They are swimming in those suits. They look so bad.
I wonder if there will be a catch up with Alex? He disappeared after this season. Probably embarrassed.

No wonder Alex picked Amanda...sexually open with a trapeze. I missed the early seasons and thought the outrageous stuff didn't start till later. Silly me

Shannon is a bit much. Seriously...although I get her feelings about the FD card. It is smarmy. Was then and continues to be more each year.

Ugh, Demi (and another past contestant) give their opinions on some of the fashions over the years.

I missed this season, but it is obvious why Alex picked Amanda over Trista. Amanda was the hot sex fantasy. He couldn't keep his hands off her. Trista was the typical slow burn who never wins.

How dare does Demi critique anyone's fashion sense wearing that velvet thing with those 80's sleeves.

I really don't know why Cassie even bothered to come on the show. What did she think they were going to ask her about? The whole segment was just stupid. If she didn't want to talk about Colton and the break up then she should not have come on. IMO she was trying too hard.

That was a buzz killer from Trista to poor Charlie. She started off about her little voice and how great everything was. Poor guy thought he had it and then came the "but". He was very gracious.
Jeeze...I would not have recognized Charlie. He looks so different.

Crazy listening to those helicopters buzzing that wedding.
My friend Carrie had watched the Bachelor from the beginning and loved Trista and got me to start watching Trista's season...sort of. Trista annoyed me with that voice and could only handle small dozes, but I watched the wedding. It was such a huge deal back in the day.
I wonder why Ryan started with the Denver fire department. I wonder what happened in Vail.

Watching Amanda now, she seems kind of p*ssed she missed out on all the opportunities...Playboy, show biz. I don't know, since I never watched that season, but she come across as bitter and hard to me in that segment. She is another one who I wouldn't have recognized.
Double dose of Brad in two weeks. CMA Best of Fest next week.

Oh, thanks Midol I wasn't sure what was up for next week, that we wouldn't get to have the Greatest of All Time (haha). I enjoyed watching tonight's episode, from all the bad fashion choices and hair issues, to the bad sound and lighting, disappointing date locations, and then to watch a real, true love story that we know worked out! I remember back in the day being so disappointed that she didn't choose Charlie (loved me some Charlie), but she made the right choice and they've got a nice family, and Charlie's got a nice family too. Surprised me how many of her men I recognized, like it was yesterday! And yes, Charlie did look completely different to me too. Alex was such a dork (sorry to be name-calling!); I had to laugh when that one nasty girl got eliminated and threw some of the girls under the bus, saying about Trista that she's hoping he will grow on her (so, not there for the right reason!). I guess he did by the end, but not by a lot. I doubt they would have made it, and I'm not surprised he and Amanda didn't make it either, though the way she said they stayed together long distance for over a year was a surprise to me. I'd read somewhere that she was married but she sure didn't mention the guy tonight, only her daughter ... hmmm! I couldn't believe she threw out that Playboy offer, too, so we'd know about it. How tacky. Shannon was fun to catch up with! She admitted she didn't come off well at the end, but explained they'd had some conversation off-camera so she was surprised/shocked. It was refreshing to hear some of these contestants be more cautious about the kissing and staying together in the fantasy suite! I thought many of them were much more genuine and natural, not like today's contestants who are too slick/prepped for TV and given things to say. When they could speak freely, and say what they wanted to say, it made for a much more enjoyable and relatable show. I did enjoy not seeing all the fake lashes and tons of makeup too (and I personally LOVE makeup, but they just over do it). Seeing Cassie try to avoid answering Chris' questions was just awkward. I felt bad for her. It was obvious from both of their posts on Instagram that they DON'T want to talk about it. I thought for sure they'd have Bob Guiney on to catch up with! Oh, and what's with everyone's GORGEOUS kitchens?? Is that a prize they gave out for being on TV? I couldn't believe how many of them had designer kitchens on tonight's show. Jealous - yes. 20 million people tuned into Trista and Ryan's wedding? Wow! Those helicopters were just awful, though, making so much noise. I remember when it happened and felt so bad for them both. While I'm not excited about seeing either of Brad's seasons, I do like watching any of the older ones. I wonder who's after that, then, Emily or Deanna maybe?

I enjoyed tonight's show. I would have preferred a little less of Alex's season & a little more of Tristas. It's nice to see that back in the day the contestants behaved so much more natural & real. They were way more likeable that way. Now they are so phony & rehearsed & so tacky. The women especially. I think now the show casts for drama & extreme characters & trashy acting women. Back then they seemed more mature & like a real cross section of women (except for the racial cross section that didn't seem to exist). Now it's more like they want to be noticed on TV at any cost. The men were better back then too. More like the kind of men women would love to meet. Now, they all seem like phonies who want to be on TV. Cassie shouldn't have been on. That was awkward. What the heck did she think he'd be asking her? A waste of time. Brad's seasons are next. I never cared for Brad. I always got the feeling he felt like he was doing those women a favor by bothering with them. Quite a bit stuck on himself. I'll probably watch, at least for a while, but knowing that both seasons ended up as a disaster makes them much less appealing. Anyhow, I loved seeing Trista & Ryan & family. I wish them a continued happily ever after. Nice to see a couple who went on to a real life with real jobs, rather than those who hawk junk on the internet from their bedrooms & try to become "internet personalities".

Word to your entire post, especially the bolded. I have watched this franchise since the beginning, only missing a few seasons, like Jesse Palmer,& the English guy Matt something. However, I found myself not remembering a lot of what happened during Alex Michel's season. Now I am wondering if I just don't remember or perhaps I started tuning in later during the first ever season. I do remember Amanda and Trista in the final 2 but I don't remember a lot of what was shown. I do feel they spent too much time on Alex's season and too much filler like the fashion show critiques, which was silly, imo. Go away, Cassie, you provided nothing of interest. Time was taken away from Trista. I found it hysterical to watch Trista's reaction to that guy's NYC studio. I can't remember his name but he wrote music and sang end he seemed to be a contender UNTIL she saw his cramped Manhattan digs. I don't remember where Trista is from, but I'm guessing she's not one for living in a densely populated city. I don't know if Vail is a large city but I'm sure they have a lovely home there. Speaking of which, I wonder why Ryan is switching to the Denver Fire Department? Trista made it sound like he was in the academy, which I found strange. He's been a firefighter for years. Would he not be able to just get another firefighting job in a different city if he met the requirements? I was rooting for Charlie although I thought Ryan was a great guy and very sweet. Physically Charlie was more my type. But I was shocked when I saw him last night. He did not look anything like he did all those years ago. I wouldn't have recognized him. He's got to be pushing 50 and he has such a young wife and child. I wonder if this is his first marriage. I also wondered if Amanda was divorced. She only mentioned a daughter and nothing of a spouse. Next week we get Brad version 1 and 2. I know she wasn't everyone's cup of tea but I'd love to see Jillian's season; she was so much fun!

I found an old interview from tvshowsace.com Ryan says, "I recently teamed up with BIC Lighters. I retired from the fire service last June after 17 years and I obviously still care about fire safety. There are many non-BIC lighters out there that aren't safe.... I'm also currently working for a custom home builder--Vail Custom Builders--and own a share of a small coffee roaster, Bearded Man Coffee." The interview is dated May 6, 2019

I was looking at Wikipedia to see if it said anything about Ryan's job change, and I noticed that it said he's only 6'1." I figured he must be at least 6'3" given the way he towers over Trista. She must be teeny!
