Anybody watching this new show? Two episodes in and I'm enjoying it. Not the best drama I've ever seen but I will watch next week.
I do have a couple of questions. WHO did the guy who died leave the envelope for? Was it his wife or Ashley...the woman from his office? I couldn't read the name appearing on the front of the envelope. What was Ashley doing to the computer files?
Thanks.

Jon left a folder for Delilah which Ashley took. The letter points her to an envelope behind a painting in his home office which said Rutledge. It had his friends and a Barbara Morgan listed as primary beneficiaries to life insurance. We don't know who this Barbara is yet.

I'm really trying to like this series, and I'll watch at least one more episode. It's not grabbing me though.

Is Rutledge the name of the building he left to the female restaurant owner (his friend's wife) whose name I can't remember, either? Obviously, my biggest problem is recalling character names. I do know all their faces!

It seems to me that they are not giving too many character names. Even though I watch with the closed captions on, the only character they have identified so far is Ashley, Jon's secretary. I think they are dropping names very gradually. Driving me nuts!

I get the depressing cloud hanging over every scene. After all, their best friend killed himself. Still, life is depressing enough at times so I'm hoping something positive's about to happen.
I don't like how bearded guy treats his girlfriend. Don't touch her panda. 'nuff said. She shouldn't have to explain things to you. Your relationship has not reached that level yet.

Yeah I think I figured out my issue about this show. I don't like the characters as portrayed. There is no one to root for. In fact the only one I would root is Jon and he's Dead.

I love this show. I like seeing flawed, complicated people. Archetypes don't interest me...or at least I find them less interesting I disagree that there's no one to root for. Just because they're not all good all the time doesn't mean you can't root for them. At any given time over the first few episodes, I've rooted for every character on the show. Then maybe I'm disappointed in them. Just like life. Sometimes even good people don't do the right thing. I enjoy that conflict (on TV, not in life).

It's a stretch for me to believe that the shrink/one night stand/"girlfriend" (whose name I can't remember) became sooooooo close to all of the main characters immediately during/after Jon's funeral. Way too soon for that to happen. It has bothered me since the first episode.

Is anyone else still watching? I think it's getting better and better. I love the cast and am totally sucked into the characters' lives. Last night's episode was especially good. Gary and Maggie's story with him begging her to continue treatment had me in tears. That scene in the kitchen with Eddie and Katherine at the end, where she tells him it's over, was just so raw and real. Kudos to both actors, but especially to Grace Park. That tree costume

I'm still watching . I am still on the fence. Maggie/Gary, I wish Sam Huntington aka Tom was cast in his role or at least was more part of the story. I find him more interesting. Gary telling her not to get out of the car almost got me. Then to add more to the Delilah/Eddie saga, there's a pregnancy twist. Typical. Not sure whether if it's Jon's or Eddie's would make it more interesting. I liked Eddie a whole lot this episode and it's probably b/c it had nothing to do with Delilah. I'm ready to watch Katherine get her groove back. Can we get back to Jon's "secrets"? What's Ashley up to? Is there anything more to Regina? More Jon!

I'm still watching but realized, during the latest episode, that the only character I actually like is....Eddie. The rest of them...meh!
I understand and accept that the Gary/Maggie storyline is heart breaking BUT I especially don't LIKE either of them...mostly Maggie. I don't know if it's the actors that turn me off or if it's something else.
Still on the fence with this show along with New Amsterdam.

I'm right there with you, tinderbox --- on the fence with this show and New Amsterdam. BUT I do have to say that as I watch each episode, and as the characters and storylines become more familiar, the 2 shows are growing on me, somewhat. I'll probably keep watching, at least for a while, but if either show is cancelled, it won't bother me a bit.

Ok just caught up on the last 2 episodes. I do feel they were the strongest two. I do like the characters a lot more (except maybe Delilah not sure why she keeps wanting to lie but I did feel bad for her she was going through a lot with her dads Altzihmers and everything). Can't wait to see what's the envelope.
The scenes with Maggie and Gary are pretty heart breaking the basketball game ala Love and Basketball was cute except I knew there would be no winners.
Still watching though lol

I don't know, I can see why Delilah did what she did. It seems like John was there for everyone but his wife. I don't condone cheating, but I can see why she did it. None of these characters are saints, which is okay by me.
I really like the actress playing Maggie and I like Gary and Maggie together. I have hope that she'll decide to do treatment. I can't imagine they'd kill her off.
Looks like we may find out soon what was in at least one of those envelopes John's assistant has been hiding.

We just finished watching the season finale. For a show about the aftermath of suicide, we are enjoying it, although enjoying doesn't seem like it should be the right word. I feel like they are being respectful of the subject matter.

I think they are being respectful of the subject matter, and have also found a really nice balance between telling the stories of the lives of the characters AND unraveling the mystery behind the suicide. If it were entirely about one of the other I don't think it would be as strong of a show as it is. But combined like it is, it's like a nice balance of thirtysomething and This is Us, and I like it.

Carl lives!!! So happy to see Chandler Riggs back on TV. He looks SO grown up compared to that little boy on WD all those years ago. I hoped that they hadn't cast him for just one episode and I love how they've woven him right into the show. Now he's linked both to Jon's story and to Rome.
Could he be JON's son and not Dave's? Acooker, I think the thirtysomething/This Is Us comparison is dead-on, although I hope this show doesn't end up being so gimmicky, like TIU has become. I'd rather see it become more like thirtysomething. I get that showrunners feel like they need a twist now to pull in viewers, but I just love stories about people. I don't like feeling manipulated. Sometimes I think TIU is trying to be too clever. Plus, I like to see characters grow and learn, rather than just make the same dumb mistakes over and over again (I know might be more realistic, but I don't want to watch it).
So, will Rome and Regina break up over him wanting children and her NOT wanting them or will one of them change their mind? I like them together, so I hope it's Regina who changes.
What will Katherine do when she finds out that Deliliah's baby is Eddie's and not John's? I have my doubts about that relationship. I mean, I get that Eddie loves her and maybe wants to make it work, but would he still want to be with her if Delilah hadn't broken things off with him? It feels a bit like he's doing it for their son OR as a fallback position.
I loved when Katherine negged Hunter! Yeah, he wouldn't have gotten partner if she hadn't turned it down. Nice that he got taken down a peg!
Maggie and Gary laughing hysterically in the doctor's office after finding out she's in remission =

I love this show and have watched from it's first episode! So I'm looking forward to it's return. I actually thought that Katherine and Eddie played their rediscovery in each other very well. It seemed real to me. I don't know if that means the end for Delilah and Eddie or not, but I'm game for which ever way this story plays out. I'm also loving the Gary and Maggie storyline. Gary meeting Magine's Mom was a hoot.

It took the first full season to really appreciate the show and characters but I'm excited its back. The season premiere was a good setup for what's to come!

The Season 3 finale ending scene with Gary .. Oh my! I hope he realizes that Peter, that Slime Bag is not worth going to jail for, and that he leaves before he does anything really really stupid!

Still watching It's one of my favorite shows. I love drama series that are just about people. No gimmicks, no procedural aspect: just people dealing with their lives. I have to believe (hope?) that Gary won't take things too far. Maybe he can just scare Peter so that he doesn't do that to any other young girls. Peter deserves to rot in hell, but I don't want him to take Gary with him. My heart was breaking for Sophie in the police station when the detective told her that they couldn't go forward and charge Peter. That actress has really matured over the three seasons. Same with the actor playing Danny. I love seeing these kids grow up. I feel so sad for Eddie. Even if a lot of what he's dealing with is mostly his fault, it's still hard to watch. I like that he finally made a positive move in standing up for himself and going for joint custody. NOT happy with Delilah. She's being so selfish. First, she takes off and goes to France for all that time and now she wants to disrupt her kids' lives by taking them back to France too. I'd guess that the whole Paris storyline came about because the actress might have gotten stuck there during the pandemic, but they could have made her return different than they did.

I too like shows that are just about the people and their feelings. For me, this is my favorite show, with This is Us being second. Theo has also grown on me, he is such a talented young actor. I feel bad his character and also feel that he is afraid to see his father get hurt and so that is why he seems like he is always taking his dad's side. But poor Katherine, she really has been through a lot. And having Theo always take the side of his dad must really hurt Katherine more than what Eddie did to her. Delilah has not even apologized to her for what she did to her. Or at least not that I can remember. I agree with you, she is really selfish, and as Gary told her, she does not deserve to be happy.
