Darn. I've missed the first 20 minutes and I forgot to record it. I hope I can find it to watch the first bit.

They are having a ball and her court...parents and friends...are introducing her as per tradition of that era.
It's funny watching the guys trying to dance regency dance.
I need to learn the names...it's all Mr. and Miss.
They are doing a bit of a group date. Her court is picking 6 guys for her to hang with in another room. The Dr. guy is pompous.
She wants someone kind, confident and who is fun.
Now she gets to pick one suitor to spend time with.
This is happening very quickly. I hope we get a little more in the future.

I don't know who this guy is who she picked to spend time with. He is a realtor in NY. He is so nervous. She does seem to like him. He is cute and they are holding hands. They get some fireworks and all the guys inside are a little bummed. They kiss. That is a Regency no no!
She now has to pick 6 and three of those will be going home.

The host is a cutie. Yup. Obnoxious plastic doctor is on the list for the last dance.
She picks each of them to dance with and have a little chat with. I love how her court discusses each of the guys and if she seems into them.
She dumps her first guy and he says he isn't sorry to go. Dating in the regency era is hard!

We have our first crier!!!
I hope the doctor goes. She isn't into either of them, but the Dr. is a smooth talker and the other guy isn't. Don't fall for it!!!
Thank goodness she isn't buying it and he is really pushing it...despite the gift. She has told him several times and just won't let it go. He then tells her that she is making a mistake! So rude and pushy. I am glad she let him go. I really didn't like him. I knew it as soon as I saw he switched for anesthesiology to injecting fillers and botox.

There was an article about the lead in our local paper. She is from Seattle and was originally picked for Matt's season of the Bachelor. There is speculation that she withdrew from consideration, though, because NBC was offering her the role on the Courtship.

Great start to this show! Fun formality, and like that friends & family are included early in the process. I'll keep watching.

I kind of liked it. The Mr and Miss aspect is throwing me off, and the "host" is hilarious, like the butler on Joe Millionaire. I'll watch. Glad the Dr is gone.

I got into Joe Millionaire because of the positive posts and because even the reviewers liked it mainly because of the bromance between the two Joes. Here in the Courtship, the lady has her parents, sister, and friend and I just didn't feel or care about their opinions and the cast of suitors just was not that good.

I'm so excited about this show! It really feeds into my Bridgerton fandom!
I really didn't understand why she let go Mr. Echavarria. It would seem to me that if he impressed her family so, there must be something to him. Oh well...
The doctor was trying too hard and a bit manipulative. I also feel that if she kept him the other men would feel compelled to bring gifts as well, opening up a whole other crazy aspect to the game as well as other dating games.
I'm not really impressed with Mr. Luxe, the Mohawk Musician. I get opportunistic vibes from him.
Mr. Mumbray can talk to me all night long! In a way, he reminds me of Alan Cumming and I have such a crush on him!
I'm highly disappointed that she kept Mr. Saffa, AKA, the surfer dude, Fabio wannabee. He acts and sounds so pointless! Surely, she has higher standards?
I must admit that I do like Captain Kim. Only because his name sounds more impressive with "Captain" in the costuming!
Is there anyway that she could just simply choose the host? <rawr!>

If anyone missed the first episode it is available on NBC and you don't need any tricks to view in Canada.
Here comes the next episode. The guys are in their new home and discussing things while the court is enjoying their tea.
They get the Daily Tea...all the daily activities. Up today...canoeing and picnics.
Mr Hunter caught her eye. Mr. King...I like him. He seems sweet.
Some are trying to impress the parents and row the court across and Nicole is left alone so Mr. Bochicchio from the fireworks last episode swoops in and grabs her alone. Mr. Shanklin jumps in and almost tips the boat.
Mr. Saffa takes off his shirt with the parents. Captain Kim shares with them that he had his heart broken when very young.
The guys on their own, sing row, row your boat and then jump in the water to impress her and then pull her to the picnic spot. Mr. Bochicchio is bit of a stiff with little humour.

I am liking Mr. King.
Mr. Bochicchio doesn't have much of a sense of humour.
Nicole is liking Mr. Chapman. There is some sexual energy there...and he knew the Mr. Darcy reference regarding jumping in the lake so extra points for him.
Mr. Luxe interrupts. She is not into him and thinks he is not genuine.
Mr. Cones gets a slow dance and chats with her. I think she likes him too.

Mr. Holland is a teacher and she likes him.
Mr. Hunter is playing up to the parents. They think he is mature, but still fun and ready.
Mr. King pulls her aside and tells her about his mom passing away 3 months ago and then a month later his brother. His mom taught them to be strong. She cries and he will be staying. He thinks she is real and genuinely cares and that is hard to find. He finds it hard because she introduced him to her family but he lost his family and has nobody to introduce her too. He gets a hug. The other guys are watching and wondering.
They get a letter from the family and they have arranged a date for Mr. Hunter.

The other guys are a bit jealous and remind each other that her opinion is what counts. They remember that they liked the Dr. last week, but she still sent him home.
Nicole gives Mr. Hunter a tour of the mansion. He is southern and was taught manners. He is a bit of a flirt and she likes that. He even gets a tour of her bedroom which is Regency taboo, but this is still modern. They discuss his travelling and he admits he realized he was doing all this by himself. They make out and she thinks he is sexy.
Guys are wondering if Mr. Hunter got the first kiss but Mr Bochicchio knows he already did that. He is somewhat smug. He is going down fast in my book.

Time for the farewell dance. Five dances on the chopping block...Mr. Cones (who was rather cocky, but I suspect that is tptb), Captain Kim (I haven't seen her with him, but he thought spending time with the parents was a good idea), Mr. Mumbray (same as Captain Kim), Mr. Luxx (she wasn't into him), Mr. Kessler (again, I didn't see them spending time together). I think it will be either, Mumbray, Kim or Luxx.
Mr. Mumbray gets to stay. I think it is because her family really likes him. She isn't into him.
Mr. Cones...she tells him he is only here because she wanted to spend more time with him! Cheeky girl. I knew she liked him.
Mr. Luxx...bye bye. He didn't even thank anyone, just walked out.

Captain Kim...she doesn't feel he talked to her all week even thought she talked to him about this last week. He says he doesn't want to rush. She is so not feeling him, but the parents like him so he gets to stay. She wants more for next week.
Mr Kessler...apologizes if she doesn't think he made an effort but he is here for the right reasons and wants to stay. She apologizes but thinks she has deeper connections. He is disappointed he is shy and didn't fight hard enough, but he thanks her and hopes she finds love.
Next week is cricket. One of the suitors flirts with her best friend. (I don't think anyone will be surprised that it is Mr. Saffa. I thought he was checking her out tonight.) And there is a shocking surprise!!! (I wonder if it is more suitors?)

Another light, fun episode. I think Mr. Saffa and Mr. Shanklin are producer picks. They are absolutely entertaining, but I don't think she likes them. She sent the right two suitors home. She's got a great group of men left to select from!

I just started watching the first episode and WTH? They need to fire the wardrobe person. NO woman in the Regency era would dress like that with the plunging necklines OR, I don't think, with her hair down like that. It's a total mismatch. The other people are dresses slightly more to the period, but she looks ridiculous. I don't know what period that dress is supposed to be from, but it's not the early 19th century. Yes, I'm a history AND a Jane Austen nerd. This stuff bugs me I might go watch the delightful Austenland instead....

Apparently ratings are so low that CW shows have been beating it: ‘The Courtship’ Dating Series Pulled From NBC, Moved To USA NetworkBy Peter White March 16, 2022 11:33am The Courtship is ending its date with NBC. The reality dating format has been pulled from the NBC lineup and moved to USA Network. The news comes as the series struggled to find an audience on linear television with its premiere scoring a 0.2 and 0.92M viewers with its second episode dropping to a 0.1 with 0.59M viewers. It was in a tough Sunday slot without much lead-in and the hope is that pairing it behind Temptation Island on USA Network will drive more reality TV eyeballs to the series. The series, which was formerly known as Pride & Prejudice: An Experiment in Romance, was originally ordered by Peacock but was moved to the linear network last month. It debuted on Sunday March 6 at 8pm. This Sunday, March 20, NBC will replace it with an original episode of The Weakest Link, followed by an Adele special at 9pm. On March 27, a recap of American Song Contest will air between 7pm-9pm, followed by The Weakest Link at 9pm and an original episode of Transplant at 10pm. The Courtship will start tonight on USA Network at 11pm, following Temptation Island with its first episode. Next week, episodes two and three will air followed by episode four on March 30. It will also air next day on Peacock.

It's taken me several episodes to get into this show, but I finally have, and I'm actually enjoying it more than I thought it would. But, I found that I could only enjoy the series if I ignore the ridiculous Regency-style England nonsense, and just concentrate on Nicole and her suitors. Normally, I love period pieces, but this show's attempt at putting a dating show into a past time era is just not working for me at all. (I give them props for trying though, and I have to admit that the visuals are very pretty to look at.)

With each episode I'm enjoying the show more and more. And now that Nicole and the viewers know the guys much better, it's so much more fun! And this week when the new suitor came in, I was so surprised that it was Miles from England's long running reality show "Made in Chelsea"!!! Miles is very cute and charming, but he's quite a bit of a cad, so you'd better watch out, Nicole.

I’m all caught up through episode 10, and I’m loving the camaraderie among the men. I have no idea who she will choose, and I think she’s learning what she’s truly ready for in life. I didn’t have a problem with van life guy until he wasn’t being honest with her. Glad they’re delving into the race issue, too. Not so sure some of these suitor’s families are going to be a-ok with a black family. How lovely is her family, though?! Totally respect sniper mom 😂
