I binged Only Murders In The Building yesterday. It was witty, silly and had lots of laugh-out-loud moments. And whoever thought up the role for Jane Lynch to play in the show is a twisted genius. Oh, and it turns out that John Hoffman, who co-created the show with Steve Martin, is the same John Hoffman that I went to college with! He was a great actor back then but I didn't know he'd also become a writer-producer as well. How cool that it involved someone from your past. I thought the show was good overall, though it did drag a bit. I was less interested in the murderer than in the relationships between the main characters. I liked them all a lot. Which I guess bodes well for season 2. And Jane Lynch was great.

I just got caught up on the latest season of Grace & Frankie. It was only a few episodes long. I think 3 or 4. I'm not sure what's up with that. Apparently there is more coming sometime in 2022. I don't know if it's considered the rest of the shortened season or if it's considered a new season. Anyhow. Apparently that will be the end of the series. I'm going to miss this one. I could watch those 2 gals & their family every year for the rest of my life. Never gets old. I guess this is what happens when the main cast members are comfortably in their 80's. Sure, that's where so much of the humor comes from, but sooner or later it's got to end. I'd rather now while they're all healthy & vibrant than dragging it out 'till something unfortunate ends the show.

Black and Missing is an HBO documentary that details the sad reality of what happens when you're a person of color and you go missing in this country. It was slightly depressing, tbh. How can people look for you if they don't know you're missing?

Mayor of Kingstown isn't quite as good as Mare of Easttown, but it's definitely worth a watch if you like crime dramas. Jeremy Renner is excellent.

Mare did not appeal to me so I cannot comment on that but I LOVE Mayor of Kingstown. Renner is amazing in his role. I am so torn right now with how to watch.. I am eagerly waiting for my weekly show but I hate when it ends. I almost want to binge it, and wait for the whole season to be completed and released. I am not sure if I can deal with all that mentally/emotionally. As someone who comes from a police family it's very deep and heavy for me to take in... each week I am a little spent after watching it. This was the only reason I decided to subscribe to P+, albeit at a buck a month, for 2 months its a good deal overall

Hot In Cleveland, for obvious reasons. RIP Betty White. What a great idea for this weekend. It's supposed to be in the double digits below 0 this weekend (tonight is predicted at -20) so it's a perfect time to curl up with the cat, on my recliner & binge Hot In Cleveland. What channel is it on?

I need recommendations.
My 81 year old mother just moved in with us, and I am thankfully still working from home, but I spend a LOT of time in my office. She is mobile with a walker, but spends a lot of time watching TV.
Things she has loved and watched repeatedly almost to the point of obsession include:
The Tudors Downton Abbey The Crown
We have HBOMax,Amazon, Netflix, Hulu and Peacock available for streaming.
I was thinking about getting her started on Succession, maybe? It's dramatic enough, but really vulgar

Watching The Good Place for the first time and what a darling show! I love it so far. One of my all-time favorite shows! I've re-watched it several times. Along with Schitt's Creek, it's one I never get tired of. I love that TGP filmed in locations around SoCal, so some of the places that I know and love, including the Huntington Library and the Getty, substitute as the Good Place.
I"m getting ready to cancel/pause my Acorn subscription, so I'm watching a bunch of shows before the next renewal date. I finished the new season of Agatha Raisin, the second season of Manhunt and all of Bed of Roses, a sweet Aussie series. I've been watching Pieces of Her on Netflix, but I'll hop over to Acorn after this to get through some more content. I just can't justify all of these streaming services and I already have BritBox.

1883 (Paramount+) was SO good. I adore Sam Elliott, and Tim McGraw did a great job. I had only two minor gripes: they were a bit heavy handed with Elsa's narration, and everyone's teeth were just too pretty and white for that time period. The last episode was kind of brutal, though. I may have paused it to go grab a few tissues...
