From watching the Food Network, I have a number of foods I've never tried before but want to give them a shot.
Some of the things on my list: Bahn Mi Ramen (from a real restaurant, not the dirt cheap dollar store squares!) Fufu Butter Chicken Bibimbap Pho
I'm sure there's more but that's off the top of my head. I'm not the most adventurous eater, plus I'm not very wealthy so I don't end out as much as I 'd like to. It takes a while for me to work up to trying something new.
What are your food quests? Have you had something special and unique that you think others might enjoy trying? Please share your culinary adventures!

I want to try Persian food. There's a really good restaurant in Brooklyn that I want to go to the next time I go to NY.

Persian food would be interesting to try! I don't know if I have any authentic places in my area. A lot of them are fusion places that have Greek, Lebanese, Mediterranean and or Thai food on the menu.
I talked to the people at work about going out for ramen and they were receptive so I think we'll try it in a few weeks. I can't go after my coming-up payday because I have too many bills due on it. I'll have to wait until the paycheck after it.

I hope you enjoy the ramen Pikachu. Good ramen is delicious and life-affirming and I want you to experience that. I would also caution you to look at reviews on places like Yelp because some places are better than others; we have a selection of ramen restaurants and chains here and there are some that I love and are on my rotation while others I avoid.

I'm an extremely adventurous eater. The only thing that really stops me is spiciness. I can do medium heat with things like Indian and Thai, but the jalapeno in Mexican food is hard for me. I also don't love organ meats, raw onion (I can have a bit of it; it's just not my favorite) and a few other things like edamame and lima beans (both texture things). In our house, you couldn't say you didn't like something unless you'd tried it. That meant at least two good-sized bites, ie. not a bite the size of a grain of rice After that, if you truly didn't like it, you didn't have to. Consequently, my brother and I both turned out to be really adventurous eaters. My philosophy is that people don't eat things that taste bad. Maybe something is an acquired taste, but I'll pretty much try anything.
There's an Iraqi / Arabic market that does takeaway right near my post office that I've been dying to try. I was over there today, but it was mid-morning and a bit early for lunch. I love Middle Eastern food, but haven't had specifically Iraqi food. There's also a new Ethiopian place near me that I also want to try. I have a few friends who are adventurous too, so I'm hoping to get to both of them soon.
I'm lucky to live in a really multicultural city, so you can find pretty much ANY cuisine here that you'd ever want to try! We do have a TON of Middle Eastern restaurants , including a great Lebanese place that's down the street from my house. I love that every country's cuisine that's under the umbrella of "Middle Eastern" is just a little bit different. Alas, my favorite Greek place closed a few years ago and none of the other ones in this city are up to that level

Right? It's going to be even worse when she wins the James Beard Award! I heard an interview with Department of Culture in Bed Sty and I don't think I've had Nigerian food. I'm really getting into tasting menus because they are so much fun. www.deptofculturebk.com/

I got to try puffy tacos for the first time recently! Taco Bell used to have a Taco Light in the past where the shell was a flour tortilla fried crispy and that was the closest thing I've had to an authentic San Antonio puffy taco. I tried making them at home after Taco Bell dropped them from the menu and didn't have much success. A new Mexican restaurant opened near me that had a puff taco so I tried it and OMG was it great!!! Light, flaky crust, flavorful fillings spilling out of the overstuffed taco, and just the right amount of heat. I went there with my co-workers from the Fertilizer section. I got a new nickname that day, too--Hot Tamale! I'm in the second picture. That's me and the manager of that section, Steve. Stephanie and Brian are in the last picture.
