Season 3 Episode 9 - "Do All Malivore Monsters Provide This Level of Emotional Insight?" - April 8, 2021 I like the story arc of MG and Josie attending Mystic Falls High School.
Liked that MG made a new friend, in the departed Sherriff's son. I don't get the animosity kids have toward the former quarterback. His arm was broken and it was cut from the team. I do like that the series is opening up to new characters.

Season 3 Episode 10 - "All's Well That Ends Well" - April 15, 2021
Josie's new girlfriend is a werewolf. mmmmm this should be interesting.
Overall enjoyed the episode as I like seeing secondary and tertiary characters develop. Makes for a much better episode and storyline.

Season 3 Episode 11 - "You Can't Run from Who You Are" - May 6, 2021
I like it when it episodes are not all Hope centric and that other's in the Super Squad solve the monster of the week problem.
It was kinda funny that Hope was the monster of the week.

Season 3 Episode 12 - "I Was Made to Love You" - May 13, 2021
Really liked the scenes between Ted and Josie those were so sweet.
In fact all the scenes between Dr Saltzman, and Ted, and Josie were just so well done. I am thinking of the hand grenade and no pin getting thrown in the coffin and exploding as well as the heart felt conversations between Josie and Ted about relationships.
MG and Ethan, I feel for Ethan but his arm was broken, he lost his football career and his team treats him like trash. I feel for the kid to have his entire identity taken from him.
Cleo is the monster....hhhhh who would have thought.

I don't know how The CW thinks this show will retain any viewers when it airs 2 episodes then you have to wait 2 weeks to see new episode and maybe see three new episodes and then wait another 3 weeks before any more new episodes air.
Well, just answered my own question, there will be 16 episodes for Season 3 and the season finale will be on June 24, 2021. So 3 more episodes.

Season 3 Episode 14 - "This Feels a Little Cult-y" - June 10, 2021
Well at least the three girls play off each other well. It used to be that Hope was the really strong one, with Josie being the weak, pathetic one, and Lizzie the crazy one. All three characters are stronger and more well balanced.
Finch vs the Alpha. I liked how the struggle or non struggle for the Alpha of the Pack was resolved. I do hope that they change some of the rules, they are so dumb, and being a werewolf in a pack comes across so bullying, so misogynistic, and demeaning.

Season 3 Episode 15 - "A New Hope" - June 17, 2021
Someone has a sense of humor. The spook of Star Wars was fun. Liked that they based it on a story from Lizzie's diary when she was 11 years old. Nice touch with the Space Ninja's and the Panda Promise.
I do like that the three girls are much more equally balanced in skills, confidence, and personality, then they were when the series started.
Liked that this episode and the previous one know how to balance humor, and ridiculous scenarios (when the girls all thought they were pandas), and it all makes sense and flows.
I liked seeing Alaric and Dorian work together and it was funny how Dorian was lambasting Alaric but just to let himself look good in front of his wife, Emma.
I do like it when the writers make references to pop culture and other movies, such as Emma saying Alaric is a hard man to quit (Brokeback Mountain).

Season 3 Episode 16 - "Fate's a Bitch, Isn't It?" - June 24, 2021
Not what I expected and yet I am not surprised as this series is good with the twists, I guess that the episode really didn't feel like a season cliff hanger for like the tease before a couple of action packed emotional tugging episodes and then the season cliff hanger.
Aria Shahghasemi as Landon Kirby does a fabulous job of playing Malivore Landon. Overall the casting for Vampire Dairies, The Originals, and Legacies have been excellent with the actors being able to rise to the level of some really good scripts, I just wish some other YA oriented shows, yes I mean FreeForms Motherland: Fort Salem could do the same. Just because the actors are young does not mean that they cannot emote and handle the nasty twist.

Super Squad continues fighting Malivore.

Season 4 Episode 2 - "There's No I in Team, or Whatever" - October 21, 2021
As much as Hope can be annoying by being the only, all powerful, know all savior of the Salvatore School and young vampire, werewolf, and witch students, she does not annoy as much as Courtney on Stargirl. I did like how the Super Squad basically made her be a team player. That must have rankled.
I do like the interplay between Hope and Clarke/Ryan.

Season 4 Episode 3 - "We All Knew This Day Was Coming" - October 28, 2021
Sometimes I want to hit Hope in the head with a 2 x 4 because she is always right and the only person to save everyone all by herself.

Season 4 Episode 4 - "See You on the Other Side" - November 4, 2021
Hope becomes the Tribrid ends up killing Landon now doesn't want to face the consequences. What a spoilt little princess.
Proud of the Super Squad, they does tons more maturity.

Season 4 Episode 5 - "I Thought You'd Be Happier to See Me" - November 11, 2021
We see Hope's real face. It doesn't come off as I like Hope that much. Hope always has had a hero matyr complex but you could always see that she felt she was special, superior even to everyone else because she is a tribrid. It could be a bit nauseating.
Nice to see Rebekah again. Liked it when she stabbed Hope.
The Triad is back just like mold.
The writers do know how to pack the episodes as MJ, Lizzie, and Jo mind dive into Alaric's head and memories. Finally validation that Alaric does love his daughters.

Season 4 Episode 6 - "You're a Long Way from Home" - November 18, 2021
The Super Squad always depended way too much on Hope's skills. I wonder why Alaric never taught self defense to anyone except Hope. What happens if something or someone nullifies your powers and you have no skillset to save yourself. That way go a lot of dead students.
I like the episodes that are not so Hope centric and not so Lizzie and Jo centric.
Poor Clarke after all this time slaved to his father able to have his own boring, normal life, and Hope pops in to wreck it. Clarke and Hope play off each other well and I would like to see them as a couple.
I predict Clarke's girlfriend, Trudy is going to be a disaster and will want to become a vampire.
I love it when supporting characters like MG are the ones that grow the most and turn out to be the most valuable characters.
The entire Ted/Necromancer, Landon in Limbo is a hoot and now Alaric is there.

Season 4 Episode 7 - "Someplace Far Away from All This Violence" - December 2, 2021
Luv'ed the Salvatore Idol game show, this series does like to poke fun at modern pop culture. While each episode is very plot heavy with several plotlines running through, the fact these season has 20 episodes can actually drag out the main plot far too long and drags the story down.

Season 4 Episode 8 - "You Will Remember Me" - December 9, 2021
This one was fun with Hope killing the witch and vampire head of the Triad and almost killing the Vampire, only to be tricked and had a Freaky Friday body switch done to her. That was so funny, someone outsmarted Hope.
I like how MG has matured but really the entire Super Squad and the school need to learn various kinds of self defense. Talking one's enemies to death through total boredom is not an effective weapon.
Alaric has been acting like an ass in Limbo, but it is nice to see the saltier side of Alaric Saltzman, Vampire Hunter.

Season 4 Episode 9 - "I Can't Be the One to Stop You" - December 16, 2021
OK, Lizzie was killed but the poster of this summary reveals something about a Heretic, nothing has been said about that in the story.
While this episode was kinda fun with Lizzie going all "I'm going to hurt Hope" manic it is full of exposition that to me just slows the story. I mean it is fun to see Aurora as Hope be tortured but it drags toward the end. I am just not interested in the Josie and Finch romance and would not even notice if they totally deleted them from the episode. These are the reasons I rather have shorter but very meaningful seasons.

Season 4 Episode 10 - "The Story of My Life" - February 24, 2022
So the season is transitioned into second part of the season with Lizzie now a vampire type called a Heretic which is a witch who becomes a vampire and can siphon magic and become more powerful. Lizzie and Hope are playing off each other and it is fun to the point they will be working together to kill Aurora. This duo can be fun as they throw a lot of snarky comments at each other.
The writers are introducing gods to the story line thru the Prometheus legend, in which a human steals fire from the gods but in this case the fire was magic. Prometheus or Ben as he prefers to be called is cursed to be attacked by monsters. It looks that Ben and Jed may be an item, but they have chemistry and there is something interesting there.
I like Vardemus, I hope we see more.
I like seeing both Cleo and MG growing as leaders for the school.

Season 4 Episode 11 - "Follow the Sound of My Voice" - March 3, 2022
Interesting romp through a carnival and an old established group of vampires that is so tertiary to the storyline.
I do like Ben and I like the Ben and Jed vibe. I won't mind seeing Jed grow past his dumb jock persona.

Season 4 Episode 12 - "Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost" - March 10, 2022
I do like how Lizzie reacts and grows from watching Hope torture Aurora to getting into an alliance with her.
As always the Limbo romance between Ted, Landon, and Alaric is hilarious as is the entire twisty ways of making sure the wishes they get from the Jinni do what they are supposed to do.
Luv'ed the ending wish twist.
What I like about this show is that they do go deeper than the normal surface stereotypes with their monsters. I do like how they have written the jinni and it was so nice to see so much adulting with all four men. The series works better when there is more adulting in it.

Season 4 Episode 13 - "Was This the Monster You Saw?" - March 31, 2022
Interesting to Hope attempting to blackmail the Super Squad into helping her and them resisting.
Good to see a bit of Jed's background. He was this stock alpha werewolf character before and it is good to see that character has more depth and layers and it only took 3.5 seasons to get to this point.

Season 4 Episode 14 - "The Only Way Out Is Through" - April 7, 2022
I do really like the last two episodes. At times the series seems to mire itself in self loathing, and a mental self harm, as it had been doing in the Hope is now a vampire lets see how low she can go. However, the last two episodes highlight that Hope is not always the one in charge and that there are other storylines independent of hers. I like the Super Squad and it is not all just Hope.
It is hard for Dr. Saltzman struggle with being the adult in charge but also having to let the kids grow up and make decisions for themselves.
It is so nice to see MG growing up. I do like how this series treats it's nerds and excepts them for what and who they are. I do like seeing the nerds grow up, acquire self confidence and see that there are other paths besides being the jock who always gets the girl in high school.
Really like the story line with Jed and Ben, the writers are handling that so well it is so swoon worthy.
Did Caleb and Cleo make a baby????
Liked the magical war game they tried, that was fun.
The side note with Jen's family and being locked away with the key inside of Ben. Does Aurora really need to wake a god?

Season 4 Episode 15 - "Everything That Can Be Lost May Also Be Found" - April 14, 2022
So is this a miring in self doubt and loathing episode before the big battle? The one episode that drags on a bit much with the main character doing a tad bit too much introspection? Yeah.
The side pots are a better. Alaric talks to his old Vampire Hunter self. Caleb and Cleo are in Atlanta to meet an old friend of his.
Then there is Aurora betraying Lizzie. What! Yeah, what about the blood oath and not being able to betray the other person?
The kicker is Ben turning on the school and Jed and releasing his father. But you kinda have to consider several days or weeks of Jed and the Salvadore school vs mellennia of torture, pain, agony, and the ability to get your first love back.

Season 4 Episode 16 - "I Wouldn't Be Standing Here If It Weren't For You" - April 28, 2022
These in-between episodes can get bogged down with too much introspection. The mix of stories and not focusing too much on one over the others was very helpful in moving this episode along.
The whole Hero Hope vs Bad Hope wasn't too bad.
Liked seeing Jeb confront Ben and save Caleb.
What is happening to Ethan?
Liked seeing Lizzie with her father.
Looks of little plotlines, little updates on relationships, the writers being twisty and then there is Landon in Limbo meeting his mother and helping her earn her coin instead of stealing it. So what happened to the Necromancer?

Season 4 Episode 17 - "Into the Woods" - May 5, 2022
Lizzie trying to figure out why MG is angry with her, with a subplot of the Pudwoogie dying and that being Ethan's fate.
Alaric trying to figure out if Ben is telling the truth and can help them.
Aurora and Ken coming to terms.
Hope trying to get Landon out of Limbo.
What Landon's contracted to work for the Ferryman for all time! But the Necromancer is free?

Season 4 Episode 18 - "By the End of This, You'll Know Who You Were Meant to Be" - June 2, 2022
I really liked the Landon story arc and liked how he was able to help Ted in the end.
At times there are too many set up episodes before the final battle with the big bad.
Liked that Jen saying her father (Ken) can manipulate his memories made Aurora pause and think a bit.

Season 4 Episode 19 - "This Can Only End in Blood" - June 9, 2022
Ken is dead.
Landon sent everyone back at great cost, but what is the cost really? The dulling of feelings, humanity?
The battle seems a tad anticlimactic with all the build up and angst over the last 3 to 4 episodes.
