For anyone that cares to read it, here is a link to Gabby commenting about her loss & coming off as a totally spoiled child, blaming everyone but herself. It isn't a good foot to begin the tour on & maybe it's why Catie & Jurnee said they'd be voting for Maddie.
It sounds like Gabby may be a very talented but very emotionally young 18 year old which is rather unfortunate given the position she is in after this season and opportunity of Idol. Hopefully, someone steps up to mentor her quickly before it is too late.
I don't believe they have begun yet. There are a lot of personal appearances & concerts going on, but not the tour. Gaby is playing a show opening for Luke Bryan, Maddie was just at the Disney Radio Awards on Friday, Catie was on stage at the Troubador in LA with Haley Reinhardt just last week. I suspect they are practicing, but not actually touring yet.
A few years back Lady Antebellum had a huge Country hit with a song called Need You Now. Cade & Gabby have a pretty spectacular version of their own. Check it out. I think you'll have to admit this is pretty freaking good.
Something Idol related is happening on GMA tomorrow morning:
American Idol announced in June 2018 that 20 cities would be visited by the Idol bus, beginning with Orlando, Florida and San Diego, California on August 25. Auditions may also be submitted on the official website, or on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Musical.ly. During the 2018 CMA Awards, three contestants who didn't make it to Hollywood were given another chance. The contestants were Cameron Lenz, Natalee Spiroff, and Megan Woods. The winner of that vote will be revealed on Good Moning America on November 16, 2018.
^ That's basically it. It works best for ABC to run AI on Sundays and Mondays, after Bachelor ends. Last year DWTS did their shorter Athletes season after AI ended, but I guess they won't bother with another specialty season this year, and just do the regular season in the fall. Maybe DWTS Juniors was enough of a success that this will be the new pattern, DWTS and Juniors in the fall/winter.
ABC is rolling out the red carpet for American Idol. The network has set a half-hour promotional special American Idol: A New Journey Begins to air ahead of the Oscars this Sunday, February 24. In addition, ABC will air a musical performance featuring auditionees from the upcoming premiere episode and featuring Ryan Seacrest to air during the live broadcast of the 91st Oscars.
In American Idol: A New Journey Begins, Seacrest sits down with judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie to discuss the Season 2 return of the series and share a preview of this year’s crop of new talent. The panel also will answer fan questions and share behind-the-scenes secrets. It will air at 1 PM PT/4 PM ET Sunday.
As previously announced, American Idol returns for Season 2 on Sunday, March 3 at 8 PM with returning judges Bryan, Perry and Richie and host Seacrest. Multimedia personality Bobby Bones will take on the role of in-house mentor.
American Idol is produced by Fremantle and Industrial Media’s 19 Entertainment. Executive producers include Fremantle’s Trish Kinane, also serving as showrunner, Jennifer Mullin, Megan Wolflick and Industrial Media’s Chris Anokute. Fremantle distributes the series worldwide.

Is American Idol on only Sunday night? Thanks! I am still in the middle of this debacle called The Bachelor, and Colton is fixing to (finally!!) jump the fence in one mighty leap as he leaves the show, and Chris Harrison has to try and run after him in the dark! We haven't had this much fun....maybe ever! Idol can hold off just a little longer......
Evidently this week there will be 10 sing on Sunday & 10 on Monday & at the end of each night the judges dismiss 3.
I took a glance at the results of all that, and have to say, I agreed with 2/3s of the boots. That being said, I am excited about the duets, come on Pat Freaking Benatar, lol she still has chops! And then Elle King, total soft spot for her.
I agree with most of the choices....but am totally surprised by 2-3. I had my favs, those I was neutral about and some that I really didn't care for. All my favs made it, and some of the neutrals, so when those that I thought were nothing special were listed, that was a surprise. Maybe they were spectacular during the duets....we will have to see.
Song choice spoilers are out for the Top 14 if anyone cares to see them. One thing I find very intriguing...Evidently Alejandro ditches the guitar & plays piano, he may be even better on that instrument than he is on guitar.
