How about you, Nicholas, is there any animal experience Callum had you’re grateful you didn’t have? I sense it might have to do with a certain cow…
NICHOLAS RALPH & CALLUM WOODHOUSE: Nicholas Ralph: Oh, yeah. I spent my first year at the back end of those bigger animals, and—touch wood—so far I’ve been fine. Then Cal gets his first taste of it, and gets a double hit straight away! Callum Woodhouse: It was absolutely crazy. The whole thing with the cows is that when you lie them down, they’re only allowed to be laid down on the ground for five minutes at a time, because their organs are so heavy that if they’re down longer than five minutes, they start to be really uncomfortable and could squish. So once they get the cow down, one of the animal handlers sets a timer on their phone for five minutes, and during that five minutes, you just get as many takes as you can from that camera setup. At the very beginning of the one five minute period, I got weed on—basically all the way from my Adam’s apple down, it hit me, a really powerful, warm stream. So for the rest of the five minutes, I had that, and then, just as the five minutes was up and I was standing up, I got the other one, poo, all over my hand. Literally in one five-minute period, it just all happened!

Loved Mrs Hall kissing Gerald before he left. Siegfried sure looked surprised didn’t he? Tristan! Omg! His toast at Christmas, his voice faltering as he spoke, I was crying so much! Then the “Goodbye” at the train station….. wow, what a tearjerker ending to Season 3 All Creatures Great and Small! Callum did such beautiful acting in this episode. So glad Siegfried told him he was proud of him at the train station. How funny that he was a stowaway, departing the same way he was first introduced to us in this series, and leaving his bar tab for us brother to take care of. Thank goodness we know in real life at least, the actual person Brian Sinclair (Tristan’s character) returned safely from the war. I will rewatch this Season 3 again and again, and miss all the characters terribly, until they return in Season 4.

Tom Jones Preview with air date of April 30th. Looks good.
Love the idea of a Tom Jones remake. But I'm sad they chose Solly McLeod to play Tom. He doesn't have nearly the charm or charisma of a young Albert Finney, who was the original Tom.

I'm not enjoying Sanditon as much as I used to. I'm tired of Edward and his story and I feel bad for Arthur. I'd much prefer Esther to come back and give us some witty remarks.

Finally, Sanditon series finale episode tomorrow. I remember how disappointed I was when the first season of Sanditon ended (what? 3 years ago?), without the "typical" Jane Austin ending. How I thought I would not watch a second season, etc., ever again. Jane Austin fans know how they expect their book to end. It's Austin, that's why we read her.
Well, I am glad that I continued with the series. I am hoping for a three year "happy ever after" ending tomorrow. It's fiction, and I want something fulfilling, and happy in my entertainment. Real world has become so fearful, unhappy and uncertain these days, so I am hoping.....no, expecting, a happy resolution of Sanditon to balance things off.
Something that will make Jane Austin proud! Come on Andrew Davies (screenwriter adaptation), show us the best you have!

Yes, Eastcoastmom, I also got a kick out of that!
I do think that he cared about Augusta, at least enough to save her by confirming it was all just about the money, to free her for a more advantageous relationship. I don't think he would have ever been faithful to her though in the long run. The Colbourne wedding scene in slow mo, shows his eye being caught by a lovely lady passing by him, she too turned slightly back toward him. Which at first I thought was Augusta, but re-watching that scene several times, I noticed the lady's hair did not have curls piled high on top that Augusta wore at the wedding. So, I guess he will always be a rake. Albeit, a sum what redeemed one. I think Jane would have been proud of the ending, especially with Charlotte telling the girls (through education), a woman can become whomever she wishes to be. Lovely Finale.

Who was lady Lydia secretly seeing? Did they say or did I entirely miss that?

Who was lady Lydia secretly seeing? Did they say or did I entirely miss that? I think it was only mentioned briefly as a suitor that her mother found unsuitable. I don't believe a name was ever mentioned, it was implied that he was someone local to their estate. He had asked for her hand previously, and been denied by her mother. Lydia then continued to secretly communicate with him and accepted his proposal without her mother's permission.

Unfortunately I very much doubt that Jane Austen thought women could be anything they wanted to be— or would have agreed that they should be.

All Creatures Great and Small announces new cast for next season. A Bookkeeper and Student Vet join the cast. Season 4 is currently filming on location in Yorkshire. Love it! BUT, I hope Tristan will return from the war soon! He will be missed!
In another article, I read: Is Tristan in All Creatures Great and Small Season 4? "Brace yourselves, All Creatures fans: There's a very good chance Tristan won't appear in Season 4. Woodhouse wasn't listed in Masterpiece's cast announcement, and he hasn't been seen in any paparazzi photos of the new installment. It was also recently announced that Woodhouse will be starring in horror film "One of Us", the timing of which conflicts with ACGAS' Season 4 production window. With that in mind, Woodhouse's participation in Season 4 will likely be limited, if he appears at all, but fans should keep their fingers crossed for a cheeky Tristan sighting later this season."

If Tristan doesn't "come home" during the season 4 time period, he'll be greatly missed, but at the same time, (to me) it'll seem more realistic, because WWII went on for many years, so unless Tristan was given leave from the military for some reason, he actually wouldn't be coming home for a very long time. (And, seeing as All Creatures... is based on true events, it's even more foreseeable that we won't be seeing much, if any, of Tristan for a while.)

It is more realistic, I agree. Although, I would love to see Tristan return before the end of the season, however unrealistic it may seem. In real life, I think he was stationed in India, married the daughter of a General Practitioner, and was eventually stationed back in Inverness, Scotland. Also, James (Alf Wight) enlisted, but, after one year as a pilot, needed surgery and following that, he was deemed unfit to continue flying, and was sent home. I wonder if it will even be mentioned?
Scroll down in the link below to see family photos of the real life characters.
