executive produced by J. Kash and Levine, features special guest appearances by SZA, Julia Michaels, A$AP Rocky and LunchMoney Lewis. The debut single, "What Lovers Do" (featuring SZA), introduced the band's latest body of work with a proverbial bang, accumulating more than 574 million Spotify streams and 252 million YouTube/VEVO views. The band's previous single was the highly anticipated track "Wait," which has quickly climbed up the Top 40 radio chart and has already clocked over 134 million streams.
"Girls Like You" (featuring Cardi B), Maroon 5's newest hit, has quickly risen to the top of the charts. The single has sat at No. 1 on the Top 40, No. 1 on Adult Pop, No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and reached No. 1 on iTunes and Spotify, all while accumulating almost 300 million Spotify streams and 730 million YouTube/ VEVO views. Maroon 5 will kick off the second leg of the band's U.S. run of their world tour with special guest Julia Michaels on September 7 and kick off their international run in February 2019.
Outside of Maroon 5, Levine has recently broadened his entertainment résumé to include both TV and film roles. In addition to "The Voice," his other TV credits include "American Horror Story: Asylum," "Family Guy" and "30 Rock."
Levine was cast in a major role in director John Carney's 2015 film "Begin Again," co-starring Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo. He also performed the film's theme song, "Lost Stars," which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. Levine later partnered once again with Carney to co-write the song "Go Now," featured on the soundtrack for Carney's 2016 critically acclaimed movie "Sing Street."
Levine was recently announced as the ambassador for Y, the latest masculine fragrance launched by YSL.
