I hate that the show blows through the finished house so quickly at the end, I always have to go to their site to get a good look at what they did. Here's a link to that Brickyard house - with a couple pics of that pergola at the end! Good Bones episode 14

They used to do this and I don't like that they are not anymore. Especially on this lot and that the chicks built a garage and pergola.

I enjoyed HH International last night. The family was moving to The Netherlands. Of course there was the mandatory comment about how homes are smaller, but the family didn't complain too much and their kid was funny.

There's a lot of stairs involved and the houses are narrow. That's a fact of life for most of the older housing in the Netherlands. It's a beautiful place and a lot of the homes are lovely. It's gotten a lot more expensive to live there though thanks to tech expansion and people who used to invest in US real estate looking elsewhere.
There's going to be a new Boise Boys this Saturday at 8pm/7c.

Boise Boys Season 2 Episode 11 - The Vinyl House - August 17, 2019 per Google: Very surprised that the house sold with only one bathroom. Moving the kitchen gave them space for a laundry room/mudroom I was surprised that they could not put a powder room in. The island seemed kinda large and it looked tight to get past behind it or pass on the right side to the hallway. I do like the way Luke styles all the houses. House stats before and after: Built 1956 | 1400 Sq. Ft. | 3 Bedrooms | 1 Bathroom |
Budget: Asking Price | $285,000 | Renovation Cost | $90,000 | Total | $375,000 | Estimated Sale Price | $425,000 | Estimated Profit | $50,000 | Actual Sale Price | $425,000 | Actual Profit | $50,000 |

HGTV has cancelled Flip or Flop: Atlanta after 2 seasons. Truthfully, I can't watch most of the Flip or Flop Shows including the original but I did like Ken and Anita. They had a nice, easygoing rapport and there wasn't any tension or drama, which is maybe why the show got canned. I don't mind the Nashville couple that much, either but gosh, I can't stand Las Vegas, San Antonio or wherever it is located in Texas, and the original Tarek or Christina. Good Luck to the Corsini's! I'm sure they will be just fine. www.ajc.com/blog/radiotvtalk/hgtv-flip-flop-atlanta-cancelled-after-two-seasons/aIHUW5SkmBYSl2yrcwV9eO/

Well that's dumb, they were one of the more pleasant couples to watch. I guess it's all about drama and sniping at each other like Tarek and Christina. Maybe Ken and Anita should have argued over budgets and rolled their eyes more at each other. Silly me, I just watch to see houses renovated.

Tarek and Christina are the only ones I am not fond of simply because they can't put the past behind them. They need to split that duo up stat. I will be surprised if they make it past this season unless they already have a contract extension. I think Flip or Flop Nashville couple is boring simply because they don't do quality work to me. I like Vegas because it's different and they do good work even they the design is way out there sometimes.

Shame, I liked Atlanta as well; they were divorced but worked together as a wonderful team. I've never liked OG FoF but really enjoy Fort Worth and Vegas.
Boise Boys has gotten a really nice viewership boost since they moved to the Saturday 8/7c time slot. If they get renewed I hope they keep them at that time because there's really nothing new to watch on Saturday before going out and it seems to be working well, similar to what David's Lottery show did for Friday nights.

Kao, it's the Nashville African-American couple that are divorced partners. As far as I know Ken and Anita from the Atlanta show are still married. nennie, I do agree that the Nashville couple's work is not that great but I DO like them as hosts. Las Vegas show I hate their style and Fort Worth is definitely sub par as well.

Raised eyebrows. The bare bones of their renovations are good. It's the over the top stuff that I can snipe at on a post is what I enjoy about the show.

I think ForF Vegas brings the whole package even if it is over the top designs most of the time. They do quality work. Aubrey can get by with her design because she is in Vegas. I watch for small details to see of they were done or not on these shows.

Although I have watched and would continue to watch, FoF Atlanta has not been my favorite. For me, season one seemed awkward because Anita was extremely awkward on camera while Ken, most likely to compensate, came off a bit too slick. I also felt Season two flips, themselves, were mostly awkward. I assumed they had a good number of ongoing projects ongoing off-camera --- and regardless of "what mama wants" --- the televised flip was more of, 'we're back' to take a look at this or that.
Unlike most posts on this thread, I do like the original FoF and second, in line, for me is Vegas.
I wish forum owners would consider giving HGTV its own folder with individual show threads. Like Bravo, I pick and choose what I watch and follow and separate threads would make it much easier to keep up and contribute.

I love the genuine love and respect that the Vegas couple have for each other. Personally, I enjoy Aubrey's magpie tendencies. Successful interior designers design according to what region they are in, and the bling and flourishes work so much better in Vegas properties than say, Maryland or an area like Boston. Buyers must think so as well because don't almost all of their properties sell?

They don't have the monetary resources available to me as do Vegas or Tarek and Christina. I think Ken and Anita did good work.

Good Bones Season 4 Episode 14 - Keeping It In The Family - August 20, 2019 per Google: Last episode of the season. Back to the 4 unit condo building in Old Southside the ladies bought and renovated a one bedroom unit on the ground floor. Mina and Karen renovate a two bedroom 2nd floor unit for Mina's sister Jess and her two kids. What was confusing was that it did not look as if Jess bought the unit but would be renting it as at the end of the episode Mina's describes the unit as an investment property and that sister Jess can stay in as long as she likes. Surprisingly, lots of closets. There were two coat closet off the living room and the ladies included a laundry on the landing outside their unit on the interior stairs by the kitchen. I liked the two bedrooms as the both seemed a good size. The bathroom and kitchen remodel looked good especially with them using the same floor tile, tub and kitchen backsplash. I did not like the corbels they used, they looked small and uninteresting. Karen has so much old stuff collected I can't believe they could not have found something nicer. Beginning Statistics: Square Feet | 750 | Bedrooms | 2 | Baths | 1 | Purchase Price | $40,000 | Renovation Cost | $70,000 | Total Investment | $110,000 | Sales Price | $125,000 | Potential Profit | $15,000 |
After Statistics: List Price | $135,000 | Potential Profit | $25,000 |

Hmmm. Boise Boys. Since I didn't see any future shows on my DVR, I went to the HGTV website for them and see that on WED September 4 starting at 8 AM, they are playing four re-runs in a row. I do not see any NEW shows for at least the next couple of weeks. Does anyone else have better information?

Are they waiting until after Labor Day to air the last two episodes? It is so much fun to check the DVR scheduled queue and see the listings for HGTV change out the closer you get to the weekend.

Just watched a really nice show called "Stay or Sell." The whole premise of the show is that you get your house fixed up and then you decide whether to keep it, or sell it. A family wanted to move because their house was too small, so a husband/wife team worked on the house and made an extension to the home with a garage and master suite above it. They also renoed the rest of the house and added a 2-way fireplace, beams, a very nice kitchen and a nice mudroom, and all of it ended up looking great.

I've been seeing non-stop ads for this on HGTV. My question...does ANYONE care? It was a set for a TV sitcom. I don't get all the hype!

Nostalgia for long gone TV shows. That's the draw. All the "children" will be involved and I think The Property Bros will lead. It will be interesting if for no other reason than they have to rip out all the pre-fifties upgrades to get it back to prairie mid-century style. I did read that the original house has no second floor and they had to either build one or the illusion of one with a staircase leading to nowhere (like on a soundstage).
I guess I'll be watching. HGTV Monday 9/9 at 9 PM Premiere

Wasn't there some shade involved with the actual selling of the home? Apparently another party was buying the home first to create a single-family home and HGTV spoke with the owners and offered more money so they broke the contract with the first buyers? That's kinda awful.

On Good Bones last night :
Unfortunately my DVR cut off before the ending. Did the engaged same sex couple wind up buying it? Wow, what a gorgeous home that was, especially for newlyweds to start their life in! There was a staircase leading to the basement in the kitchen and they had to remove it when they reconfigured kitchen layout. They never did mention or show where they put the new staircase. I'd hope it wasn't relocated to an outside entrance. I hate those!
