Watch one and then the other!
Have you read the Michael Connelly series that Bosch is based on? Maybe that's why you don't like Harry? As a longtime fan of those books, I find it shocking that someone doesn't love him like I do. He's one of my favorite (if not my favorite) fictional detectives and Connelly is one of the masters of the genre.
No, I haven't read the book so you're right, maybe that's the difference. My dad read the Michael Connelly books and he loves the series. I think maybe it's the actor that's turning me off too. No expressions on his face at all? Barely makes eye contact with anyone? I think that's the difference. Everyone I know who's read and loves the books LOVES Titus Welliver as Bosch. I know I do. It makes up for that movie with the horribly miscast Clint Eastwood.

I haven't read the Bosch series (yet!), but I love Titus Welliver as the title character. I just finished season 2 and can't imagine another actor playing him now.

He actually played another Connelly character, Terry McCaleb in Blood Work, which was a terrible miscast. Much like Matthew McConaughey as Mickey Haller in The Lincoln Lawyer (he and Bosch are half brothers). Terrible casting. I HIGHLY recommend the Bosch books - actually, I recommend ALL of Connelly's books. I have a real fondness for them because they're set in LA, but they're also just really excellent crime fiction. Connelly used to live full time in SoCal (I think he's at least half the time in FL now) and my mom would go to every book signing he had at their local Barnes and Noble and get me a signed first. I have a bunch of them, thanks to her!

I just want to go out and literally smash any Lincoln auto I see based on those commercials. I have never had such a visceral reaction to a commercial.

So I just got Hulu and am binging The Handmaid's Tale since about last Friday. I took yesterday off from work and am about halfway through Season 2. I was going to watch an episode each morning before logging in for work from home, but last night, I just wanted to curl up in a ball and cry. My boss says keep watching, so I hope that something halfway positive happens soon. don't spoil me, please.
I may take a few days off from this one and watch Making the Cut on Amazon

It's better to space out the episodes.

It's better to space out the episodes. I think that is a fabulous idea. After working from home for 7 weeks now and trying to do the work of multiple people after the furloughs, I am already a bit down. I love the DH, but I really need to interact face to face with other humans. I may just watch one episode a day. Or even every other day going forward.

I’m taking the advice shared here and slowing down a bit. It’s intense. I’m hoping something halfway positive happens soon too.

I watched Ally McBeal all day. That show was insanely funny. Oh, good idea! I loved that show back in the day. That is something I can have on while working. There are some shows (General Hospital, Real Housewives of anywhere) that I can easily have on while working, and others (This is Us, The Handmaid's Tale) that I absolutely have to watch when I can sit in front of the TV and pay attention to what is going on Ally McBeal is on Netflix? Hulu?

Due to lack of anything interesting I ended up binging all of Perfect Harmony.. I have to say it started off slow and super campy the first few shows but I ended up really kinda liking it by the end of the season. I am sure it will not be back as they haven't announced anything on it yet. I also plowed thru 85% of Blood and Treasure (can we tell I am cleaning off my DVR) it was fun, nothing to amazing, but I also kind of liked it as well.

Hulu has a new show called The Great about Katherine The Great. It is good stuff. A lot of F bombs but funny & dramatic at the same time. Elle Fanning stars. All 10 episodes are available, I have seen the 1st 2 of them so far.

The Xfinity Watchathon is on until tomorrow night, so I'm watching shows on the channels I don't have. I finished up the current season off Outlander and now I'm mining Acorn TV for Aussie shows. Right now I'm watching Winter with Rebecca Gibney, who I loved on Hunted (excellent show kind of like Thelma and Louise). This is a detective/homicide show. Very well done. Not a very long series, so I'll be able to fit in at least one more short series before tomorrow night.

Besides watching more movies the past few days thanks to HBO and Cinemax being free this week, I've been watching Revenge all day today.
ABC had a real golden age about a decade ago with hourlong shows, like Revenge, Boston Legal, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Ugly Betty, Lost, Pushing Daisies, Once Upon A Time... I loved Pan Am too, I wish it had lasted more than one season.
(Although I must admit I've never watched Gray's Anatomy all that much)

I took advantage of the Watchathon week to watch all of Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu. I started out loving it and thought the primary story was really intriguing. By the end, it had somewhat lost its luster for me, and I had the same problems with it that friends had with the book - which kept me from ever reading it. I thought that it got lost with too many side stories and a little too much drama. But it did keep me watching to the end.
I also was able to watch a season and a half of Shrill which I thought was delightful ... though not great enough to get me to subscribe to Hulu!

Finished the Handmaid's Tale season 3. The last season was not nearly as depressing. All the feels in that last episode!!
Now watching (does it count as a binge if there is only one season yet?) Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist. I need something much lighter to watch now. Love this show

Game of Thrones - I am on a HBO kick for some reason and I had already seen all of the seasons when they were on but it was SOOO long between seasons that I missed a lot/forget things. So, watching it all back to back made more sense and I was able to pick up on things that tied to later seasons. I never read the books so nothing to compare it to, but I still enjoyed it immensely. Wished the final season was a little more satisfying with the Cersai/Jamie storyline but oh well. Arya is a beast.

I realized how much I'd forgotten!
I'm making my way through season one of Alias. Not sure if I'll keep going or not. I loved the show, but watching it back is reminding me of the problems with the whole Rambaldi mythology than ran through the whole series. Still totally in awe of the work Jennifer Garner did with that character. She's a total badass. Watching it back is also reminding me of how much I wanted to reach through the TV and smack Will (Bradley Cooper) as he kept investigating Daniel's murder.

Glad to see I am not the only one tackling older shows this weekend, hehe. I finally finished The Originals, which I have to say I liked FAR more than The Vampire diaries. TO made Nik a far more likable character than he was in TVD. TVD had so many characters I just did not like over time one being Elana and the other Stefan, but I really liked Bonnie and Enzo so that balanced it out. I just stared Legacies now, not sure how I feel but I am only 6 episodes or so in, time will tell.
I did manage to fit in The Great on Hulu too. Interesting take on the rise of Catherine the Great, but I did enjoy it.

I can't bring myself to watch The Great. My emphasis in college was Russian and Eastern European History, so I'm a stickler for accuracy. Couldn't watch that Helen Mirren HBO series about Catherine because I read a very critical article about it that was written by a Russian historian. I'm sure the Hulu series is good, but I don't think I'd be able to enjoy it. I guess I'm just a snob about certain things, but historical inaccuracies, in particular, bug me and pull me right out of what I'm watching and I can't enjoy it.
FireWoman - I think so many of us are stressed, so watching something familiar is comforting. I've been re-watching series and watching new things that are less demanding. I find I can't read anything too dense either. My brain just can't absorb it.

I do not blame you for not being able to watch historical works that do play fast and loose with the facts, I lovvve historical dramas but the ones that tend to look at specific people or events that do stray from the facts will annoy me as well but that being said I took The Great with a grain of salt.. well the whole shaker if we are being honest. I would find my self saying, oft out loud to only the demon cat, 'that never happened' but laughing as well because it was funny overall. If you were focused on Russian and European history.. yeah it will pain you to watch in that respect but it was a well done show and the acting was very good.

Thank the deities that Community is on Netflix. After they did their reunion table read this past week, I started watching episodes for the first time since it was still on TV. I haven't spontaneously laughed out loud like that, episode after episode, in quite a while.
Here's the table read they did this past week (adult language):

It was harder for me to watch The Crown once I knew how fast and loose they were playing with timelines of when events happened as to when they portrayed them.
Embellishing a story is one thing, altering historical facts is another. I am finding I don't enjoy stories as much when I find out how much is not based on reality. I was super disappointed when I researched The Butler. I enjoyed the movie until I found out they invented a second son that never existed.

I've taken a break from Alias for a while (maybe too intense to binge massive amounts of episodes at once) and switched to Skin Wars. It's just light and fun and I'm enjoying, in season 2, seeing the jerky misogynists get the boot! Probably more than I ever wanted to know about body painting, but at least no one is being murdered and assaulted or cheated on
