I lose my insomniac I Love Lucy block for 2 full months for this. Sigh.

You guys are killing me with all the references to Christmas! This next three months is my crazy time of year. I need it to go as slowly as possible! Hearing about how many days are left until Christmas gives me hives. I'm sure there are actors who make their entire living on Hallmark movies. They can do one every season and make a nice little living. I mean, do Lacey Chabert, Danica McKellar and Candace Cameron Bure do anything BUT Hallmark Channel projects? I watch most of them, but MAN are they mostly terrible. About one a year ends up being pretty good, but the majority are just cookie cutter. Honestly, I could probably write those movies. I usually guess the dialogue before the actors speak it. My mom and I joke about the Hallmark movies all the time. I mean, who knew there were so many small independent nations near Luxembourg with young, single princes looking for American wives? Also: * The ONLY place to find happiness is a small town * NO ONE is happy in a corporate job and any man who works in one of those jobs is clearly unsuitable as a potential husband * There's a short list of acceptable careers for women: teacher, florist, party planner, journalist, baker/chef....I think that's it. * Oh, and there's a quota for people of color in each movie (apparently, there actually is, but no one talks about it publicly). I was actually shocked to see two movies on the schedule this year with predominantly black casts. I'd prefer to see a better mix in all the movies. Everything is so lily white. BORING!

September 1st starts my FAVORITE time of the year, so I want time to pass sloooooowly. I want to savor the cooling off after a hot summer, and the social and cultural activities and the new tv shows that start up in the fall, and to enjoy the pleasure of each of the holidays, as well as the energy that builds up as we get closer to Christmas and New Year's. But as I'm getting so much older, the time is going by so much faster!!!! It's September 25th already! How did that happen???? It was just the beginning of September a few days ago. Damn!!!

We've had snow already, so it felt like Christmas ,not fall. Now that's gone, the leaves are beautiful, fall is my season, and nothing about Christmas is in our house until way into December. Our Thanksgiving is soon! As for Hallmark...https://globalnews.ca/news/4483486/hallmark-movie-bc-interracial-couples/

Omg..I really dont want to hear Johnny..LOL Well, as it happens, FannyMare, I didn't set out to hear Johnny either! I really wanted to find a clip of the original Auntie Mame, Rosalind Russell, singing We Need a Little Christmas --- but alas, the closest I could get was Lucille Ball's version from the movie, Mame. Sooooo, the next best thing was Johnny Mathis --- and I actually loved it once I played it! Especially the visuals!!!

I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I LOVE X-mas music and pretty much immerse myself in everything holiday season. It's a sickness, I need help. lol. I will watch and record every X-mas/holiday movie, show, etc. and then watch it five more times. I wear the awful sweaters and sing off key in my car. It starts the week of Thanksgiving and then it ends 12-26. I'm so over it after that. It's like a switch turns off and I go back to Ba-humbug. lol.

Even though the Hallmark movies are fairly predictable I still love them! I do love a happy ending! I know I can watch those while I'm eating or late at night and not be grossed out or get nightmares. They also don't require a lot of attention so good to watch while crafting. I extra love them when the main actors have genuine chemistry that's noticeable, even if it's just a friendship. I think that shows through.

Not my cup of tea, but in the grand scheme of things getting your Christmas on early is such a harmless thing; I'm for anything that brings people joy. I'm the same way about Fall and Halloween; it can't start early enough for me! I love Fall.

Thanksgiving is my favorite, too, but I do love me some Christmas. Not so much the Hallmark movies, they all seem to have the same plot. I will watch just about every version of A Christmas Carol, though

I LOVE this thread. It's only in the upper 50's here and so I just put on some Christmas music. I'm tempted to put up the tree but I think Brandon would probably kill me. I know it's only September, but I LOVE the Christmas 'feeling' so much more than the actual holiday, and so any time there's a chill in the air -- I'm ready for Christmas. Thanksgiving too. That's my favorite of all the holidays! JosephD ..... GO AHEAD ..... put on that Christmas music ..... but I am with Brandon .... it might be a bit early for the TREE!!!! OMGosh..........Christmas emoji's!!!! WOOT WOOT!!!! I want them!!!!

The year I was away for college and didn't go home until Christmas I, along with another girl one my floor in the same boat, started listening to Christmas music in October! Otherwise I generally prefer to wait until after Thanksgiving.

My kids are grown but still came back for Christmas until a few years ago. I had downsized to a small cottage and there really wasn’t room for everyone to sleep comfortably. I stopped getting a tree about three years ago. Now we meet at my daughter’s house if we’re all together, but not usually on Christmas itself. I’ve been alone the last two Christmases. It’s a little depressing, but not too bad.

Guys, let's keep this thread for discussing Christmas TV programming. If you want to talk about the holiday in general, anyone can start a thread for it in General Discussion
