^ugh on the romance part! PUKE
Ohh, so Luis and Ameerah would have to compete, if the hopper picks someone of their gender. The hopper chose a female, so Ameerah has to go to elimination against Michele. Michele snipes at Amanda. We hear someone say, "Fessy, handle your women!" because Amanda and Michele have tension with each other.
There were 12 balls in the hopper for the men, and only 4 for the women - wow.
The red team is realizing someone on their team voted for a red teammate. (8 on a team, there were 9 votes for red)

One swish of the balls was the difference between going home and staying. Fessy isn’t with either of them, he is strictly just a player.
It was cool reward though, she could have replaced Amanda, or any female. But, she chose loyalty.

It was good to see Bananas giving advice; that's one nice thing about having players who know these games already being on your team. Have to say though, other than that I don't care much for or about the veteran players!
And both Amanda and Michele are being petty. Such dumb drama.

I don't think I've heard from Fessy at all, now that I think about it. Wonder what that's about?
These two vets, Jonna and Tori, are really being aggressive trying to win. Yikes.

Football screws the schedule and the show starts about an hour and 10 minutes late.

Jonna is about 5' 5".
Tori is about 5' 9" as she is taller than Aneesa and Aneesa is 5' 7".
I think Tori is used to being a very physical player and Jonna is not.

It was scary how the ladies seemed to figure out how to vote.
The vets best way to stay alive is to find a way for the rookies to eat themselves.

Challenge USA 2 - Premiere episode - August 10 & 13, 2023 There is a lot to unpack in these two episodes, mainly because of the new game format. The show is keeping the Daily Challenge and the Elimination and we have had two daily challenges and two eliminations over the course of these two episodes. The fact that only the winning team is safe is standard and that they can nominate two players one male, one female for elimination is standard. I do like that there is an incentive for a team to win and not coast and let your allies win as the losers are all vulnerable to either be nominated or voted into the elimination arena. Then the two losing teams can vote for whomever they want, each person having one vote for a male or female is new. I like that the vote is secret as far as not knowing who voted for whom but you can sort off figure it out for yourself. You can see the players trying to figure out the best strategy whether or not to have multiple votes on one person or spread the love onto multiple people. You can even vote for someone on your own team. mmmmm .... I do wonder how the producers will keep the numbers of females and males even as the first two eliminations have been female eliminations as there is supposed to be one female winner. There is a certain point if you are in a group of the last 3 or 4 females you will be safe from eliminations as you would potentially all be going to the final.

I am surprised CBS allowed casting of Amanda with her mouth but I guess they wanted some drama because she is low tier Challenge competitor. Still fighting Michele over Fessy? Girl. I guess Amanda isn't working with the vets? Who are her allies?
There is so much strategizing we aren't seeing. There are 8 people from Big Brother, are they aligned? Tiffany will definitely get caught up again by overplaying. I guess her and Alyssa no longer have beef.
Jonna making that vote for Michele was a bad move. This works for her on All Stars but that is a whole different game. Physically and politically. Plus her saying it was her first loss was misleading. She never lost an elimination on All Stars but on The Challenge she's had 2 wins and 5 losses. Her getting tossed around was the wake up call she didn't know she needed.
I am definitely rooting for Wes/Cory/Tori/Bananas. But they need to work harder. They've complained about all the rookies coming onto the Challenge who are crap competitors and only there for fame/drinking/hooking up (which I agree) but now they have all met their match. Whether they last the season or not, I think it will be good for them for things not to come so easy. Especially Tori! I don't really rope Cory in there because he tried to play with vets and new players and they always screw him over.

There’s a second video interview (part 2) to the one that Bearcata shared (thanks BC!) where they interview Jonna. She basically says exactly what you’ve said here Girly! www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXB5hGbjrjk&t=332s. Jonna thought the vote would be completely secret. Had she known how it was actually gonna be done, she wouldn’t have voted Michele. Both video interviews are good - one with Ameerah and the other with Jonna - and they add quite a bit of insight and detail to what we saw aired.

Both video interviews are good - one with Ameerah and the other with Jonna - and they add quite a bit of insight and detail to what we saw aired. Finally had a chance to watch Jonna's interview. She thought it really was a secret vote, and that was the problem right there. I do like how Jonna's explains why she wanted to get rid of Michele and that she will have to change up her strategy for future seasons.
This is why I like to find exit interviews you get a greater insight into the game and what really happened.
I am glad that the producers finally changed up the game. I do not want to see people not win because it really does not matter because of your existing alliances. I do like that if you are not safe anyone is eligible to go into elimination. Many of the previous challenge champions can run a final and win. Many challenge champions do not do well in elimination. Getting to a final and running a final has always been two different skill sets. Now that the Vets are unprotected I want to see what happens. Can the newbies/rookies put enough pressure for at least 6 weeks to be able to eliminate all the vets, that is if the vets don't win their heats? Will all these alpha personalities can these players be civil to each other while they are attempting to eliminate the vets?
I do wonder how hard the eliminations will be vs the games they play on BB, Survivor, and Amazing Race. I do think Amazing Race is hugely underrated as each leg of the race the teams are running a mini final which I think prepares them well for the daily challenges, the eliminations, and the finals.
