At first, when I heard about this show, I thought I'd skip it. But, getting busy on a project and having the TV on in the background made me glad I didn't bail on tonight's show! I really liked hearing all their songs together, so instead of comparing them against each other, I could hear a collection of their body of work so far and compare their voice/singing against themselves. It struck me with Laci; I wasn't watching the screen at the time but heard a few clips of her singing in various rounds of the competition, and was more impressed than I had been before when listening to her. I looked up, wondering WHO was that?
This show helped me imagine a whole cd for each contestant and how it might sound listening to them sing song after song.
Their stories were also interesting, and the unaired footage was sometimes funny. It helped us get to know them all a bit better, which was nice.
But, is this type of show necessary? No. I'd much rather have the competition one night and results the next, and I'd also rather have the season last longer. It seems so rushed, seeing as how they told Katy there were only 3 weeks left.
This year's group is definitely a very talented group of people. Too bad there's not a tour, because it would be a great one to attend!

I thought it was a bit interesting that they didn't show us the group rounds of all the finalists. I wish we had seen them all good and bad. We did see Wade's bad one, and the fact that they put him through anyway even though he forgot his lyrics based on his body of work and gift. Alejandro told on himself that his group round was terrible. We saw a bit of it tonight. We would have understood why they put him through, too.
I enjoyed seeing the little trivia facts that the contestants told about themselves, and I enjoyed that at least at this stage they are all still so humble. I am so pleased that Jeremiah and his parents are at ease with each other again. I felt like that was going to happen, but I thought it might be closer to the end of the season. Maybe the sister was instrumental in that?

They announced that next Monday they will show Adam Lambert in his new/old gig with Queen. I don't know if it will be the full hour, but YAY!

Okay - Monday is a 2-hour documentary on Queen + Adam. Plus they will appear on the LIVE Sunday Show.

So next Sunday is another live voting, results at the end? I have to admit I prefer that to a drawn out results show that’s all filler. I also enjoyed last night’s show for all the same reasons as Navybelle. I forgot how young a lot of these contestants are. I’m very curious why we’re being told nothing about Alejandro’s family and only a nephew (cousin?) was flown out to join him in Hawaii.
