Anyone here have an airfryer? What do you like to make with it?
We have a small one and today we used some fish batter with catfish and fried it in it. It was really good; like a healthier way to fry? I think we are going to use it on a regular basis now.

I just bought an air fryer, Kao! It's coming today. I've been seeing so many reels on IG of people making things in their air fryer. Then I got a good deal on Amazon and had a Visa gift card with some extra money on it. I think the universe made that happen. I bought a small one too - 2 qts. It's just me and I have a small amount of kitchen storage, so the small one will be perfect. Have you been using yours a lot? Do you have any recipes to recommend? I've been googling for easy beginner recipes.

We use our airfryer for everything. Naan bread pizza's, any type of fish. Sweet potato fries, stuffed chicken breasts. It's so simple, even I can use it ( I hate cooking) Ieven did a quiche in it the other day. Lots on FB, I joined a couple of groups...

My husband was gifted one for Father's Day. We recently put chicken legs with garlic and lemon in there..and the skin was so crispy and nice!

I cleaned and washed my air fryer today and ran it with some lemon juice and vinegar to remove the plastic odor. It's all ready to go! I think I might just try potatoes first. That seems fool proof (<- potentially famous last words ) Has anyone baked in their air fryer? I bought a little 6" round pan to use in it. I've seen recipes for pizookies and things like banana bread. It's tempting, especially when it's so hot and I don't want to bake banana bread in the oven. I have some bananas that are on their last legs, so I might try it.

We use our air fryer all the time. Ours is similar to a toaster oven. My husband cooks his corn dogs in it all the time and we reheat in it. Great to reheat pizza. I cook frozen sweet potato fries and regular fries in it.

We haven't had our oven on for ages.Good luck.

Well, the 6" pan I bought for my air fryer doesn't fit It had too wide of a rim on it, so it wouldn't actually go down into the basket. I ordered a silicone one instead. I figure that's more flexible, so I can force it down into the basket if I have to! It definitely has less of a rim than this other one I got. I also bought a pack of the little silicone muffin cups. It should all come tomorrow, so I think I'll be putting the bananas in the fridge until then. They really are ready to be banana bread NOW (or two days ago...) I did buy some of the tiny red potatoes to try out in the air fryer. I'm also planning on doing salmon cakes in a few days. I got some orzo and other ingredients to do a pasta salad and then I can have the salmon cakes with the pasta salad and some actual salad greens.

We're having stuffed chicken breasts cooked in the airfryer, they come out tasting very tender. Critical, let us know how your banana bread turns out, our first couple of tries didn't do too well.

Okay, the silicone pans (2 for $10 - not too bad!) came and they fit in the air fryer. I do have to push to get the pan to settle down, but it doesn't fold or bend or anything. I've got my first banana bread in the air fryer right now FannyMare . Fingers crossed! The recipe I used, which was specifically for my size of air fryer/pan doesn't take too much of any ingredient, so if it's terrible, I won't be too upset. I'd rather it's yummy and I can have a slice with my tea, but the biggest single component is the two bananas, which otherwise would have gone into the food waste bin. The house smells good, so I think that's a good sign!
ETA: Well, at least the house smells good! It didn't cook all the way through, but the top was quite browned. I may have made a rookie mistake here. Should I have left the metal tray in the bottom of the basket? I think I should have. I googled around and couldn't find the answer. I'll keep looking. Oh well, I can try again once I have "dead" bananas. I did taste the top bit and it's good, although I might use even less sugar next time. The bananas probably gave a lot of sugar since they were very ripe.
Luckily, there are a ton of air fryer cookbooks available through Kindle Unlimited, so I'll check for baking tips in one of those
ETA 2: Because I am stubborn and incable of admitting defeat..... I took the top part of the banana bread - it was about an inch thick - that had cooked, flipped it over and put it into the other silicone pan and popped it back into the air fryer. It came out pretty well. THEN, I spooned the rest of the uncooked batter into silicone muffin cups and put those in the air fryer. At this point, I have nothing to lose!
I did find what looks like a good air fryer cookbook on Kindle Unlimited.
BTW, this is the air fryer I got. If I have more money and more space in the kitchen (counter or cabinet), I would have gone bigger, but since it's just me anyway, I think this one will be fine.

We leave the metal tray in all the time, because the air circulates around it. You'll get a feel for it Critical . Ours is a 6 quart, and lives in the basement with the bigger appliances, not much counter space here. It does make delicious, but healthy fries, if youre so inclined.

I made salmon today in the air fryer…added some lemon pepper seasoning, garlic and fresh lemon. It was the BEST salmon I’ve ever had! It was so tender and melted in my mouth! Delish.
