I hope this show picks up the pace. It's a little too slow for my taste. Plus, just like last week when I guessed the "set them free" true meaning, this time I guessed the thing about the storage room. Olive was leading Ben down that hallway and I'm thinking, here's where she takes her dad to show him that she saved all her brother's toys. Meh. I like to be hit with something I didn't see coming, so that was a bummer. Plus again, Olive would have been 11 years old when her dad and brother went missing. How did an 11 year old have the mindset and means to put a bunch of their stuff in storage? And keep that hidden from her mother? I completely understand how hurt Michaela would feel over finding her fiancé is married to her best friend in what felt like to her 4 days after the last time she saw them, but everything about her character just depresses me. I know her behaving indifferently is somewhat normal given her situation, but I just want her to show more emotion. She's way too calm,... and not very likeable either. In fact, I think all of the characters (plane passengers as well as those left behind) are a little too blasé given what they've all been through. Their entire lives have been altered. They're hearing voices, strange music, having creepy premonitions and everyone seems to have just accepted all of that like it's some minor irritation.... just another speed bump on the road of life. Take the little boy, for example. He should be MAJORLY freaking out over seeing his twin sister 5 years older, but he's not. He's way too accepting of all the changes. It's not believable. I'm going to hang in there another episode or two just to see if anything interesting starts to develop, but right now this show isn't engaging enough for me.

Well Olive did say it wasn't right away it was after a couple years she did it and she had help the storage place was her mom's Boyfriend's. So I mean an 11 year old with help I believe it's possible especially with the twin thing..

I'm glad that it looks like the show is starting to pick up a little in the preview and maybe it won't get quite as corny as Under the dome.

I've watched the first two episodes and while I've wanted to like this show, I just can't get "into" any of the characters. Just don't care what happens to any of them. I'll give the third episode a try. None of the actors or characters stand out for me in any way.

Finished episode 2. The shadow was interesting as at first I thought is was the wife's love interest but now it is the mysterious shadow that killed the one lady who interviewed on TV. Had a bit of an attitude.

I'm giving this show a chance and will watch episode 3. If it goes the way of Under the dome and/or Lost....I'm done.

So far they've spent too much time on the fact that Michaela's boyfriend married her best friend. Nothing intriguing about that. Episode 2 is only 4 days after they landed and they are only focused on one family, although they are introducing the other 20. We have seen the Doctor, and the pilot mentioned he was hearing stuff, and there was the musician in both episode and the mean lady that got shot. We also see Michaela processing her return, the loss of her fiancé, the death of her mother, hearing voices, being involved with a kidnapping, her fiance badgering her, having a crisis of conscious and opening to find God (as the answer to what happened), getting her job back, having a psych exam and finding out her sister-in-law has a boyfriend, and forgiving her best friend for marrying her fiance. That is a lot for one person to process in that amount of time. It's only two episodes in, let it unfold.

So far I am luke-warm on this series, and I really wanted and expected to be all in. I wish that I could "connect" better with Melissa Roxburgh (Michaela), if I could, I think that I'd be more drawn in than I am. Not saying that she isn't a fine actress, but for some reason, which I can't really put my finger on, the chemistry-of-caring about Michaela, and about what happens to her, just hasn't kicked in for me, at least not in any major way. And with Michaela being such a central character ... well, that's sort of a problem.

Didn't enjoy anything from episode 3. My expectations have completely sank. Looks Daniel Sunjata is Grace's boyfriend and apparently he will be putting up a fight. He has been with Grace for 3 years and became close with her daughter. I'll tune in to episode 4 just for that.

Anyone else notice that when they were chasing the girl through the mall that the clock said it was 8:28.

Anyone else notice that when they were chasing the girl through the mall that the clock said it was 8:28. Yes. Saw it. They also did a quick pass over the mother's cross stitched pillow with the 8:28 phrase on it.

I am kind of confused about the comments on this show. It can't, or mustn't be like Lost or Under The Dome. They are concentrating on the characters to much, they can't consider how life is so much different for those that were on the pane as opposed to those that lived for 5 1/2 years in the meantime. Please, someone tell me what this show should be about, if none of those subjects are to be addressed?

I agree, I wish Micheala was more likable. She's beautiful to look at but her personality is so.....board like. Can we see in flashbacks that she had a personality before going to Jamaica? And that flight should have come from Boston - there are no sunburns, no braids in hair, no college kids or honeymooners. No one is in shorts or sweatpants? (Which seems like the uniform for flights these days). And why no First Class?

This week's episode was a little better than the others. I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet.

This week's episode was a little better than the others. I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet. I was coming to post the opposite opinion I thought the 3rd episode was meh, and I really enjoyed the first two! Both my husband and I like this show (for now) and it's rare that we watch the same show, so this is nice. I hope it can continue to capture both of our interests.

Episode 3 was a lot slower then the 1st 2 more of a detail episode. Still loving the show. While it was a slower pace I don't feel like I'm struggling through like I do when I watch a Million Little Things.

And I was making the very same comparison in my own mind, between those 2 same shows, Manifest and A Million Little Things.

Per wiki:
Season 1 Episode 4 - "Unclaimed Baggage" - October 15, 2018
Funny how the insurance company immediately figured out who the Flight 828 were and demanded their money back. There was no attempt at committing fraud. I feel bad for the folks whose relatives got their savings and retirement funds. I am sure many folks on that flight were wiped out financially.
I did enjoy the episode although if you watch Doctor Who the grey lady looked a lot like the "Weeping Angels", an on purpose?
What surprised me was that after all they have done Ben is the one getting upset about them protecting a fugitive etc something that continues into next week's episode.

The writers are having some fun with the episode titles, "Pilot", "Reentry", "Turbulence", "Unclaimed Baggage", "Connecting Flights", "Off Radar".
A ship or plane's manifest is the list of cargo or passengers on a particular trip.

It has become too stale for me so I am officially bowing out. I can no longer stay engaged with the story or the characters. I'd eventually like to know what the heck this all means so I look forward to you guys spilling it.

I'm going to hang in with both of them on my DVR for a while longer. Not sure I could wait through the commercials for each segment - FF is saving them both for me so far.

Hah, an unknown stowaway discovered. A bittersweet story still pending. Lots of emotion...maybe too much. I'm having trouble with that; but it is an anxiety producing concept.

I watched episodes 3 and 4 over the weekend and while I still have trouble keeping track of some of the characters, it is becoming more intriguing. I just hope it's not going to become another Lost with five years of shows ending up with many missing parts at the end. The worst part of the show for me is the casting that was done with actors who fail to peak my interest. If there were one or two outstanding charismatic actors that I become vested in, I'd enjoy it more. Perhaps it was planned this way so it's more of an ensemble cast. By the way, I found watching two episodes at once better than one at a time. It helped to keep the story line intact.

I enjoyed the latest episode and will continue to watch...for now. That said, I still believe this type of story works better as a movie or made for tv movie and not as a weekly television drama series.

The full season pickup is for 16 episodes which is OK with me as I don't like filler episodes.

Season 1 Episode 5 - "Connecting Flights" - October 22, 2018 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manifest_(TV_series)Interesting to see them try to fight it but they still get involved with what the visions/call wants them to do.

Season 1 Episode 6 - "Off Radar" - November 5, 2018 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manifest_(TV_series)I was positive the NSA was behind the disappearance of the "missing" passengers, got really furious that the government was torturing them, of course they were lying about it all to Ben's face, and was thinking if not them who but the end of the episode. Definitely thought the contractors were working under government direction. Got mad at Ben's wife for thinking he was crazy, then dismissive of him trying to figure out the big picture.
