High Fashion to High Street - The designers visit the studio of Dapper Dan, the trailer blazer who introduced high fashion to the hip hop world. The designers create their own take on the future of streetwear with just one day to complete the challenge and impress a legend. (I'm suddenly reminded of Kenley's "hip hop" look for Leanne in Season 5...) Enjoy the show!

I like that Christian was open with his feedback. I don't like Kovid's outfit, but I respect him as a person. He realizes that the pressure of the competition got to him. Reality tv competitions aren't for everyone. With reality starts dying in the UK, I hope reality tv show producers do a better job of screening and providing support.

The challenge was a one day streetwear challenge. Winner: Bishme. Sent home: Kovid
I've been rooting for Bishme because he is a Baltimore guy from an area that is not safe. He mentioned tonight that most of the guys he grew up with have either been murdered, are in prison or are gang members. He is the only one in the competition (if I correctly recall) that does not have any formal training in fashion. Garo came in second and I would have been okay with him winning, but I am very happy for Bishme.

I looked at the show's facebook page and Tessa Clark is reading and replying to comments about her. I would have to stay away.

Either of the two bottom could have gone home if not both-----maybe the worst two ever on PR.
Love, love Christian. He really has made this job his own. He seems to spend a lot of time at the workroom---Tim appeared to have left when the models came in while CS seems to be staying through that and offering much more criticism.

Yes, either they edited Tim's time in the workroom or CS is spending more time there. I like that he does. I also liked how he fussed at those designers who were eating. Who was the one who protested the most, and ended up in the bottom? Rakan? Yep.
I'm sorry, but Kovid should have gone before this. He's a real sweetie, but this competition just isn't for him.
Personally, I liked Garo's outfit better, but I didn't mind BC winning. I was happy for him since it meant so much to him.

I wonder why they don't show Christian's critiques for all the designers. Its weird how caring the contestants are to one another... not like shows in the past.
What a colorful collection of designers ...glad Kovid is gone... I hope Rakan is next.
I did like the top 3 designs and happy for the winner

We were commenting on how much we love that. I hope they continue this way. There will be drama because things will go wrong. The contestants being so supportive is one reason we love Great British Baking Show. I love when contestants realize that helping someone else be their best, shows that they want to beat the best, not just slide by. IMO, it's competition at its finest. Winning because someone else failed isn't a good win. It's like winning a game of pool because your opponent scratched on the 8-ball. It's counts as a win, but I don't like to win that way. I'd rather win on my merits, not someone else's misfortune. It's never as satisfying to win that way.

Everybody loved Kovid at the start because he was so sunny and positive....but apparently pressure was not for him because the mood swings to tears and self-pity got old pretty fast. Glad he is gone for his sake .....and ours.

Yes, didn't they show CS just barely speaking to one designer? I can't remember who, but he critiqued somebody's choice of fabric and then kept going to the next designer. I just remember thinking, "That's it? Is he going to come back once the designer has more of the outfit made?"
I love how the designers are focusing on designing, not sniping at each other. I wonder if it will last, though, as the competition gets more intense. Garo already has his own business with an established client base. He just basically wants free advertising. I can see him getting impatient at some of the less-talented designers as we get further in. Tessa is another one who could get snarky, like Michelle from the old PR.
I liked Rakan originally, just as I liked Kovid. But yeah, he needs to go. I lost respect for him this week when he blew off Christian's remarks as they ate. CS tried to warn them that they were exercising poor judgement in how they managed their time, and what happened? Rakan basically told him to shoo, like a fly. And what happened? Rakan ended up in the bottom. Again.

I wish both Rakan and Kovid had gone home. I have yet to see even the tiniest display of talent from either of them. And, as my grandmother used to say: "They have the taste of the old woman who kissed the cow!"

I really enjoyed this episode. Everyone who knows anything about Harlem/Hip Hop knows about Dapper Dan and his contributions.
Christian is really coming into his own in the workroom. He seems to genuinely want each designer to do their best, and also calls them out when he feels like they're slacking as well. He also gets feedback from the models about how the fittings are going, and those girls don't pull any punches; note how Rakan's model told Christian that she hadn't been fitted yet as he was having lunch with a few of the other designers, lol.
Speaking of models, I think it's much more fair how they are being used; having the winning designer pick their model and putting the rest of the model cards in the workroom for the other designers to grab is a lot better than eliminating a model who unfortunately got stuck with the losing design that week. I'm still bitter about season 2's Tara getting taken from Nick only to go home because the designer who picked her made a losing design that week.
Designs were...up and down this week. Sebastian should be happy his look was safe because that genie outfit was not the business. :/I loved all top three outfits with special props going to Mimi because she is really a good case of a model taking an interesting design and elevating it to something extraordinary; Garo's outfit looked fantastic. I would have given the edge to Venny because he really knows how to make clothes on a plus size woman sing and look trendy but I have to admit that Bishme's look fit the brief to a T.
All three of the losing garments deserved to be there. I'm really tired of Rakan's attitude and really hope he goes next. Christian was trying to give him advice and he just blew it off and continued to eat; meanwhile his model (who are only there for a certain amount of time) hadn't had her fitting. No wonder he was on the bottom. The two other bottom looks were dreck but unlike Kovid's look I saw a pretty neat idea in Jamall's look that could have been fleshed out more had he had more time. The problem with Kovid's look is that the clothes don't match up to his concepts (which tend to be stronger). Kovi's a sweet guy, but as my grandmother used to say "He needs seasoning." I think he got on PR too early in his career and would have been better off applying a few years later when he's had more experience under his belt, a little more maturity, and the ability to make his work match his concepts more.
