The above links seem to mention a lot of Christmas shows & specials, but what on earth happened to the 2020 Fall Premiers? The new Network shows? Has 2020 Fall new season just been cancelled due to Covid19? Has it been put off 'till after the 1st of the year? What the heck is going on?
I know a very few returning shows are creeping slowly back with new episodes, but very nonceremoniously. Very little promos about them, and certainly NO big FALL SEASON PREVIEW shows. I know that Covid19 threw a wrench into things, but the Soaps & Reality TV go to show us that they've been back to filming for a while now.
Anyhow, does anyone know the dirt on this? Is something coming? And when?

CBS has put out promos for most of their procedurals - debuting in a couple of weeks. No promos yet for the NCIS series of shows, but they are coming back.

I hate to appear like the village idiot, but I have no idea what a procedural is. Sounds like Doctor's or Dentist's appointment. Is that what it is? Medical dramas? Is it anything set in a Hospital location? Is it Police shows? Is it all dramas? Is it taken from the Real News shows like 20/20, Dateline, 48 Hours? Is it all of the above? What is this "procedure"? Kind of like Processed Foods. I always want to know exactly what that "process" is that they're talking about. Anyhow, inquiring minds want to know.

It is a weekly drama where there is a bad guy, search for the bad guy, and bad guy brought to justice. Sometimes in three acts in one hour; sometimes held over for story arc purposes.
I was referencing NCIS, NCIS LA and NCIS New Orleans
It could also be Bull, FBI, etc.

Thanks. I guess Dateline etc. could apply too sometimes.

Dateline is a re-enactment show based in reality. Procedural applies to fictional shows and how they are written - such as police procedural, medical procedural.
