I've believed most of the accusations against alleged 'abusers' --- but I have a hard time believing these allegations against Nev. We've gotten to 'know him' so well over the past 5 or 6 years --- and he just doesn't seem like someone who would act the way these allegations claim. I really hope he can clear his name. Jeez, this makes me soooo sad!!!

The allegations don't surprise me at all. Nev does NOT have a good reputation, and this dates back to his college days. The allegations also include the fact that the person was also drugged and sexually assaulted by a producer of the show. The whole thing is gross, and I hope they get to the bottom of it.

Wow! I must be the world's WORST judge of character, cause I've been watching Nev on 'Catfish' for the last 5 or so years, and never once saw any hint of his dark side. In fact, just the opposite. I always saw him as a super sweet, kind of goofy, naive kinda guy. And I always felt a little sorry for him, and was overjoyed when he met his new wife, and they had their baby girl.
Now I just feel really sad about this whole situation. Darn!!!

I am not doubting this happened but what is really going to happen 13 yrs later. The statue of limitations has to have expired on an assault case by now. All that is going to happen is that Nev will be tried in the Court of Social Media. |

That's probably true, Bearcata, but being tried in the Court of Social Media is enough to get the abuser's show cancelled! And that's a pretty big deal.
Plus, now that there's been an avalanche of accusations against various abusers, it seems like once the first person comes out and makes a claim against someone, it seems to be enough to encourage other victims to come forward as well. So maybe the original person didn't have a claim that was within the statute of limitations, other victims might be luckier.

That's interesting. So, they're separate programs, but apparently their production is related. The article says that the "Catfish Picture Company" is involved in the production, as is Ariel Schulman, who is Nev's brother (who Nev produced the ORIGINAL Catfish movie with). Glad it's all in the family, but for me, if there's no Nev or Max, I'm not all that interested in seeing the show. Especially since Charlemagne Tha God co-hosted an episode or two of Catfish, and I wasn't particularly impressed. I'll check out the 1st episode though. |

I enjoy Nev's wife on the show. She's very smart, and has a really nice, friendly way with the person who's been Catfished --- and even sometimes with the Catfish himself/herself. And she often comes up with some really good insights. I think she'd be a great partner for the show -- but she probably wouldn't want to be on it full time.

Last night's CATFISH with Laura I found annoying. Very annoying. Laura cut off Nev all.of.the.time. Nev has a very different personality then Laura. Nev is very calm, he listens so well, he lets people talk. YET Laura would either finish all Nev's sentences or while he is talking to someone, she jumps in and cuts him off. Now that Max is gone, I wish Nev would go back to celebrity guest hosts. Pleaseeee.  |
