Hmm, Anna was sent home on this challenge before, on her previous season. Could we be so lucky??

Hmm, Anna was sent home on this challenge before, on her previous season. Could we be so lucky?? I don't get what's going on with Anna at all. First, there's the little girl's bedroom circa 1954 lampshade hat (or headpiece or whatever that thing is). Then there's her whole kimono idea that doesn't seem particularly work-appropriate for a captain who has to be able to move around a lot over the course of his workday. And she's telling Gary that she's "divorced for two days" but says she's not flirting with him while also downing tequila shots. It's like she's all over the place. I also don't think it's particularly fair when some people have to do menswear, which most of them don't do, and some don't. On the other hand, I am finding the Bishme/Praje teasing back and forth kind of fun.

Finally, an episode where Christian pretty much leaves Anna to her own devices and out the door she goes.
I agreed with the top and bottom three and the eventual winner/loser. I also agreed with the look Nina shot Laurence when Laurence said that she knew the uniform was too plain but she just didn't want to do anything about it. Not that she ran out of time or disagreed with the fact that she should have done more---she just didn't want to do it. Maybe not the best attitude to have on the runway. I also don't get how leather is terribly practical since it isn't something that can just be tossed in the wash. Didn't get the love from Kate for Korto's look. I could see all the layers on that jacket getting caught on stuff, and I'm not sure how practical a sleeveless top is for anyone who might, say, sunburn easily. Seemed a little lowcut if a stew was at all busty as well.

Anna is an odd one, that's for sure, and I'm glad she's out. Her jammies for the captain were just too silly. He's a good looking guy though (maybe I should start watching that show!).
Bishme's was good and his client was pretty in it, but I loved Brittany's outfit! That was cool, and the fabric seemed appropriate. Glad to see Rami in the top, too. Love him.

On a ship where they pretty much throw everything in the washer and dryer? i also agreed with the judges that the fit was just not there---and Christian did warn her that it had better fit perfectly. I really liked Bishme's outfit because he picked such a smart fabric that looked good but was really workable. I thought the anchor on the back was a bit on the nose, though. I agree the new captain is good looking, too. But Captain Lee is something of a silver fox, too.

Do you watch their show, tilden ? My sister was filling me in on some of these people. I haven't seen a lot of episodes this season, but I've seen some past seasons. For the old seasons, I far prefer Captain Lee to Captain Sandy, whom I really wanted to like--whole female captain thing--but I just didn't get her management style. She would micromanage weird things like table settings/decorations. Captain Lee would step in when things got out of hand, but otherwise, he trusted people to do their jobs. Captain Jason (technically his show is Below Deck Down Under) has his own style, from what little I've seen of this season, but he doesn't really micromanage either. One thing I don't think the show does enough of is show what the captain of a ship actually does, probably because it has less to do with dealing directly with the guests most of the time. Really, the interior staff gets more airtime than anyone else does, or it seems that way to me, because they have to deal with the guests so much of the time---and some of those guests are a real over-privileged pain in the butt.

Okay, I'm rewatching tonight's episode because I had too much caffeine, I'm still wide awake, and nothing else was on. Anyway, when Laurent was asked about the leather jacket not seeming appropriate for deck work, she said that the jacket was more about when they're off duty. But that wasn't the challenge--the challenge was about designing a new uniform, whether it was the daily work uniform or the dress uniform. And when she was asked about the very basic, plain jumpsuit, she shrugged her shoulders and said it was a uniform. But why would he wear his uniform when he went off the yacht in his free time, so how would that got with the jacket? When Nina commented that she could have added something to make that jumpsuit more distinctive, she just said she knew that. Period. And Nina shot her a look like, "Well, if you knew that, why didn't you do it?" Look, I can see that Laurent is talented. Her stuff is generally impeccably made. But more than once this season, she's just made what she wants to make, whether it really fit the challenge or not, and she gets by with it because she constructs her garments well. At what point is she, like the other designers, going to be asked how what she made actually fits the challenge?
Obviously, not next week, since they seem to be being told that next week is just "make whatever you want," though I'm guessing there will be some kind of twist to that. I can't believe they'd just let them do whatever they wanted to do with whatever materials they wanted to use, regardless of cost. Otherwise, how is it a challenge? And how in the world do you judge one look against the other? I mean, in that case, if Kara Saun does a costume because that's what she wants to do, could she even be criticized for it, even though a costume would be much different than what any of the rest of them likely would do? And how would they judge a costume against a runway fashion?

I found this challenge yet again boring. I never watch this boat show. Matter of fact I watch only PR on Bravo. It seems that the other primary show is the Housewives which I don't watch either.
I am interested in next week's challenge. I am sure also that there would be some guidelines but having the contestants make what they are best at should be good viewing.
I hope Anna isn't watching this episode with her husband as it would not be a happy moment for her husband. I actually questioned if they should have showed all that flirting between the captain and her. Glad that she is gone.

When she told Gary she was divorced for the next two days, I thought that would be tough for a spouse to hear. Anna says she loves her husband and he understands her, so maybe she just has an odd sense of humor. Or they have an open marriage. Or at least one that's open to flirting that goes only to a certain level and then stops. Or she just gets that way after four tequila shots.

Finally! I’m glad Anna is gone. She’s slipped through way too many times!
I felt bad for Gary. She was giving him all systems go messages at the bar and then just froze him out the next day. So embarrassing for him to have that happen on TV! Granted, he shouldn’t have been trying to take advantage of someone who was drunk, but would it have hurt her to take a second to acknowledge him and say something like “Sorry I gave you the wrong idea. I’m really not available, but I tend to get out of control when I drink.”

Gary is a dog. He deserves everything he gets.
Finally! Anna gets the boot. I can't believe it finally happened. I didn't see Samuri, I saw baseball player. Loved the winning look, really beautiful.
Yeah, and that 'divorced for two days' comment wasn't very nice to her spouse. I felt that the rest of the designers were done with her as well.

Well, any sympathy I had for Gary is now out the window after reading this article. A production person is quoted in the article as saying, “He’s next-level scary with women.” Anna is lucky she didn't end up in a private place with him where he wouldn't have taken "no" for an answer. It sounds like the Below Deck producers knew about his bad behavior and did very little to try to stop him. Below Deck’s Gary King Accused of Sexual Misconduct
