Janet Jackson Night - The eight remaining couples return to the ballroom for a star-studded Janet Jackson Night. There will also be a double elimination as the couples battle it out.
Enjoy the show!

Cheryl must have dirt in the judges. I can't think of any other reason why they consistently overscore Cody every week.
I do admire both of them for their stamina and dedication. I'm guessing they're still somewhat worn out from the COVID, but he's still not as good as the scores would indicate.

I was quite surprised that Olivia got sent home over some of those men. I like the guys, but Olivia is a much better dancer.
Suni looked great, as did so many of them tonight! Wow, what great dancers.
Do you think they show us those arguments in rehearsals just to make them seem more relatable? One argument, can't remember whose, seemed a little fake too! hahaha -- who knows, maybe they were told to argue?
Jimmie started to explain why he wears a scarf, for his grandma or something, and Tyra rudely interrupted him to blather on loudly about the morning shows or something.
ETA: was there a thread for their Queen sing-a-long show? Did anyone else watch it? I was really looking forward to seeing Adam Lambert singing Queen, but it was only one song.

I have to say, this is the best Tyra has looked since she started hosting.
Janet's songs are difficult to dance to
I don't think Olivia should have gone home and I have loved watching Jimmie get better every week. As CA said, he embodies what this show means, and promptly votes for someone that has danced before. At least Iman is left, but Cody does nothing for me.
I was rooting for Jimmie to win...now ,I don't really care..

I really enjoyed watching Jimmie, too. He improved so much and served to take enjoy himself. It's hard, at this point, to see anyone go home. (Except Cody. Seeing him go wouldn't be hard at all. I don't dislike him, but it's beyond time for him to leave.)

I agree on much of what has been said here from overscoring to the fact that 2 good couples went home over others that have clearly danced past their time. I do agree Fanny that this is one of TyTys better costume weeks.. but still sick of it all being about her. Let us intro Ms. Jackson and make it all about yourself some more... newsflash you are not relevant enough anymore for any of us to care about what you and your bestie wanted to do after a concert back in the 90s.
Not only am I just over Tyra's blatant self promotion but also the lack of production standards the show has now. I cannot stand the bad camera angels, crew constantly in frame, running the wrong video packages, crap wardrobe most weeks.. I am sorry all I could think about with Jojo and Jenna last night was someone needs a Brazilian, the wardrobe missed the mark by a lot there! I loved to see Derek dance on this show, and still do in general, but his pandering to the 'Stars' is getting old, no one wants to see a grown man kiss that much ass on TV, ever.
I admit I will finish out this season because I am invested at this point, albeit a bit less with the loss of people like Jimmie and Olivia (Cody, Iman, and to a degree even Amanda should have gone first IMO) but unless they make some serious changes I don't think I will be back next season.

Navybelle --I watched the QUEEN special and liked it OK. Loved Adam and wish they used him more as some of the other singers were nothing special. I found the dark background annoying as they filmed indoors or at night.
I did not enjoy Darren Criss at all even though I always liked his work. He was just silly and they could have totally skipped his part. Overall a C-.

There is a documentary on Netflix - Queen + Adam Lambert. Is that what you mean? I watched it every couple of weeks.

It was a fine show, for the singing, but Derek's dance was AMAZING!!!! He is just so dang good. If any of you haven't seen it, a search for that part of the show would be well worth it. Back to last night's show, I wasn't the only one who had a problem with Tyra's interruption:
