They really are serious about these guys being ready to be dads.
What I like, is how these people are older, mostly more mature, than what we usually see on the Bachelor shows. (of course, we get a night one drunk, much like the other series.) And, the houses are gorgeous: two twin homes, it seems, right next to each other on a gorgeous lot. Beautiful.
What I didn't like, was the "specimen jar" and how tacky it was that they sent them into a trailer to give a sample, to ensure they're fit to be fathers. Right out there in the driveway, with everyone hanging around waiting. Ugh. Then, they explain the sperm counts and hand out results, giving out trophies to the guys with the highest counts!! So tacky.

I didn't see the show yet, but I heard that pro wrestler Matt Striker is supposed to be on it.

Should this be called “who wants to be a sperm donor?” I watched this off and on with mild interest and disgust. Hey have all the romantic reality shows you want, but don’t include a human life in the mix. The premise just hit me wrong.

Something about having the contestant's parents on a couch speaking about them, is off-putting to me. Does SHE get to see these interviews, because she's the one choosing the guy. What do we care how "Budge" got his name? Budge, by the way, is a boring curmudgeon.
Matt the wrestler came off looking pretty good this episode: he got a 1:1 date, seems like a good listener, and is good at putting her at ease. He seems likable!

I wonder if "in reality" they had already done those sperm counts, and going into the trailer was "just for show." Definitely tacky, but I admit I will continue to watch this show.
As for Matt, the wrestler, Wikipedia says he is married with a son. So, either Wikipedia is wrong, the whole show is "staged" or they have a very "open" marriage. Wikipedia clearly could be wrong -- I remember some years back in the write up for my high school, it said Frank Sinatra had graduated from there. I was pretty sure I would have heard about that somewhere along the way if it were true. Sure enough, a couple weeks later that info was gone from the page.
The Anesthesiologist is cute but I had to chuckle when I noticed a hole in the back of his sweater when he went to hug Kristy up in the VIP suite. I thought as an M.D. he should be able to afford new clothes, lol. I wonder if he is very frugal, due to that, and his comment about the evening being so expensive (or too expensive?) for a first date. Then again, he might have been referring to the cost of booking the entire suite for just two people. Guessing that generally a corporation pays for it, or a group of people split the cost.

If Kristy doesn’t want to give up her profession and be a stay-at-home mother. I strongly suggest she not marry any of these guys. Any guy who starts out with “both of us” should raise our kids, or says sure I’d like st spend some time home with my kids means. —you raise the kids and I’ll “pitch in” when I’m not busy with work. Any proclamations to the contrary made to “win” Kristy’s “heart” are going to last for about a minute after the birth of their first kid.
Some of these guys seem nice. Although the anesthesiologist doesn’t appeal to me at all. But the question about raising the kids would rule all of them out — period, end of story.

The home town visits really helped Kristy make up her mind! It's always enlightening to see people in their natural environments. They often can't help themselves, and just act weird. She eliminated the doctor, Marcus, because even though they had a great connection at first (he came off as having it all together, she said), it's been waning, and then she gets to his beautiful home and he's got a dedicated Mom bedroom, and a House Mother, which was pretty much a housekeeper but also seemed kinda matriarchal. She seemed nice, but he acted like a little boy there, and poor Kristy didn't know what to think. Oh, and it was Cincinnati, so she may not have liked that thought. hahaha! He needs to grow up, I think. Then, when she broke up with him, he was a jerk. Made some comment about women needing to, I don't know ... realize what a catch he is or something? I stopped listening to him, actually. She's got to thank her lucky stars, every time she sees one of these rude exits (there have been several), that she didn't choose the guy. No wonder those guys are single - and it's not a good look for prospective dates! Her final two will go to her hometown next week. Kyle, who's 38 (and she said he's "younger" haha!) had a small apartment in Austin, very bachelor-pad-ish, but I'm glad she gave him a chance to prove that it doesn't mean he's not ready to get a house fit for a family. He seemed nice, fun, and she seemed to have fun with his friends. Then there's Stewart, who had a beautiful apartment in L.A. which she loved, and he's all about her. He introduced her to some of his friends, and she felt like they were her friends by the end. I think she's really into Stewart and all he represents (accomplished, mature - he's 40!), so I am betting she'll choose him and they'll be off having a baby right away. Although, he did invite her to spend some time in the hotel room alone, and she declined. I'm not sure how many episodes are left, but I'll most likely watch. Not much else on TV these days!

Note : what’s below is my speculation and not a spoiler— it’s my thoughts on who kristy picks.
I don’t know who kristy picks but I did notice that At the end of her date with Stewart, which was depicted as without any “red flags”. , kristy said that the date was so perfect it made her decision “even harder.” Maybe this was a red herring, but On the assumption that she knows who she’s picking, this strongly suggests that she’s probably going to pick Kyle. that is, how does a perfect date with Stewart makes things harder is if she’s not thinking she’ll pick Kyle?
I personally think Stewart has all the qualities kristy says she’s looking For but I also sense that he’s just a little too perfect, a little too ardent given the lack of any deep talks, etc. Everything with him has flowed a little too smoothly etc. plus how could a Caucasian woman who’s seriously thinking of marrying and having kids with a African-American guy not have thought at all about the issues involved in an interracial relationship and esp for their children ? That kristy has never given it a thought suggests that while being with Stewart is a pleasant phantasy, she hasn’t seen it as something she would do,
Honestly Stewart seems on a different level from kristy — more worldly, more attuned and much mor developed. She and kyle both have this vague informed quality.
My bet is that if this were the bachelor Stewart would be being groomed for being the next bachelor: he’s good looking, well-educated, seemingly affluent ( from what we can tell). And super nice. —If he’s half as Good as he seems., he’d be Up there

^ Maybe he could be a Bachelor! That's a great idea!!!
You may be right about the race issue. She didn't seem all that comfortable talking about it, although she tried. I would've been uncomfortable on camera too!

Well, I wasn't surprised but I was a bit disappointed with the finale. And I really wanted an update on them after it was over! The show had like a 1 minute wrap up: "I choose you!" yay, let's talk to the OB/GYN and suddenly the show's over. What are they up to now?? I don't know when this filmed, but a Zoom update would've been nice. Kristy kept saying the word "chemistry" tonight, moreso than I remember her relying on that before, and after seeing her being so physical with Kyle, it made me think she's just in lust with him. Hope there's more to it than that, though. There were a few minor things that made me cautious about Kyle: sometimes he was dismissive of her, subtly. Like at their last dinner alone, he said "Wow, lots of questions tonight...." as if it bothered him. Then, his mother had an edge to her, and seemed defensive or snippy or something. I was glad to see her give Kristy a decent hug at the end of their visit though. When Stewart and his mom and grandmother were there, it was very warm and welcoming by all involved, so Kyle's mom stood out a bit after that. Stewart seems so open and sweet, and loves his mom, so I think as long as Kristy doesn't want him, I'll take him! I bet after this, he'll have no trouble finding someone to love who'll love him back. Seems like a genuinely nice guy. I'd like an update on his life now, too!

I agree with the weird ending. It was like ICK, let’s hear the doctor talk about his sperm health. I did not think they were a good match. He seemed to have an agenda.

Gibbering Corned Beef statues? That is a fantastic article. I know. It had me laighing out loud. It didn't end up making me want to watch the show, but it made me want to read other things that guy has written!
Years ago, I read an article about another dating show (can't remember which one) where the writer, in describing one of the guys who didn't have great teeth, said, "he could eat corn on the cob through a picket fence." Apparently, that's a common saying in the South, but I'd never heard it before. I laughed myself silly.

Thank you for that. I am not surprised, but I do feel bad for her. And tonight, I see that she was on Brad's first season of the Bachelor! I had to do a double-take, but sure enough, there she was. I think she should have given Stewart a chance, maybe the "chemistry" would've built after the cameras were gone.

Oh my goodness, I haven't heard that either. That is classic.
