I have never thought it was fair to have everyone with the same partner week after week, because when 2 are eliminated, unless they're already paired up, they have a HUGE disadvantage from the other teams. They have to get completely used to a new partner and their style and personality. I think they should switch partners every week, no matter what!
That said, I thought Darius and Hannalei killed it! Especially her!

This whole season they keep screwing up the eliminations, and they did it once again. Why not leave it at 1 boy & 1 girl leaving this week? The optics and remaining skill-level are terrible on this decision. The two best dancers were eliminated. Nigel was telegraphing this in his earlier tweets, but he had the power to do something about it. Or maybe he didn’t; I don’t know who really runs this show. Strange how two weeks in a row that the most brilliant dancer of the night is shown the door.

Aaaand now we’ve reached the point in the season where I stop watching. The three strongest dancers eliminated in two weeks? Nope. I’m done.
I know it’s “favorite” and not “best” but I can’t watch when the difference between those two is so glaring. Three girls and one guy left? Beyond a boneheaded move :down

Nigel pleaded with Fox to give them back the top twenty rather than top ten. That would give them more weeks and the cuts wouldn't be so drastic.

I am devastated Darius is gone. I watched his dance twice,it was so moving, and I didn't notice his partner. I thought Skavik was way( way) behind the others tonight.
I'm very very disappointed, first Cole now Darius.
I guess I really don't care who wins.

So this is just another thing we can blame the geniuses at Fox programming for, along with the cancellation of Lucifer? Heck, I still haven't forgiven them for cancelling Firefly.
This season is a total wash now. Like I said (I think) last week - it'll be either Jensen or Slavik for the win. I don't care which one wins, so I'm done watching.
I liked Darius, but JayJay was the best male partner of the bunch. Reminded me of Ade from season 5 in that respect.

Too bad it is based on last week's vote. That is the downside of having dances and eliminations on the same night. If the performances were on Monday - you could vote and then see the reveal on Tuesday like they did in the way-way back time.

Wow, glad to know I'm not the only one who was so disappointed in the cuts!! I thought the top 8 were all good - but yes, they clearly lost the 3 best men (bye Darius  ), and left me really with only Hannalei to root for. I like Genesee a lot - but she is the poster child for "favorite" over "best." And Jenna is (IMO), just another over-rated blonde. It's a shame, because I actually really enjoyed this season a lot - there was a return to almost the old school SYTYCD, and I really like this line up of judges. I love having Twitch on board, and even Vanessa has her place. Sure, she doesn't give much in the way of actual constructive criticism, but her enthusiasm and emotion come across as genuine. And on another note - Cat last night  OMG she is such a good sport!!! I had as my avatar on here several years ago the screen shoot of her wearing the grills (season 4 maybe?). She is never afraid to look silly or poke fun at herself. I'm with her - what does this girl have to do to win an Emmy?? I mean really, her legs alone deserve an award....yes, I'm jealous  |

I think Jensen is a terrific dancer - good in many different styles and lots of stage presence - BUT, I don't think ANY of the girls were as good as the best of the guys and for me, that was JayJay, Cole, and Darius, in that order.

Thank you guys for saying it! I was going to post something(s) along the line of what you've all been saying for the last 2 weeks. So it's not necessary to say it all again. My only addition to the "wrong cuts" discussion is that I probably liked Hannelei more than some of you, but other than that, OMG the last 2 weeks of this show is always the hardest, because the best dancers have usually been cut by then!
