MFWalkoff - I felt the exact same way. I just loved it. I thought Victor was the perfect successor to the "Love" series. I like that they created a very different situation from Simon's and I'm curious to see how his parents take the news of his coming out next season. I mean, even though Simon was worried about coming out, I feel like there wasn't really any doubt that his family would accept him. With Victor, that's less certain....or at least they'll have a harder time of it, especially his father and grandfather.

I also like how {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Mia was a sympathetic character the whole season, but with the way everything was revealed and she ran to Andrew as a result, they could become a problem for Victor in season 2, almost like a villain couple if she doesn't forgive him.

I'm a big fan of British series, so we've been bingeing several during the lockdown. But yesterday - in a gesture of kindness to my poor husband - I said, "Let's watch that 'Jack Ryan' series on Amazon Prime. We both like John Krazinski."
We're on episode 6 so far, and really liking it. Some hard-to-believe stuff, but JK makes it all okay.

One of the best shows on HBO, Oz.

Yes! Oz was an amazing show but I found it hard to binge-watch. It's such a heavy show, if that makes sense.

I've been watching "The Great" on Hulu, and am really enjoying it. It's loosely based on Catherine The Great's story in Russia, but it doesn't take itself very seriously, at all. It's funny, gross, campy, beautiful, and I find it compelling. It took me a bit to get over the history part (because it's only "occasionally" accurate, as it says), since I like history, but they won me over. The actress who plays Catherine, Elle Fanning, is charming and the Peter character is horrible, but he does it well! From Hulu: The Great is a satirical, comedic drama about the rise of Catherine the Great from outsider to the longest reigning female ruler in Russia's history. A fictionalized, fun and anachronistic story of an idealistic, romantic young girl, who arrives in Russia for an arranged marriage to the mercurial Emperor Peter. Hoping for love and sunshine, she finds instead a dangerous, depraved, backward world that she resolves to change. All she has to do is kill her husband, beat the church, baffle the military and get the court onside. A very modern story about the past which encompasses the many roles she played over her lifetime as lover, teacher, ruler, friend, and fighter. Incorporating historical facts occasionally, the series stars Elle Fanning as Catherine, Nicholas Hoult, Phoebe Fox, Adam Godley, Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Douglas Hodge, Sacha Dhawan, Sebastian de Souza, Bayo Gbadamosi and Belinda Bromilow.

Zero Zero Zero - Amazon Prime only one season. Story is about a what happens to all parties involved in the drug smuggling of a troubled journey of a large shipment of cocaine. The buyers, sellers and then brokers have to deal with the consequences... Very violent but well done. Eight episodes, quickly binged them all. FYI there are subtitles in some story lines. Highly recommend.

I watched The Capture on Peacock the other day. Great cast, including Holliday Granger. It started out more like a legal/procedural drama, but turned into a lot more.
Now I'm in the middle of The Reckoning on Netflix. Starring Sam Trammel and Aden Young (from one of my all-time favorite series, Rectify). One of them is a serial killer. One of them is a cop. Is it the same "one?" You don't really find out for several episodes.
I finished the latest season of Sugar Rush last night and I'm going to start Umbrella Academy next.

I binged on something odd this weekend... I got sucked into a YouTube vortex while looking for a video, and I ended up binge-watching a bunch of interviews and episodes of The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. That show was so unique, and loose, and he's very, very funny.

I don't know how I missed both of these, I loved Community for the most part.. the last season was kinda meh so I think it ended at a good time. I am on season 3 of WE, and am DVRing season 4, so far I like it I mean how can I not love something that my original Anne shows up in?!? Gawd I love me some Megan Fellows.

Schitt's Creek - Yes, yes and more yes. How am I just now finding this? Hubby and I binged watched the first three seasons this weekend and will be finishing the rest of the series this week thru weekend. Hilarious show about a very wealthy family who loses all their money and ends up living in a town that they purchased years ago. The crazy antics between the locals and the family is belly busting laughter riot. I love me some Catherine O'Hara and Eugene Levy. If you liked the movies Best in Show or Mighty Wind then you will love this show. The son is my favorite character. If you want a good laugh in the midst of this crap going on in the world, this is a must watch.

Dark. After getting engrossed in a few episodes I've decided that I love it! Weird time travel, missing kids, and the following observations:
a) The kids are NOT alright, and b) Almost every adult in this is living foul in some way
Best of all, I can pick out various German words and phrases now. My lessons are working!

I just finished Mrs America on Hulu. I thought it was really well done. It could have easily gone down a path of "good" and "bad" characters, but they really dug in to make all the characters multi-layered and interesting. Cate Blanchett was fantastic.
Now, I'm taking advantage of how little new content there is and after years of saying I need to I have finally started The Wire.

The Old-ish shows are great for watching while working from home. If I have seen it before, I don't have to pay really close attention while working. Since working from home, I have watched Parenthood start to finish, Ally McBeal start to finish and am have gone totally Old School and watching The Wonder Years. Next up will be either Desperate Housewives or Brothers and Sisters I had at one point started rewatching Game of Thrones, got halfway through season 2 and realized I wasn't getting any work done

That show was so unique, and loose, and he's very, very funny. What I loved about Craig's show is that, especially in the later years, he really focused on guests he wanted to talk to. He had no patience for vapid starlets who couldn't hold a conversation. I also loved that you never knew what was going to happen. He didn't adhere to the standard talk show formula. I've watched the opening number of his final show more times than I can count.

One thing that I noticed when watching the older shows.....who remembers when a season of any given show was 24 or 25 episodes? Now we do well to get half of that in a season.

I’ve just finished going through all of ER as my background while I work show. The number of episodes stood out, as well as the big shows during sweeps that we really don’t have anymore!

One thing that I noticed when watching the older shows.....who remembers when a season of any given show was 24 or 25 episodes? Now we do well to get half of that in a season. I think it's more about network series vs. cable and premium cable series. This past season notwithstanding, 20+ episodes per season on network tv, especially for shows that premiere in the fall, isn't uncommon. For instance, Grey's Anatomy had 25 episodes the season before this last one. In that same season, all of the "Chicago" shows had 22. I looked up several network sitcoms and they were all around 22 episodes too. The shows with mid-season premieres tend to have fewer episodes because they're airing over a shorter time period.
I'm actually okay with fewer episodes if it means the quality is better. Sometimes, 20+ episodes can feel like a slog.

20 episodes is nice and all, but if half of that is filler...ugh. I've noticed that British and German shows have 6-10 episodes a season but the quality is a lot better. Same for cable shows; I think 10 is the sweet spot.
Decided to give the TV version of Snowpiercer a shot and was really glad I did. Daveed Diggs and Jennifer Connelly are awesome in this and play against each other nicely, and the different "cars" of the train are interesting and a treat to the eyes. Alison Wright is especially chilling as one of the Head Train people; I enjoyed her as Martha on The Americans and I really enjoy her in this. It's a dark series but definitely something to check out.

I wasn't sure where to put this. I had heard that the show Who's the boss is coming back with new episodes. I think Tony Danza is very likeable. Alyssa Milano, not so much.

I loved that show when it was on, but I really watched for Judith and Katherine (RIP ) I like Tony and all but I loved seeing Judith Light in that role, and well Katherine could do no wrong in my eyes. I hope it will be better than Fuller House was if it does indeed come back.

Don't know who here has heard of Tubi, but it's a free streaming service. A lot of the stuff in there is cheap trash, but on occasion you get to find hidden gems, be it movies or TV. Recently they have put up all 6 seasons of MasterChef Canada and the first four seasons of MasterChef Australia (with my hope that they put more up eventually). I binged the sixth season of MC Canada (only one I hadn't watched yet) in just two days, and decided to try the third season of MC Australia next (no idea why, I just did), then will go for the first season. A daunting task, as season 1 has over seventy episodes and season 3 has over eighty!

Yes! Oz was an amazing show but I found it hard to binge-watch. It's such a heavy show, if that makes sense. It makes per4fect sense. There's no let up in the violence(something that normally means I won't watch a series)-it's gruesome and horrific-yet, the stories are compelling as is the acting. Busmallis and Ribadeau have always been my favorites.
