I'm not seeing any aisles on the schematics, and the number of seats appears much smaller than I remember. I wonder if they are only showing the middle seats. Maybe the side seats, which is what I would want, are still available. Phooey, I'll wait until I can borrow it for free from my library. The seats you see on the ends should be the aisle seats. At least that's how it is at my theater with assigned seating. And in my theater like that there's not really a possibility for the person in front to be too tall, because of the spacing of the reclining seats. There are definite steps down between each row, and very wide aisles for the reclining seats (and in my theater like that, for the servers that come around serving our food and drinks.)

But I want an inside aisle seat, not an outside, so I'm watching down the length of the aisle not over other people's heads. I'm wondering if the theater was completely remodeled. There didn't used to be nearly enough incline between rows. That may have changed too.

It seems the only thing they kept was the walls and screens of each individual theater. Our theaters don't have inside aisles going up the rows. It's not really necessary since there's an individual step between the rows. There's so much space between our rows that we wouldn't be climbing over people to get out. Not sure if all theaters with reclining seats are this way, but mine has a "step" platform with the seats, then there's a step down aisle that we walk on. (A step between the aisle and seat platform) I'm fairly certain that there's even a step between each aisle and each row of seats, but not positive.

I watched Hitsville, The Making Of Motown. Great insider info from Berry Gordy & Smokey Robinson among others.

Well bye bye to my weekend Christmas Movie marathons on the ION Network. I've enjoyed them almost as much as last year. This year I'd already seen many of them, but still enjoyed rewatching most of those. There were some good new ones & my favorites from last year were back. However, I'm glad they're over. There's only so much sugar shock I can take. I'll be back next year again.

Knives Out was great! It reminded me of the murder mystery parties people try to host, only it turned out perfectly!
I went today to see Bimbshell today and enjoyed it. I think it did more to show what victims of harassment go through and why many don’t report than it did sharing anything new about Fox News. The make up was outstanding. I liked it!
Brooks - many theaters have fewer seats now because they have recliner seats which take up more space. Not only are they comfortable but they leave a nice amount of space between people and are set up in a way that people are not screwed over by differing heights. Most I’ve seen incorporate stadium seating which is great with height.

(A step between the aisle and seat platform) I'm fairly certain that there's even a step between each aisle and each row of seats, but not positive. I completely sympathize with you & the short people seeing situation. Taller people don't realize this is an issue in so many aspects of life. Not just in theaters, but even in stores reaching stuff with nobody around to help. They think we are just being whiners. Try living in our shoes for a just a month and then tell us how "unimportant" it all is. eg: Have you ever gone into a public restroom & only been able to see your face in the mirror from your eyes up? Then wash your hands & try to use the air blower dryer, and have all the water run down your arms into your shirt or sweater or coat sleeves? So many regular daily examples. I won't even begin to list them. Short people problems. They're real. As to the theater seating, I've been to a couple of those new style movie theaters. They're great. All seats are good seats, whether for short people, tall people, or even children. The only problem is that the seats can be too comfortable. It would be way too easy to kick back and fall asleep in them. However, not every theater has been remodeled like that. Ours is a 6-plex & is still all the old style. I think they just don't want to spring for the remodeling money. When you're the only game in town, I guess they figure why bother. No competition. I only get to go to those when travelling.

Bombshell.
Charlize Theron totally nails Megyn Kelly, it's incredible and proves once again she's one of the best actresses around. John Lithgow as Roger Ailes is unrecognizable, but he's excellent. The scene with Kayla ( Margot Robbie )and Ayles had me in tears.

Knives Out was a blast! Lots of fun watching that outstanding cast cut loose. I think the movie was a bit over 2 hours but didn't feel like it at all.
47 Meters Down: Uncaged - a sequel that didn't need to be made. Sharknado on SyFy had a better plot.

OK, I give up, I need to see what a modernized theater looks like! I purchased a ticket to tomorrow's showing of Knives Out. Now I have the option of preordering refreshments and even having them delivered to my seat or waiting for me on a shelf. Seriously?? Very little I would order that I wouldn't want to be very cold or hot. Like ice cream.

They were ordering wine and all sorts of food, yesterday( even the popcorn was being ordered) we always take our own, I cant eat theirs..LOL ( those awful seniors) Enjoy the seats, they really are, very very comfortable

I enjoyed Knives Out, but I was annoyed by/resented the plot contrivances so that kept it from being a much better movie for me. On the other hand, the reclining chairs and full view were awesome! Thanks for everyone's feedback on the new movie theater experience.

Thanks for everyone's feedback on the new movie theater experience. Glad you enjoyed the theater Brooks! I saw Little Women a couple of days ago and loved it! Great Gerwig took some liberties with the way the story was told which I thought were great. I didn’t understand the need to remake it again until I saw it. Now I’m so glad they did! Yesterday i I saw Richard Jewell. All in all I liked it and thought it did a great job of showing the consequences of the mob mentality we have it attacking perceived bad guys. But I think they went way too far in portraying the newspaper reporter and FBI agent as horrible people, and that took away from the movie for me. The reporter was portrayed so terribly - and an insult to women - that I find myself thinking less of Olivia Wilde for taking the role. I don’t see how a woman can be such an outspoken feminist and allow men to portray the character in such a disrespectful way.

Maybe I'm in withdrawl from the ION Christmas movies, or maybe it's because all the regular shows are on end of year hiatus, but I watched a couple of Santa movies yesterday & today:
First there was Klaus, a really different & quite original take on the Santa story. I really liked it a lot. Very good ending too.
Next was Christmas Chronicles, with Kurt Russell as Santa. Also a different take & a whole lot of fun, even if it was predictable. I don't mind predictable in Christmas movies.

MissScarlet We watched Klaus a couple of days ago and really enjoyed it too. I don't want to give anything away, but enjoyed the fresh approach, and watching as each thing was developed. MrCoz and I went to see Knives Out yesterday. We both enjoyed it a lot. He stayed awake the whole time even though it wasn't an action film! The cast was fantastic, of course. Last night after we watched it, I read a rumor from the director that depending on how well this movie does at the Box Office, he may make another movie with the detective. He already has an idea and title! I'd go see it.

For my last movie of the holiday break I went to see A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood. I didn’t like it. The documentary made last year about Mr Rogers was so brilliant that I just don’t see why they needed to do this one. I thought the way they tried to weave the story into some of the elements is the tv show was odd and distracting. Not my favorite!

ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD. While I am not a real QT fan........THIS movie was AWESOME!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!!!! Great cast.....DiCaprio and Pitt were outstanding!!! Even though I was 15yo and living across the country in Boston when Sharon Tate was murdered I remembered hearing it on the News and then seeing that CREEP Mason. OMG I so loved the way QT finished this film ....... I only wish it had happened the way he portrayed it.
I watched Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood last night (rented on iTunes). My husband wanted to see it but he said it wasn't what he expected it to be. It takes place in August 1969 in the LA area and is about an actor and his stunt man who are aging out of the film industry and facing an uncertain future. I lived in the South Bay at the time as a teenager so the period cars and costuming were very interesting and real to my memory of what things looked like back then! The main characters are played by Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie. As a Quentin Tarantino movie it's on the milder side but pretty violent for me. Leonardo's character was a next door neighbor to Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate. The Manson family cult played a pivotal role in this movie as well and were just as creepy as I imagine they were in real life. Since I lived so close to that area, the tragedy that occurred with Sharon Tate was huge in my life. Like momrek06 said, I wish the ending in real life could have been more like this movie.
Some movie critics think it is a contender for best movie of the year. Since it's the only current movie I've seen, I don't have an opinion about that but it was a rich viewing experience, that's for sure.

This is good to hear because I've heard many differing opinions of it and I've loved Taika since his film "What We Do In The Shadows." People either love or hate it.
Detective Pikachu is on HBO Now so I watched that again last night. It was just as much fun as seeing it in the theater.

Not to mention the fact that it was outright slander and unfortunately the person in question is dead and can't defend herself. That completely put me off seeing this movie.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks- I had not seen this movie since I was around 6 or 7 years old. It brought back so many good memories, even though certain bits haven't aged well, such as the heroes coming across as opportunistic thieves in one scene and the movie tending to drag at times (the Portobello Road musical number is way too long). But overall I enjoyed revisiting this movie, Angela Lansbury was such a delight in it.
Return to Oz- Another childhood favorite, I rented it way too many times as a child. It wasn't till I had internet that I realized this wasn't the first Oz movie, actually (I knew the Oz lore from an anime I watched as a child), and when I watched the original, I found it so boring compared to this one. This movie still holds up so well to this day, the special effects are great for the most part, the animatronics, the sets, the wardrobe, the acting. I loved this movie as a child and I still love it today.

I want to see it with some chemical assistance. Most of the reviews made me laugh and I think it will fall into the "so bad it's good" catergory. The clips I've seen of it so far (the dancing cockroaches with faces getting eaten, Idris Alba doing a booty dance as he collects several characters, Ian McKellan looking at the sky while screaming "meowmeowmeow!") had me in hysterics.
