I'm definitely still enjoying it, but after how mostly light-hearted season oone was, for season two to be this dark feels quite jarring.

Season 2 Episode 9 - "Summer School: Chapter Nine" - October 5, 2021
This season does feel as if it is dragging, and I think that I can now see that the show runners are really wanting to make each episode feel more creepy, more scary, more menacing, by using the dark lighting, the creepy music, dragging some of the scenes out way too long. However the result is me not wanting to watch and I put if off and now am going through 2 to 3 episodes in a row, that being more watchable. In previous episodes Yolanda was targeted, the next episode was more Rick and Beth centric, this episode it was Mike, Buddy (the dog), Pat, and Barbara. Now that everyone on the team has experienced Eclipso and we have seen the original JSA's solution to the Eclipso problem there will be a turning point.
Courtney continues to annoy. Really, Beth and Courtney with a weakened staff plan to attack Eclipso and defeat him. There's that cheerleader enthusiasm. Can someone hit that kid in the head with a 2x4 and a large dose of some common sense?
OMGosh, watching the JSA flashbacks are a bit hard, they treated Pat as some lowly slave with no rights and how dare he speak to a "member".

Season 2 Episode 10 - "Summer School: Chapter Ten" - October 12, 2021
Again Courtney being so judgmental and berating Pat, just like the original JSA members. Since when does an adult in a parental role owe anything to a kid besides an expectation of being taken care off. So much of Courtney's attitude mirrors kids I see now, who want all this freedom, and no responsibilities, and the parents foot the bill, and how dare the parent expect anything from the child as they are this special snowflake who deserves anything they want regardless of the cost to anyone else. Courtney doesn't listen to Pat, is impatient when he tells her anything. He didn't lie to Courtney about the JSA killing Eclipso's host. He simply did not tell her. Then she tries to dump a quilt trip on him regarding Yolanda. OMG where is the 2x4?
I do like that Barbara's superpower seems to be that both good and bad men recognize that she is a strong and understanding women who would be a great wife, mother, and life partner.
Thunderbolt is back. The gingerbread house was so funny. The season desperately needs the comic relief.
Ahh, we might have a Green Lantern added to the team.
Can't say I am that sorry Courtney got sucked into the Shadowlands.
Interesting to note in the very last scene, Pat and Jennie are cast in shadows and dark tones while the red color of Pat's car is highlighted.

Season 2 Episode 11 - "Summer School: Chapter Eleven" - October 19, 2021
Hopefully a turning point episode with only 2 episodes left can the team defeat Eclipso?
I do wonder if Matt feels overlooked/overshadowed as everyone seems to ignore his comments and suggestions?
Is The Shade truly dead?

Season 2 - "Summer School: Chapter Twelve" - October 26, 2021
The series has been slowly getting out of the dark hole of Eclipso but from the pacing of this episode I do wonder if this storyline with linger through Season 3.
The highlight of the episode is Mike finding Thunderbolt and his new "master" Jakeem.
Jennie's dream/vision was scary showing that taking over Courtney is Eclipso's end goal. I was thinking maybe season 3 will be Courtney having a reign of darkness that the team must overcome, and that might sink the series with way tooo much darkness.

Season 2 - "Summer School: Chapter Thirteen" - November 2, 2021
I liked the upbeat positiveness of this episode as lets face it, it has been a bit of a trudge getting through this season. The last 5 or so minutes do reveal that "Summer School" was a set up for the team and what looks like a fun (for the viewers at least) season 3 with the new JSA surrounded by Frenemies.

Season 3 Episode 1 - "Frenemies - Chapter One: The Murder" - August 31, 2022
Living and being friendly with you frenemies is awkward and super uncomfortable and weird.

Season 3 Episode 2 - "Frenemies – Chapter Two: The Suspects" - September 7, 2022
It's funny how painful and awkward it is for the bad guys to try to be good or at least behave.
The Shade just trying to get a good cup of tea in Middle America, terrifying the waitress.
The Tigress joining the Rotary Club and baking German Chocolate Cake with Barbara.
Sylvester being a prick over an over again to Pat.
Cindy can't help being devious and going behind the teams backs.

Season 3 Episode 3 - "Frenemies – Chapter Three: The Blackmail" - September 14, 2022
Cindy, Cindy, Cindy, always has to do it the sneaky way. Luv'ed the way Sylvester/Starman told her off and put her down to her face, priceless.
Who doesn't love a superhero vs supervillain fight in the grocery store aisles?

Season 3 Episode 4 - "Frenemies – Chapter Four: The Evidence" - September 21, 2022
Nice to see Chuck, the original Doctor Midnite again.
Rick is going to blow a gasket when he finds out Courtney is Stargirl.

Season 3 Episode 5 - "Frenemies – Chapter Five: The Thief" - October 5, 2022
Interesting to see folks try to break their old patterns.
Sylvester aka Starman loosing his temper in front of Hourman/Rick and Wildcat/Yolanda and later mentoring them.
Hourman/Rick listening to Sylvester's advice and "fixing" the Hourglass.
Wildcat/Yolanda seaching Cindy's bedroom.
Dr. Mid-Nite/Beth setting boundaries with her parents.
Cindy Burman/Shiv protecting Mike and Jakeem, giving Courtney relationship advice, interrogating Cameron.
Question: Isn't that lizard alive, I thought I saw red eyes? Yes, the one in the terrarium in the abandoned lab.

Season 3 Episode 6 - "Frenemies – Chapter Six: The Betrayal" - October 12, 2022
I like that the series shows that each person is an individual and that each person has issues in their life and trying to mess together for a common goal can be problematic.
Yolanda definitely has anger issues from the way her parents are blaming her for everything. The blame the guilt is turning her bitter and full of frustration and anger. I am glad the priest stepped in (last season) and told Yolanda's mom to "Stop It".
The indications are strong that Dragon King is behind this but that is way too obvious. I was thinking it was Cindy, but it could be Henry?

Season 3 Episode 7 - "Frenemies – Chapter Seven: Infinity Inc. Part One" - October 19, 2022.
Luv how Rick Tyler / Hourman II: is slowly or not so slowly going power mad.
Luv to see The Shade back and interacting with Courtney and Pat, he is a hoot.
Like the sparring between Jennie and Shade.
I like that the show builds on the secondary and tertiary characters.
Liked the interaction between Mike, Jakeem, and Zeke (the handyman as the garage, owns his own junkyard).

Season 3 Episode 8 - "Frenemies – Chapter Eight: Infinity Inc. Part Two" - October 26, 2022
Liked seeing the softer side of The Shade.
Like the show is not afraid of starting a story arc and returning to it much later, but gives you AHA! moments.
Bones and Nurse Love aren't the bad guys? Did not see that one coming.

FYI: deadline.com/2022/10/dcs-stargirl-canceled-the-cw-1235158715/#commentsWhat a way to kill a Network. The average age of The CW viewer is 58 but they want to create unscripted shows to appeal to an older audience. What audience is that? The soon to be DEAD? They may potentially cancel Walker and The Winchesters, who basically inherited Supernatural's audience base? What a way to kill a network. Like we need anymore reality shows as CBS's "The Real Love Boat" was so successful it lasted what, 3 episodes before they cancelled it.

Season 3 Episode 9 - "Frenemies – Chapter Nine: The Monsters" - November 2, 2022
Finally, something happens. What annoys me most about the show is at times it drags especially with Courtney and her romance with Cameron. I can only take so much angst. Courtney also annoys, she is so headstrong, so convinced she is right, and she wants all the others to go along with her point of view (POV). Give a teenager superpowers and what do you get? A super annoying teenager. Courtney's desire to share everything with Cameron is not smart. It is one thing to share your secret with someone but it is not right to put the lives of your teammates at risk just because you want to play kissy face with your crush.
In shows like this I have noticed that the underdog, the nerd sidekick becomes my favorite. Why? Because at first they feel inferior because they have either no powers or non-fighting ones. However these sidekick heroes try hard, they figure out all the ways they can use their gifts and they end up as leaders, as very well rounded humans, and sometimes the most powerful person on the team.
Fight scene had some really fascinating choreography and how cool is it to see older folks fight with and over power the teenagers.

Season 3 Episode 10 - "Frenemies – Chapter Ten: The Killer" - November 9, 2022
Better episode, lots of tension, lots of movement, lots of threats, and countermeasures.
Big bad discovered.
It's always nice to see secondary or more like tertiary figures featured in a more prominent role but there were overshadowing of danger so not that surprised at what happened.
Two Big Bad's now, but only one known and the other unknown.

Season 3 Episode 11 - "Frenemies – Chapter Eleven: The Haunting" - November 16, 2022
The Set Up, Jordan is telling everyone he wants peace. Does anyone really believe that?
Ah, the two Big Bads working together to kill everyone.
Has anyone told Cameron the whole truth, the entire truth from both sides?
I wonder if the Gambler's daughter will appear?

The final two episodes of season 3 and of the series will air on November 30, and December 7, 2022.
I heard the Riverdale and Nancy Drew are streaming on HBO Max, it looks as if the DC Universe will be assembling over there at this point. They have the Titans.

Season 3 Episode 12 - "Frenemies – Chapter Twelve: The Last Will and Testament of Sylvester Pemberton" - November 30, 2022
Wow! What a twist, so glad for the epic scene with Pat getting buried alive while Sylvester Pemberton/Starman/Ultra-humanite/Delores Winters slowly and methodically reveals the plan to destroy the new JSA.
Only negative is the lighting in the dark secret labs and in the woods, you could not see anything.

Season 3 Episode 13 - "Frenemies – Chapter Thirteen: The Reckoning" - December 7, 2022 - Season & Series Finale
Luv'ed it.
Grandma got killed by a car so on point after the previous season's scene with Icicle being smashed to pieces by a truck.
Dragon King being turned into a stuffed toy white ape ... references to The Legends of Tomorrow's Beebo??? Someone was having fun in the writers room. Later Buddy, Mike's English Bulldog using the stuffed white ape as a chew toy was so appropriate considering the Dragon King experimented on live subjects including his own daughter.
Luv'ed that Beth's parents will be her sidekicks; (Father) Nitelite and (Mother) Hooty
At first after Courtney and Cameron hug you think of that was it? Then 3 months later in Copenhagen Icicle is lured into an alley by a whisper who turns out to be Artemis. Wondered what happened to her, and is burned/evaporated? to death. The 10 years later was very nice showing the Shade in the Justice Society of America Museum and being the tour guide. That voice....just yum. Then the Golden Age Flash shows up. Very nice wrap up, very satisfying.
