You're welcome!
I've fallen into the Simpson and Vail site and can't get out! They have SO MANY teas! I'm trying to stay under $100, but it's very hard.
I'm getting a sampler of their holiday teas and a bunch of 2 oz bags of other flavors. They have some wonderful treats too - chocolate, cookies, baking mixes. I'm in over my head!

Well, I'm 8 days into my Adagio advent calendar and I love it! I think next year I'll get the loose tea instead of the teabags. I assumed they put the same teas in both advent calendars, but when I looked at the website, the lists are different and the loose teas look much more in line with what I prefer. Still, it's fun to get a surprise tea every day. Some have been great, one I gave to my mom and one neither of us wanted (hello, camomile!). It's definitely a nice way to try a bunch of different teas. I also got my order from Simpson and Vail and OMG, I already want to reorder! I got a sample box of their holiday teas, which would make a great gift, They do sample boxes of several different lines of tea. They come in a really nice box with tissue paper and I think all of the boxes have ten bags of tea. I also got some of their dessert teas and, so far, the chocolate caramel black tea is my favorite. Seriously drool-worthy! You can't see in the picture, but it says "Christmas" down the handle.

Did anyone else get a bunch of tea for Christmas? Along with my Tea Snob mug, I got a bag of Art of Tea's Earl Grey Creme and it is SO good. Unfortunately, it's also $39 for a 4oz bag, so I'm forcing myself to ration it.
It's going to look so cute when I get it put together!

I have been meaning to come back here for like FOREVER!!! CHRISTMAS TEA UPDATE!!! Critical ..... introducing me to ADAGIO has been AMAZING!!! I bought so much tea from THAT site and gave them MOST of them as Christmas gifts!!! Well everyone, my MOM, my SISTERS and my 2 GF's were BEYOND IN LOVE with ADAGIO TEAS!!! After Christmas one of my GF's is calling me saying she is almost out of MOONLIGHT and needs more but it is SOLD OUT. The site said JAN before it will be back in stock. I literally had to send her some MOONLIGHT to keep her happy. She FREAKED when it arrived. My MOM LOVES LOVES LOVES the RED MUG with the DIFFUSER and I send her the LOOSE ENGLISH BREAKFAST and she loves it!! Oh GF texted me the other day that MOONLIGHT is back in stock and she can breathe easier now. Now for Christmas my DIL gave me a whole pile of fancy teas and while they are LOVELY .... they are not ADAGIO or PJ TIPS. She got them at WORLD MARKET. There was allot of fruity teas which I am not a fan of so those went to one of my SIS' as she is totally in to ANYTHING and EVERYTHING tea. This particular SIS is not picky at all. And she takes them to work and shares them. She is a NURSE. From DIL I kept the ORANGE BLACK TEA and a ENGLISH BREAKFAST which I will have for "back up" if I find myself low on my usual STASH. p.s. Our WORLD MARKET closed here in Orange on DEC 31st. Critical, the WONDERLAND MUG is a BEAUTY!!! AND the MINI TEA HOUSE......please take a pic and share with us when you have completed it.

momrek06 - I LOVE Adagio's Earl Grey Moonlight! The Earl Grey Cream from Art of Tea is really similar. I'm so glad you love Adagio! They're one of my favorites. I've been buying from them for, gosh, maybe 20 years, I think. (I feel old now! ) I've been buying since before they switched to plastic bags - they used to put their loose teas in canisters. I found a few in my cabinets last year when I cleaned out a bunch of stuff. My favorite Adagio tea right now is the My Dear Watson fandom tea, which is a chocolate Earl Grey. It's fantastic. Those little cups with the infuser are so cute, but since I literally bought THREE new mugs this Christmas, I'm not allowed to buy any more! My breakfast cup is in my new mug from the New York Public Library. It's not fancy looking, but it's the perfect size. Plus, LIBRARY! NYPL Bistro MugI'd definitely recommend Simpson and Vail tea too. Great selection and really great prices. I got SO much for my money. They also have some killer scone mixes and other goodies too. I'll definitely post a pic of my tiny tea house (I think it's maybe 4" tall!) when I finish it. I think the kit comes with tools, but I also have tons of jewelry tools, if those don't work out. I love working with metal, so if this one comes out and is easy, there's a little bookstore too!
ETA: AliExpress has a ton of cute metal signs with tea adverts or sayings on them. I'm already planning which ones I'm buying and where I'll hang them in my kitchen!

I finally used my Tea Snob mug for the first time this week (I waited to use it until I got home from my parents' house) and I LOVE IT. The handle feels so good in my hand and it really keeps my tea warm. It's got a really nice powder-coat finish. The brand of the cup is Miir and I went to their website to see what else they make and OMG, I want more! They have a copper cup that is gorgeous, but out of stock or I probably would have caved and bought it right there!
My cup is the 12 oz camp cup. They have some really pretty speckled ones too. Like I need another cup!
I may have just bought my final case (6 boxes) of Tazo Butterscotch Blondie black tea. I first got it at a Ross, where they sell discontinued flavors. I've bought a 6-box case before and just got another one on ebay. I'm torn between drinking it every day and rationing it!

Critical ....... OMGOSH I love your CAMP MUG!!! The reviews are AMAZING!!! My DC DIL gave me the prettiest tea mug for Christmas with one of those ceramic lids........lovely gift but that does not keep my tea as hot as I hoped at all. LOVING THE RED SPECKLED MUG!!! And YES the COPPER is gorgeous!!! In reference to your TAZO Butterscotch Blondie, I am finding (no clue if its covid doing this) but I rarely see the P&G Tips in Mother's anymore. Sprouts NEVER carried it. WHY do you think teas are discontinued? Bizarre when TEAHOLICS love a brand and flavor of tea and then it is gone. World Market carried it but those stores are now all closing. But THANKFULLY, I have the E.G. MOONLIGHT so the low stock on P&G's is not bothersome for me. I love all the emails ADAGIO sends out!!! They do a great job keeping us TEAHOLICS updated!!! And it's always a reminder to me to check my stock!!! OT I meant to tell you I am THRILLED that M&D finally got their vaccines!!! Such peace of mind for you!!!

momrek06 I haven't seen anything about World Market closing its stores. I even looked for news stories and all I could find was that they were bought by the company that owns Bed, Bath and Beyond in January. The ones near me are still open. I hope they don't close. I love WM. I've shopped there since it was just Cost Plus! We did curbside pickup at the one in Bella Terra while I was visiting my folks.
I LOVE my Tea Snob Mug! The red speckled one is very tempting and so is the copper one. Since I got three new mugs at Christmas, I need to pump the brakes on getting more. I'm running out of cabinet space!
I'd be super shocked if they discontinued something as basic as PG Tips. They carry it everywhere. Try Target or even Amazon. I agree, it's super frustrating when companies discontinue flavors. Tazo tends to do limited edition teas, which can be annoying if you end up really liking a flavor. Numi discontinued their chocolate teas a few years ago. I loved their chocolate Earl Grey and it took several years to find a substitute on Adagio. I commented on Numi's FB about how disappointed I was that they stopped making that tea and they basically replied with a "sorry, not sorry" and directed me to other teas that make that in no way resembled the chocolate EG
Republic of Tea is giving away a free canister of their British Breakfast with a $30 purchase (ends on 3/21!). I already had planned on restocking on a few things, so that's a win! I wish I could afford a 250 bag pack the HiCaf Caramel Black, but $58 is a lot at the moment.
Yes, I'm beyond relieved about my folks getting vaccinated. Now I just have to wait until I can get it!

Oh maybe then just Orange closed Critical. I love WM and back after the holidays were winding down residents of Orange on our FB page " Orange Buzz" (neighborhood FB page) said WM is closing for good 12/31/20. www.yelp.com/biz/cost-plus-world-market-orange I figured they all were closing. So that is awesome they all didn't close. I wonder why just Orange? I loved going in there. Holy Toledo.......great idea on AMAZON. They are selling P&G TIPS 240 tea bags for $13.00. I crap at math but doesn't that mean 6 cents a cup? I never even gave Amazon a thought. On TAZO thank goodness they have never touch AWAKE because I love that tea!!! But seriously, though, MOONLIGHT has captured me, my GF, Joanne and my Mom!!!

momrek06 , I usually try to NOT buy everything on Amazon, but during the pandemic, I just have given myself permission to do what I have to do. Once I'm vaccinated, I'll feel a bit more comfortable venturing out into stores a bit. So sorry about your World Market. Is the one in Santa Ana close to you? Brea? I was about to place an order with Republic of Tea and then just realized I really don't want to spend that much money. Even with nearly $50 in tea, I still hadn't gotten to the free shipping amount, which is $59. I just don't want to spend that much. One of the teas I'm out of is the HiCaf Caramel Black, which I generally use when I really need to be up and AWAKE, like before work events. I don't have one work event on my calendar until at least September. Plus, even though they're giving the British Breakfast away for free with a $30 purchase, I have a whole canister of it right now. I ended up looking at World Market for the few teas I wanted, although they don't have the Cinnamon Plum black tea that I've wanted to try. I can get that another time. Anyway, if you order from WM and do curbside pickup, you automatically get 10% off right now. I'm going to do that instead and get the few teas I wanted. No shipping fee AND the prices on two of the three flavors are actually cheaper than from RoT. Oh, and I can buy a few scone mixes too! I just have to talk me out of buying Indomie noodles!
I doubt Tazo would ever discontinue their basics like Awake and Zen (one of my favorites). IIRC, Awake is an English Breakfast. I don't think that's going anywhere. They've done some dessert teas over the years, but the only one I've tried is Butterscotch Blondie. I'm sort of worried to try any of the others because I think they're ALL discontinued. I don't need to want more teas I have to get on ebay!

I love my in-cup tea infuser, but I went browsing around on AliExpress, just out of curiosity. How cool is this one!? Creative Reusable Tea Infuser
I've never seen anything like it. I'm tempted to buy it just to see if it works. It's so cheap. I also think I'm going to buy this set of tongs for squeezing out tea bags. It's just so cute! And SO cheap! Stainless Steel Teabag Tongs
They have a bunch of infusers I've seen for much more money online and in stores. Like that one that's a guy sitting in a hot tub. I also found what looks exactly like my favorite in-cup infuser and it's only $2.10! Stainless Steel Tea Infuser I'm sure this is where they actually come from, so buying it from AliExpress is just cutting out the middle man.
I bought some of Republic of Tea's Cinnamon Plum black tea and it's pretty good. Not so much cinnamon and more plum, but still good. I really like this cinnamon tea I got in Alaska and, in lieu of spending a ton of money on shipping, I've been hunting for something similar. I have a feeling I'm just going to end up buying the real thing and just dealing with the crazy shipping charge.

I had lunch with a friend today and this friend always brings me tea whenever she travels - from Vienna, Japan, Italy, wherever. Today, she bought me tea from India, which is the last vacation she took right before the shut-down (she literally got home within a few weeks of everything closing up). It's sealed up well, so it's perfect. AND, it's white tea, so I can have it right now! I'm off caffeine for a while, so I'm sticking to herbal and other teas without caffeine. I'm so excited to have a cup of this stuff! It smells amazing. I also placed an order - the first in a few years - with August Tea. I got three herbal and one green. Reviews to come

I got my August Tea order today and have already tried two of the four teas I bought. I'm SO happy with them! I got: * Far Afield - an herbal blend of sage, mandarin orange and ginger - AMAZING * Days of Heaven - rhubarb, lemon verbena and camomile - I think I DO like camomile and this one is lovely with the rhubarb and lemon * Know by Heart - white tea with orange blossom, almond and honey ( justCoz - it's REALLY good!) * Combray - green tea with vanilla and cardamom If you sign up for their emails and/or text messages, they send you a 15% off coupon code. They have free shipping for orders over $30, so that code came in handy. I'm still really watching it with my caffeine, so I'm going to have to wait on the Combray for a while. There's a Republic of Tea flavor that my cousin loves that is really similar to Combray but is black tea. Now that she can't drink ANY black tea, I always try to find her green, white or herbal options. If this one is good, then I know what to get her for her birthday! The white Darjeeling my friend brought me back from India is incredible. I was surprised to see the instructions on the package say to use boiling water, but maybe that's because it's a Darjeeling. Either way, it's so good. The company doesn't have a website and has ZERO internet presence (beyond the business information like name and address on various sites), so this is the last I'll get unless I want to FLY to Delhi to buy it myself!

Critical that white tea sounds delicious! Hmm, my son-in-law likes good teas. They're coming to visit so maybe a good reason to splurge! It's really lovely. I normally put a bit of honey in my white tea and I did that with my first cup of this tea. I don't think I'll do that next time. The almond and honey bring enough sweetness to it on their own.
August is a little more expensive, but it's really special and they do give discount codes pretty regularly. I got four 4oz bags of really good loose tea for under $35 (I think it was something like $33.97) with the 15% off coupon code.
They have so many different types of tea that they probably have something for every tea drinker. They do have several samplers available AND small sample bags of each flavor, so you can try out blends you aren't sure of. My favorites are Big Easy, which is a green tea with pineapple, lemongrass and barley, and Painted Desert, a black tea with dark chocolate and chili.
If you order, definitely pick of one of their tea spoons - they're 49¢! - in the teaware section of their site.
I seriously don't work for them or anything. I just love their tea!

Critical that Combray sounds like something I'd love...I guess it's time for another order from them. I need some more green teas anyway, I'm running low. And I have a mint plant that's going crazy, I might try making some fresh mint tea and see how that tastes.

I'm not the biggest mint flavor person but when she would crush a fresh mint leaf into my tea that really was so delicious. I didn't think she made tea from them, just used as a flavor with the tea, but that was so refreshing.

I haven't tried Combray yet because I'm still avoiding caffeine. I will say that it smells amazing!
My grandmother had practically a HEDGE of spearmint at her house. Any time I smell it now, it reminds me of her. I've never been able to grow mint here. I plant it, it starts looking good and then I go out one morning and it's all been eaten. The leaves are all gone and just the veins are left. It's a bit demoralizing! I do live fresh mint in things, but I have to buy it instead of growing it.

HI TEAHOLICS!!!!! Sadly, I am finding myself having to CUT BACK on my TEA and SODA w/caffeine consumption. I started this about 4 weeks ago. I now make sure NO caffeine at all after 4pm. (But I love caffeine in my hot and cold beverages). I generally go to bed by 11pm. So I figured that my last cup of tea WITH caffeine at 4pm gives me a solid 6 hours before bed. I was having way too many evenings having trouble falling asleep. I knew it was the caffeine but I was in denial. BUT believe it or not, this new revelation of no caffeine IS WORKING. I have been watching my Long Beach grandbabies alot lately and I need to SLEEP AT NIGHT to give me the energy during the day that I need to care for them. So because of Critical introducing me to ADAGIO, I knew that was the ONLY site that would make me a tasty caffeine free tea. Ohhhh my my my DECAF CHAI is to die for. I only have it IF IF IF I really want tea to sip in the evenings. (I use their bags not the loose tea.) Otherwise I have Polar Springs no caffeine sparkling water.

And I mean wide awake, not tired at all until about 2am!

I'm off caffeine for the foreseeable future - less for sleep issues than for heartburn - but there are a ton of caffeine-free options. momrek06 - Adagio is the first place I went when I had to temporarily give up caffeine back in the early 2000s. They have sampler packs now, but don't seem to have the decaf tea one that I got. They used to pack them in cute little canisters too and I'm sure those have been replaced by bags. They still have lots of great decaf teas. Right now, I'm sticking to just herbal and then decaf Typhoo every few days. Experience tells me that I have to fully detox and wait at least a month and then I can dip my toe into the caffeine pool a little. UGH. I miss my good black tea!

The other thing I am off of for good (having nothing to do with TEA) but I used to always take 1 Excedrin when I had a headache. It worked GREAT. But due to its caffeine, nope no more. Sticking just to Advil. There have been times in the past year that the 1 Excedrin made me jumpy. Def took away the headache but left me feeling hyper.

Sticking just to Advil. There have been times in the past year that the 1 Excedrin made me jumpy. Def took away the headache but left me feeling hyper. It was really a process of elimination that took a while. I first started getting Acid Reflux in maybe 2005/2006. I was drinking a fair amount of Diet Pepsi and I thought that was the problem. It probably was part of the problem, since it has caffeine and carbonation isn't great for heartburn/AR issues either. I did some reading about AR and then I dropped tea and the Diet Pepsi (I still can't drink any brown cola). It still took over a year for the symptoms to really go away. I also added and subtracted various foods from my diet to see what caused a reaction. I still stay away from super rich foods (and that's not just dessert-type foods). There was a fabulous dish I made in the slow cooker with ground beef, green olives and seasonings like paprika, cumin and cinnamon (and i think maybe some tomato paste) that did me in. Alas. It was so good over couscous. Still, not worth that pain.
Anyway, the issues always come back if I'm not paying attention and drink too much tea. A few summers ago when it was super hot and I was drinking lots of iced tea, the AR came back and was awful. Last summer, I dealt with heartburn, but not AR and the culprit was iced tea. I don't think it was the iced tea, per se, but the added caffeine on top of the hot tea I was already drinking.
Typhoo is just a brand of tea. It's similar to PG Tips, which I used to drink too.About five years ago, a friend turned me on to their decaf black. I just prefer Typhoo's decaf to the PG Tips decaf. It's still not the same as a good cup of English Breakfast, but it helps scratch the itch. I do like that Typhoo seals the teabags in stacks of 40 (they come 80 bags to a box), so I think the tea stays fresher.
Right now, I'm sticking to herbal and the occasional cup of Typhoo decaf for a while. I do feel better, but I know that if I go back to caffeine too soon, those symptoms will come right back. I have to wait until everything settles down and then I can carefully add it back to my routine. I'm choosing to look at it as trying out some new caffeine-free options rather than be upset about what I can't have.

Critical , WOW, BRAVO to you for figuring this all out on your own. AND YES in you taking baby steps to getting better and better. I am the biggest Diet Pepsi addict EVER. (I have reduced that to one LARGE glass at lunch). I will say I have tried their caffeine free Diet Pepsi and it really is good. But I am proud of you for putting a serious HALT on everything and anything that may affect your stomach. We all have certain foods and beverages we love but hate us. I am shocked at my stopping everything caffeine related after 4pm BUT I AM DOING IT. It's about my energy level and lack of sleep at my age (menopause) when I am so busy with school or the grandbabies I just cannot handle being exhausted due to being awake half the night. Hmmm....I never gave decaf P&G Tips a thought. What herbal flavor's do you like? Are you feeling you would prefer HERBAL to DECAF? Edited to clarify .... do you like flavored decaf herbal tea better than black decaf?

momrek06 - I don't really have a favorite - I like decaf and herbal. It really depends. Lately, since I'm still off caffeine, I have a cup of Yogi's ginger tea. At night, I've been having a cup of Zhena's rooibos caramel chai. I've also been drinking Yogi's echinacea immune support tea, which has echinacea, peppermint, lemongrass and licorice. There are a bunch of my other favorites upthread, but these three are the ones I'm drinking right now. I bought this green tea blend when we were in Fairbanks on our cruise trip and I've wanted more of it ever since. I finally found it on sale at a store in White Pass. I bought some for me and for my cousin. It is SO good!

Like I mentioned in my last post, I've been drinking Zhena's caramel chai for the last week or so and am about to run out. I went last night to see where I could buy more and the company is GONE! I can't even find any of the tea on ebay. There's no website or FB page. Only an old Twitter. The owner seems to have moved on and is now making healing teas or some crystal-gazing stuff. NO caramel chai I'm so bummed. It is so good! I also have some of their coconut chai and vanilla chai, but neither of herbal, so I can't have any at the moment. It's crazy that a company like that can just disappear. They were in tons of stores, including World Market and at least one big grocery chain in my city, so it's not as if they were just selling via their own website. I ordered some Tazo decaf chai, but it's not caramel My Alaskan tea came and is smells SO good! It's sencha, so I can't have any yet (caffeine), and it's killing me!

Critical, first of all I am so impressed with your diligence in staying off caffeine. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I love it but I have kept my vow to nothing with caffeine after 3pm. And I sleep good at night. TOTAL BUMMER on the Zhena’s carmel chai but awesome on the OTTER-LY DELICIOUS. Soon you will be able to enjoy that when you are ready to go back to caffeine. On your Echinacea tea (Yogi) (which by the way sounds amazing) is that caffeine free? (I am guessing yes). Darn it, my Sister made me caffeine free tea nightly when we were all in Maine staying at my parents home…….it was so good (being nighttime) I had to ask her twice “is this caffeine free” yup she said. I meant to write the name down. I will call her to give me the name of it.

Aside from the fabulous white tea my friend brought me back from India, I haven't had any caffeine for at least a month. It gets easier, although I went to pull a canister of decaf off the shelf and accidentally grabbed some English Breakfast. I realized my mistake right away, but not before I'd opened the canister and smelled the tea. I practically moaned it smelled so good I do miss caffeine, but the heartburn isn't worth it. I'll be off it for at least another month. Unfortunately. At least it's summer and not the dead of winter when all I want is a big mug of rich black tea. I got a box of Tazo's decaf chai and it's pretty good, but it's very spicy. Lots of cardamom. The Zhena's chai is really smooth. I only have one teabag left I normally like all kinds of chai (and I HAVE all kinds of chai), but nothing is like that caramel chai. How dare she close that business when I want tea!

It's that time again: Adagio's Tea Advent Calendars are available! I did the teabag one last year, but I'm ordering the loose tea this year. I thought they each had the same teas, but when I saw the list (of course, after I'd already ordered), it was clear that the loose tea selections were much more to my taste. I"m sort of horrified that it's already time to buy something for December, but I'm excited to try this year's teas!
I'm still largely caffeine-free. It's been over 3 months. I've had a few cups of English Breakfast over the last month or so, but I'm trying to REALLY make sure I'm over the heartburn/acid reflux issues again. It's still mostly ginger tea and Tazo decaf chai right now, with some throat care tea and licorice root tea occasionally.
