Agreed on Lolo - she devastated her partner with her mean comments. He seems so sweet. She is not. I thought she was pretty mean to Theresa.

I haven't liked her since she was on CBB2. She's got temper/anger issues.

Season 36 Episode 7 - "Die Another Jay" - January 27, 2021 Sorry but that title was so spoiler that it made watching the episode kinda boring.
I give Theresa and Jay kudos for making a big move, the problem is don't tell anyone they are safe or if they are going in. If you don't say anything no one can accuse you of lying to them.
Big Duh! The game format is based on spying which is about lying, so why is everyone upset that people are lying?
Kam annoys me. She acts as if she is all. While she is smart, she is upset someone is as smart or smarter than her. If she could have done what Theresa had done she would have done it in a second. Both Kam and Tori have not been in the game long enough to act as if they are the Old Guard and deserve that kind of respect. Kam should be thanking Theresa for having the opportunity of getting a Gold Skull.
Leroy has been floating through this game for 12 seasons on Johnny Bananas coat tails. He doesn't make any decisions for himself, he has no game play. When has he ever had any fire in his eyes to win anything. Everyone likes him cause they don't consider him a threat. Now he has Kam do to his thinking for him.
Absolutely hope both Kam and Leroy DO NOT get into the finale. I want them to lose it, lose it, lose it. I want to revel in their misery. I want to laugh at them when they cry over their failure.

I honestly do think Devin is smart enough, political enough, can strategize, can do puzzles, to get to a finale. Can he win? Well if he had the endurance I think he would have a shot. However he can be so mean and stupid and vindictive that I really want one of his pokees to just punch him in the jaw.

So this is the first season of The Challenge that I've watched. Given that, I did find it refreshing that TJ changed up the rules just before elimination.....not counting the votes of any of the guys who did not try in the helicopter challenge. Made me think of TAR and how it boring it was to watch with everyone helping everyone. One quick change up of the rules would get everyone's attention in a hurry, I would think. Has this kind of thing happened before? (Contestants not trying and/or TJ changing up the rules last minute.)

Has this kind of thing happened before? (Contestants not trying and/or TJ changing up the rules last minute.) Rules and attitudes have changed over the years. There have been massive physical fights and no one thrown out and there was a stupid scuffle between Josh, Fessy, Kyle, and Devin and they are told to behave. Really? There have been times when the cast knew the rules of the game so well, they have deliberately allowed a particular person to win ala Aneesa and Fessy winning the first challenge but this is the first time the producers pulled a "if you don't play you don't vote" rule. The producers have also been wishy washy on their stand toward bullying, sexism, and racism. How they treat people has varied over the years. I did like the rule change and I wished there had been a different outcome.

I was a little taken back that Josh wasn't booted after pushing Devin, so thank you for explaining that Bear. Looking back, MTV really hasn't had a stellar record with the above.
I too liked the rule change but didn't like the outcome. Holy wow! They were both fast, but c'mon, that was nuts. I don't even know if I have the right muscles in my body to even move once.

There is a big difference between shoving/pushing and hitting. That one time CT went off in a drunken rage against Adam was mainly CT chasing Adam around the entire house with everyone trying to stop him. I don't remember if anyone was actually hit but the rage was real and deadly. Then there have the Camillanator's drunken rages where she threw furniture and the last time spat racial slurs into a cast mates face and that got her removed. In the case of Devin, I don't know should he be thrown off for being an instigator? Lets face it people do watch the show to see stupid drunken behavior and many of the cast has lived up to the bad behavior as it gives them camera time.

Season 36 Episode 8 - "A Muddy Matter" - February 3, 2021
I totally feel CT's frustration during the daily challenge. If this was an individual challenge I have no doubt in my mind that CT would have won, but putting Big T against Kam and expecting her to win? Well I don't think that was going to happen. Also in last week's episode when Big T and CT were carrying the log over 5 miles she commented in her confessional that she does not run at all. I am sorry how do you think you can win this competition??? OK Devonne Simone made in into a finale and came in third (last place) but everyone had to wait a couple of hours on top a freezing cold mountain waiting for her to finish so it can be done.
I also listened to a interview with Kam and Leroy saying that they are deliberately keeping Big T and CT together because that way Big T and CT won't have an opportunity to go in and give CT a chance to win a Gold Skull.
I must admit the elimination was one of the funniest I have seen in a long time. I was surprised that Josh could do a slider puzzle. He has strength so he did the crate pull correctly and didn't have any problems overturning it. Then the comedy started. OMG, I really thought that Mechie could catch up and potentially win, which would have been epic and so a challenge moment.
At this point in the game all the Men's Gold Skulls have been given out. This is a very long season with 18 episodes and we are only on episode 8. There are 4 men left with no Gold Skulls and that would be CT, Cory, Darrell, and Nam. All powerful dudes. Nam is an unknown element but he looks like a total threat in a competition. Poor Josh and Devin will be targeted for potential Gold Skull steals. This should be fun. However I don't think Fessy, Kyle, or Leroy should consider themselves totally safe.
There are ten ladies left and only two have Gold Skulls: Aneesa and Kam. Of the remaining eight ladies: Kaycee, Nany, Theresa, and Lolo are capable athletes, Amber B, Amber M, and Gabby are unknowns, and then you have Big T. Do I think people will target Aneesa, yes, but she does well in eliminations, all she has to do is sit on you and you are finished. At this point you have eight people and 3 Gold Skulls. Politics and winning the daily challenge will dictate what teams will be able to compete for the remaining Gold Skulls. It will be interesting to see what happens. Will there be any team eliminations?? Will there be any change up in the remaining teams??
As a side note if Lolo has the opportunity to change partners I think she will but I don't think she can get along with anyone.
Nam will change partners if he has the opportunity and I wonder who he would pick.
I would totally luv CT to win a Gold Skull and infiltrate Kyle and Kam's team and steal Kam for his partner. However I really do not want either Leroy or Kam to make it to the finale or win, her arrogance is annoying.
Also in the Kam and Leroy interview he mentioned that Jay and he were roommates and that he was constantly saying "I have your back" and that actually made Leroy suspicious and annoyed. I think Jay really needs to look at his social/political game and how he presents himself to people, it can only help.

Season 36 Episode 9 - "Lady Vengeance" - February 10, 2021 Kam is so cocky and judgmental. She comes of as this all inclusive, confident woman who is a prominent member of the challenge. While this is her fifth season Kam has always acted as if she knows all and can control all. It is so annoying. She should be thanking Teresa for the gold skull she currently holds. I really just want to slap her silly she is SOOOOOO annoying. (I said it twice because it is that bad.)
The trouble with Kaycee is she is so drama free and under the radar you forget she is there, I really hoped that with her total lack of story line she might be the one going home. If it was not for Big Brother alliance with Josh and Fessy and her one run in with CT over heating up pizza in the kitchen would we even know that Kaycee was on this season? Look at Lolo, an Olympian but an emotional mess, but lots and lots of tv time.
What is so sad about last night's episode is that the girls are almost letting Kam and her alliance control the lineup of who goes in and can you really put your trust in that. I hope the producers shake it up. At this point in the game there are 9 girls left, 3 who have their Gold Skulls and the remaining 6 (Amber B & M, Gabby, Lolo, Nany, and Big T). It looks like a shoo-in for Lolo and Nany to get their Gold Skulls, I mean really are Amber B & M, Gabby, or Big T potential threats in the Crater? I don't think so.
If next week is a men's elimination I wonder what would happen if two men throw in don't have a Gold Skull what happens? From now on does it have to be an elimination for a gold Skull and all the holders have to now defend their skulls?
While it was interesting to see Amber B politic and to see she was able to abstain from petty revenge and to place two strong competitors against each other I do have to wonder when will be the right time for you to go in? There are only two Gold Skulls to left and 6 girls who want one. At this point who are you going to go in against? With over 10 episodes left, 18 people still in the house there will be a lot of drama and movement, this will not be a straight and easy game not one whose theme is Double Agents. Now that Teresa is gone who is going to be the next target? Will Cory ever keep a partner? Needs to change his name to the Black Widower.

I love Kaycee and she doesn't go unnoticed by me! She has done really well in a lot of the challenges, I mean, she plays football. I just wish she weren't in the BB alliance with Thing 1 and Thing 2, ugh, such meatheads. I was really hoping Michie would figure out the puzzle while Josh was throwing the ball into the same spot.
Nam is also a sleeper, he has brains to him as well. I really hope he sheds Lolo, she is insane. I would choose Nany as a partner, save her from Josh.

Did Kaycee really believe that wolves are vegetarians? Or was that a joke? That was one of the most ridiculous responses from the trivia. lol
Nam might be the most fit of anyone in the house. I was surprised how easily CT beat him in the pole wrestle.

I was surprised how easily CT beat him in the pole wrestle.Nam is a physical specimen in an individual sport. CT has been in a lot of fights and has never been afraid of being physical in the game. Lets face it he can be a very focused psycho. Knowing how to fight and use his body on Nam gives CT a huge advantage. I don't think Ct is concerned about hurting anyone.

The beauty of trivia is that it does show most people on a reality TV show are either incredibly stupid or poorly educated and it not confined to the US. The Brits don't do well either.

Season 36 Epiosde 10 - "Amber Alert" - February 17, 2021
This week's elimination; The Battle of the Ambers has to be one of the most dumb, boring, ridiculous displays I have seen in a long while and rivals last weeks elimination between Josh and Mechie as dumb and boring. OK at least Josh had me laughing out loud at his incompetence. Both Amber B and Josh while managing to win their Gold Skulls really have nothing to write home about. These wins were not great achievements but instead rather sad moments.
Devin, is an idiot and this episode showed as much. He can do puzzles, he is strategic but he totally gets in his own way with his vindictive stupidity and this is where I simply have a hard time liking him or feeling any type of sympathy for him or his storyline. Devin a definition for ass and stupid.
Lolo. OMG! SHUTUP WOMAN. No one cares. You are 38 yrs old, a good 10 to 15 yrs older than many of the cast. You act like a 5 yr old having a temper tantrum. Everything you accused Nam of doing is what you are doing. Look in a mirror you are the problem. For someone who claims to have been a professional athlete you are a baby. You have competed on a world level yet you cannot work with anyone. This entire situation is of your making. Playing the victim does not help as it undercuts your stand on being a strong woman. No one in the Challenge House is going to feel sorry for you or send you into an elimination. No one is going to give you a chance at a Gold Skull unless you win a daily challenge and send yourself in and when are you going to win a daily challenge.
Gold Skull Holders:
Devin Fessy Josh Kyle Leroy
Amber B Aneesa Kaycee Kam
Potential winners: Fessy, Kyle, Leroy & Kaycee or Kam
I don't see the other Gold Skull holders as threats and Aneesa can totally beat Amber B. just by sitting on her.

lol!!!! And I totally agree about everything you said about Lolo, and can't believe she is 38. Poor Nam being partnered with that delusional baby. "I know you are afraid to compete with me, but send me in" is not a strategy. While an impassioned speech, was it obvious that NO ONE EVER was going to vote for Lolo and Nam as the house vote. I could see Lolo and Nam voted in if Aneesa and Fessy were the house vote to potentially take Fessy out of the game, but does anyone really want Nam or Lolo in the finale? OTOH I wouldn't mind seeing them in a finale just to see how they would do, either very well or flaming out. I watched again this afternoon and paid special attention to the talk Nam and Lolo had in the workout area with Kaycee next to then. Nam can't say anything at all without Lolo finding offense. Anything he says she finds a way to find fault. It's all his fault. However if you listen carefully, it does come across as if they have hooked up and had a relationship and much of what she says is her upset about their relationship. If Lolo and Nam were having sex the producers would have shown us, the cast would have talked about it. So this conversation either is a relationship conversation or Lolo is nuts to be that intense about a working partnership in a game. What I totally do not get at her age and that she is still a professional athlete and working with folks at that elite level is that she does not seem able to get along with anyone. Careful Amber B not to play the victim too hard or you will end up like Lolo. I find it interesting that Kaycee in her confessional and others have mentioned that neither Lolo or Nam have a clue how this game is played on the political, strategic side as on paper this team looks as if they should be a dominating force in the game. Nam is naïve as far as trusting what folks say in this game. I do wonder how far these two powerhouses would be if they had other partners?

Post by beerbelly on Feb 20, 2021 23:15:55 GMT
Excellent points! I am sure Nam would have fared way better if his partner was a strategic player, and who besides Lolo isn't? I feel like she would bring anyone down since she is so delusional if you can't get along with someone as neutral as Nam, you are sol. She doesn't even seem to have friends in the game and I don't think she even notices.

More whining from Lolo this episode. I found it a bit fascinating to see how she really can't handle not winning and/or not performing well.
Does she not know how to swim? That was an awkward sight. "Mumble mumble my boot came off and was causing drag..." She's so tall - I thought she'd swim faster than everyone else simply due to her arm and leg length. (Thinking she'd swim facedown, of course, not floundering on her back.)
Go Big T! I thoroughly enjoyed watching her this episode.

Why was Lolo not concerned about the Olympics from the jump? Jeeze, she is the worst, my bedside table lamp has more self-awareness. She isn't winning, so she quits. That is not very sportsmanlike. The backstroke? I bet Nam is so relieved, he seems like such a nice guy. Lol! Floundering on her back.
Loved Big T's win! She is so adorable. I was shocked that Nanny was...ick....playing with the thought of dating Josh. Yeesh. And Devin should have kept his mouth shut until he did the challenge!

Season 36 Episode 11 - "An Inconvenient Goof" - February 24, 2021 There was no elimination this episode instead ending on a cliff hanger with a Security Breach Alarm sounding right after Devin and Gabby entered The Crater.
I will not be surprised if Amber M, the last eliminated female comes back to be Nam's new partner since Lolo left.
I also think they producers wanted extra drama to highlight the upcoming elimination that from episode trailers showing a montage of clips from the season and seeing Big T yelling at CT calling him a liar; I predict CT winning the elimination and switching partners. I think CT's best move would be to steal Kam from Kyle. It needs to be done if CT wants to stay in the game and have Kam and Leroy protect him. This will end with Kyle and Big T as partners or Big T partnering with Cory. But considering Cory's reputation as a Black Widower I would pick Kyle.
Lolo, what can I say about Lolo.
It seems suspicious considering the time of the filming of this season that Lolo left so she could train for several months right before winning the gold medal in World Competition in February 2021 for bobsled.
What strikes me as odd is that Lolo actually started with a really good swim then all of a sudden she totally collapsed. I don't get it. So what if you lost your boot or did it partially fall off. A true athlete, a true competitor would either kick it off and keep going, or if they couldn't kick it off just keep going and not totally melt down. Strange, bizarre, possibly scripted? Just lame.
Now for the comedy.
Thank you Josh.
Thank you Aneesa.
Thank you Devin.
Just priceless, you can't make up this stuff.
Best speech: Devin descripting himself and Aneesa as the IT guys in the van. That was a good speech.
Most loyal: Josh. I am waiting for his Big Brother Alliance to betray him just to see a tear filled Josh collapse in utter disbelief and shock.
