I don’t agree that any of those were the best we’ve seen.

Maddie did a great job as the Goth singer.......She showed some real acting ability. That cracked me up. She fooled me! 😄 I wish she had been able to hold the act through the song, though, because that would have been even funnier - the song would not have gone with the costume. "the look," and of course the voice would have sounded so familiar to them that they would have been terribly confused! It would have taken tremendous acting ability, but I would have loved to have seen her do her whole song part and then just stood there waiting for them to critique her before pulling off the wig!

Maddie showed some acting chops. Still more really talented kids last night. Hollywood week is going to be brutal. Glad they didn’t put through Caleb’s buddy.

I'm happy as well they didn't put him through. Caleb knew the score once he started singing. Yes, Maddie was a scary Goth - Many good performers with good voices during the final of the auditions. I agree, Hollywood week will be brutal.

My husband is watching for the first time. The first night of auditions and sad or even otherwise back stories he said, "This isn't doing anything for me," and I had to explain to him that watching the auditions would help him to "know" the kids when it came time for both the big eliminations as well as the live shows when the public starts voting.
I agree that it is going to be VERY difficult for the judges because I think the talent that has been shown to us this year by far exceeds the talent that we had last year.
All the fantastic voices can't all be TOP 10, and yet Katie has told more than that she thinks they are.

I can't stand the sob stories. Some are really really heart-wrenching (like the girl with the brother who attempted suicide but failed and instead really messed himself up.) But I don't want to know this stuff! I want then to be judged on how well they sing, not wish for them to get a pity ticket to Hollywood because I feel sorry for them. Sometimes with the sob stories, I'm relieved when they can actually sing and do deserve a ticket based on singing. But mostly we fast forward through them...

The one story about the husband killed by someone not observing red light--I figure that will be good to remind people to not run the lights.
Otherwise, I am glad that the talent is so amazing this time. It will be tough tough tough for them. It was nice to see one of the ones from MAFS.
I am looking forward to the next part.

I am looking forward to the next part. Sorry for my ignorance, but what is that? My error. I meant 90 Day Fiance. The pretty young girl with long brown curly hair who married a man from south America. She wanted the groomsmen to spend more money on their outfits. I thought that she should have just paid for the rental fees if it was an issue since the guys probably do not understand. She also wanted a more expensive apartment when at the time, I thought neither had a job. She sings beautifully, but there are so many that are awesome. It is going to take luck.

I really liked her voice.....and then I started reading she was surrounded in controversy - of which I had no knowledge. I would like to say all of that will have no effect on anything if she gets to the Final 14 or whatever that make it to the end, but since they have to sing for the public's vote - and that becomes sometimes a popularity thing - that just might not be true. The sad thing is - and those who watch other reality shows know this - sometimes what you see is not exactly how it really was. The rationale for the editing is: "We have a show to put on, and this is entertainment TV."

I didn't see 90 Day Fiance, but I loved her audition.
A lot of it comes down to song choice. Sometimes they pick a song that really doesn't display any range or is so old and moldy without any fresh take on it....

Her husband is from Spain, not South America. I watched her season and found her very uncompromising with her new husband, who was from southern Spain where the weather is warmer and not used to the cold NH weather. He had friends in VA where he wanted to relocate.
