Yes, the 33 episodes are sort of a tribute to Russell Lewis. I guess we will see. Maybe, they will do a continuation of the series with Thursday, similar to Inspector Lewis? Anyway, this article claims it is the end of the series. Looks Like the Endeavour Series Will End As Predicted, at 33 Episodes.Just a reminder: Guilt premiere Sunday. A hit-and-run accident lands two brothers in hot water, and leads to an insane cover-up in Guilt. See why critics are calling it "an utter triumph, a word-of-mouth dazzler" (The Guardian, UK) when you watch Episode 1 this Sunday at 9/8c, followed immediately by Episode 2 at 10/9c. Guilt on MasterpieceI'm going to need the CC on, for Guilt!

Guilt: Yes, even one of the PBS hosts suggested that we turn on closed captioning, because the Scottish accent can make it difficult to understand the spoken English.

Is guilt supposed to be funny? Or a thriller? I laughed at several things, like in a dark humor sort of way. It's very good, but strange.

I agree mina. Not what I expected, but I am intrigued. The more that Max tries to makes things go away, the more things go astray. Jake is racked with guilt, while Max is guiltless.

Enjoying Grantchester and CTM! I cry at all the episodes!
News on Endeavour , season 8 ended in the UK and no one knew if there would be a season 9 as there were several weird plot things left dangling; it felt very unfinished. Sara Vickers has given 2 interviews since then in which she confirms there will be a season 9. She said they didn't know and the cast didn't know when they finished filming if it would go on, so they all thought this was the last, also as I. Morse and I. Lewis both ended at 33 episodes. So I guess Endeavour will break tradition. I think PBS is airing season 8 in the new year.

DH said to me, it's as if you know him..aww, he's do sweet. I also cry at this, and CTM..

I just finished watching episode 2 of CTM. Interesting commentary on what is going on in this country. The actress who played the pregnant young woman (not by her husband) is stunning.

Baptiste Returns on Sunday! It airs at 10PM ET.
If you fell in love with the gentle but determined French detective Julien Baptiste, get ready! The Baptiste TV series is back beginning October 17, 2021 and Julien is still far from retired. Six episodes follow Baptiste (Tchéky Karyo) as he searches for the missing family of a British Ambassador. Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve, Mrs. Wilson) guest stars as Ambassador Emma Chambers.

Poor Leonard, next week is the season Finale, and I hope it brings resolution. What a mess of things for Geordie and Will. This was a heavier season than usual for me. I guess the writers must have been feeling the effects of the pandemic. They are filming next season right now. (So at least that’s some good news). Call the Midwife is a bit challenging, because everyone is keeping 6 feet a part at all times and people seem stiff and unnatural. But, I am so pleased with Trixie! Her character is doing a phenomenal job in growth this season! I just want to hug her in every scene. I am also glad they kept a trace of “old Trixie” in the bed bugs ostrich feathers slippers scene . She is learning to be humble, graciously, and I love her growth of character. I’m so glad that Sister Monica Joan is back to her old self again. You can see they used a lot of care in keeping her safe from covid while filming. I’ll be so glad when life gets back to normal again.

When they were talking about who owned those squalid flats, I guessed it was Alyward..love masterpiece theatre.

A little interview between Leonard and Mrs C actors: MASTERPIECE: What would you say that you two learned from filming this season? And what were people’s reactions? AL & TESSA: Tessa: I met a guy today, a chum of mine, for lunch. He’s gay and in his 70s, and he said, “Watching this season of Grantchester has been so incredible for all of us who are gay to see where it was in the 50s and where it is now….I remember those times in the 50s and 60s, and I remember being not able to be open. I can’t tell you what a difference it’s made to all of us as a community.” I just thought, isn’t that fantastic? Al: It’s had quite a profound effect on people, hasn’t it? More than anything we’ve ever done, really, I think… Maybe because we’re six seasons in and we’ve got a strong fan base, and the writing’s good and people care about these characters, that is always the goal of the show. Much more than a murder show, is that it’s about family and it’s about people. Masterpiece Interview

Excited for the CTM Christmas wedding!!!! I'm sort of weirded out by the Trixie /Matthew Aylward romantic suggestion though. And I didn't like Nurse Nancy at all. Maybe she'll grow on me, but I hope she's not a regular of the show going forward.

Nancy is a little bit judgmental isn't she? But, I remember finding Trixie selfish, entitled and spoiled in the beginning and now I adore her. So, that's one of the things that I like about CTM, growth and change. Already, we see Nancy changing from the indoctrination of what she was taught by the previous orders of nuns and willingness to grow and change. So, that's a hopeful sign. She is spunky though, so I expect some of her brashness will still be there, just like Trixie was worried about her ostrich feather slippers being destroyed.

I didn’t realize this until I was reviewing my PBS ADVANCE magazine. Last week was the final episode of Call the Midwife for the season, until the Christmas Special. The upcoming show on Sunday is called Call the Midwife Special Delivery. The description reads: Celebrate 10 years of the show by going behind the scenes for interviews with the cast and crew.
Grantchester Sunday 11/21 is the season 6, Episode 8 Finale. Please make it a happy ending for Leonard! I can’t wait for Season 7, which is well into production now.

Here is a cute Q&A with Tom Brittney. Questions are from viewers. MASTERPIECE: “This is an emotionally fraught time for Will, from dealing with Leonard’s trauma to a somewhat fractured relationship with Geordie to sleeping with Tamara to the arrival of Henry. How do you process all of that as an actor, and are you able to leave the set at the end of the day without carrying it all with you?” from Sandy Springs, Georgia TOM BRITTNEY: Well, firstly, let me state for the record, they did not sleep together, Will and Tamara. They did not. They just physically shared a bed. I try to acknowledge it’s fiction, whether it affects me in terms of opening my eyes to a new issue. Leonard’s storyline, for the viewers or anyone who was part of it, it’s a really heartbreaking storyline to follow. We definitely would talk about it, or you definitely would feel something when you came home, but it was more on set, like when reading that sermon after Leonard’s been sent to prison and he’s written a letter for Will to read out loud. Even thinking about it, I just remember I could not get through it. I’m like, this isn’t even real, but it just was so heartbreaking, and loving Al Weaver [actor] and Leonard, those are the things that affect me the most; the stuff on set where your fiction and reality kind of blur. MASTERPIECE: “When Will and Geordie have a pint or a drink of whiskey, what are they actually drinking?” from Great Falls, Virginia TOM BRITTNEY: Sometimes it’s non-alcoholic beer, which is my favorite, because you kind of have that placebo effect and feel like you’re actually having a drink in a pub. And sometimes it’s just watered-down Coca-Cola. I think whiskey’s normally watered down Coca-Cola, which is fine. My favorite is ginger ale, anything like that. But then also, if you’re doing 20 takes, then the sugar rush you get is insane. Tom Brittney Answers Fan Questions

Did anyone else blubber their way through the Call the Midwife 10th anniversary special tonight? I'm a soggy mess! Now I want to go back and watch it all again from the beginning.

We all did I think. Very heartwarming, beautiful production team and cast. But, my spirits kicked up again as soon as I saw Leonard on Grantchester take a deep breath when he left prison. I was so happy for him! Two excellent shows on Masterpiece!
