The Season 17 Finale - The final two competitors go toe-to-toe to impress the judges and voting audience one last time before the winner is crowned. The two finalists must dance five performances each.
Oh, wow! I just finished watching it and came here to see what others thought. Apparently not much. LOL
I have to say that based on the show last night, I would have given it to Alexis, too. I thought that she out shown Keaton throughout the night. I had expected him to win, but she just seemed to get stronger every week, and to me, he seemed to have lost some of his spark the last couple of weeks.
I'm not a fan, though, of having the studio audience make the decision each week. I read an article last week saying that fans were frustrated with this new approach and that a one-time studio audience doesn't have the context of the whole season to take into account like viewers at home would do. I agree! I'd much rather be able to vote myself each week (though I'm in the West, and shows have started neglecting us and only let people in the eastern half of the country cast votes that count, so I don't really get a say no matter what).
Seeking form amidst the void.
But if that's not possible, gimme a Margarita...shaken, not stirred...and hold the salt, please.
I was disappointed with this season and with the dancing. Didn’t like Jojo as a judge and I missed the weekly group routines. It was the audience’s favorite not America’s.

I tried to watch the finale today, but I fell asleep and woke for the announcement. I swear if I saw one more "push/shove" modern movement I would have turned it off.

I looked at spoilers and then skipped the finale. This whole season was a disappointment, from the auditions to the judges to the voting and just the basic structure of the season. It felt like a bunch of decisions made by the network and they all sucked.
I know there are better dancers than the crop that auditioned this season. It's not like there are fewer people dancing now. Maybe this show is just over now. I'll be surprised if they renew it.
IMO, no winner will ever be as good as Melanie Moore. She was the best they ever had. Perfect from start to finish.

Yep, I agree with pretty much everything you said, MissGriss! I thought that Keaton would win, but Alexis really danced well during the finale, and he just didn't.
And I also agree about not having the studio audience make the decision each week. That, to me, defeated the whole premise of being America's Favorite Dancer. Just, NO! (And btw, I've never liked the idea of not waiting for West coast votes on any competition show -- but I know a lot of shows do that.)
And don't get me started on unqualified judges. WTF???? Leah's a fun personality, but what a waste of space as a judge of dance.
Ohhh, the whole season was such a disappointment. Including the mediocre dancers. I always love, and look forward to the next season, but not any more, if they're going to be like this season. . .
