Season 36 Episode 17 - "True Lies" - April 7, 2021
Luv'ed the daily challenge and that the guys had to depend on the girls to save them.
No Cory, Amber B is not the Rookie of the Year. If I turn my head from my tv screen and back I will have forgotten who she is.
Ha Ha on Fessy for making the decision to go without talking to Amber B and basically costing himself the win.
Good for Cory for using Fessy's ego to get him to volunteer for the Crater elimination.
Major Boo for Fessy for complaining in his confessional about Amber B making it about her. What a fool, she is losing another partner, however she is trying to be polite about it and stroking Fessy's ego. What a douche. Fessy is so unaware, so clueless. Fessy has managed to get to the finale to compete for $1,000,000 twice in a row, in his first two times on the Challenge. That is actually an amazing feat. He is also in an alliance which has protected him to this point without him having to do anything. He is a total idiot to complain about that. He should have been in cruise control enjoying the drama and preparing for the finale instead of worrying about his ego.
So sad for Kyle. For the betrayal and for the broken finger. He would have been great in the finale.
Nany did great in the first half of the daily challenge what happened on the way back? Gas out?
So wacky weird to see Leroy go paranoid and being nasty and going back on his work.
Major Thoughts: Not a fan of Kam or Leroy's either. Leroy is a nice person but he has ridden Johnny Bananas coattails for over 10 years. I can honestly say I don't remember him being on seasons as he is not that memorable. People are rooting for Leroy this year and say he playing the perfect season. That is incorrect. Kam has been playing Leroy's season for him. Double Agents is Leroy's perfect storm. Lee has a smart, strategic girlfriend who is directing him every step of this challenge. Lee has the perfect partner in Kaycee who being part of the BB alliance is working hand in hand with Lee and Kam. Without Kam, without Kaycee, would Leroy even still be in this game this season? The minute Leroy went off script and tried to make a maneuver behind Kam's back (saving Kyle and throwing in Cory) it almost wrecked his game. As much as Leroy says this game is about friendships and being true to your work and being loyal, he never had to make hard decisions when he had to in this game, like Bananas and other champions. Kam is making all his decisions for him. Amazing how being loyal, and true went out the window when it came to keeping his word to Kyle. Welcome to the Challenge Lee, it only took you 10 years.

More Thoughts
I have been listening to several podcasts about the challenge this season.
I don't particularly like the Official MTV Challenge podcast hosted by Aneesa and Tori because while it claims it will reveal behind the scenes tidbits and juicy stuff and ask the hard questions it does not. It can be a major love fest and just not cutting edge and a bit boring. Can Tori squeal any louder or any more like a 5 year old. Enough with the swearing. I do not mind salty language but the shock value is so over 20 yrs ago. It's like when Miley Cyrus was trying to show everyone how grown up she was by letting us all know she had sex. Miley Cyrus is not sexy, and I don't care.
However on the podcast about episode 17 Leroy and Kam were guests and there were juicy tdibits. Leroy and Kam suspect that Kaycee threw the daily challenge so she would not be a double agent thereby allowing Fessy to steal her to be his partner in the finale. WOW. Didn't see that one coming.
While hated to see Leroy win this season, because everyone thinks he is playing the perfect game and without Kam and his alliance that would not be so. I don't have a problem seeing Leroy and Nany win.
When asked why Kam and Leroy didn't partner for the finale I liked their answer. With Kam and Leroy split between two teams they actually have a 50/50% of winning. SMART.
Some of the other podcasters have brought up the fact that Fessy is so hard to work with that he might have trouble with Kaycee.
I personally do not want to see Fessy or Kaycee win and hope they come in fourth.

I wondered if Kacyee was really happy that Fessey picked her. He is hard to work with and is a dolt.

I wondered if Kacyee was really happy that Fessey picked her. He is hard to work with and is a dolt. They are friends outside the game just like Kaycee is friends with Josh. Josh is harder for her to manage but they are loyal to her. Per the podcast interview with Leroy and Kam they suspect it was always their plan to run the final together. Kaycee seems to be the only female Fessy respects in the house.

I have Paramount + the free 30 day trial and they have MTV seasons 11 thru 35. OMGosh the guys are so misogynistic, sexist, and thoroughly hateful to the female cast and they all act as if it is OK. Listening to Wes on Fresh Meat. He is so arrogant and so nasty to Casey his partner I just want to beat him up the side of his head. Folks are fans of this show, this is NOT the way to behave. Have you seen the first years of the franchise? They make the new seems appear tame in every area of behavior. But, yes, the misogyny is a hot slzap to the face.

I have been watching for years, and I normally do not watch stuff over again. However, this seemed like a good opportunity and I am shocked at all the stuff I forgot. It can get quite foul. Wes does it on purpose to mess with people's heads. That is quite sick.

Season 36 Episode 18 - "No Time To Die" - April 14, 2021 - FINALE PART 1
At the Ice Dome, Nany and Kam notice that Kaycee is just as arrogant as Fessy.
The finale starts. Fessy takes the lead and is outpacing Kaycee. Dude this is loooooooong race. However, Fessy keeps stopping and looking back and telling Kaycee to hurry up. Even Leroy notices after the first checkpoint that Kaycee is looking gassed. Fessy keeps pushing and you wonder why Kaycee misses a step and falls and pops her knee. Kaycee is in a lot of pain I thought she hurt her back. In his confessional Fessy says he doesn't feel happy or sad just that it is tough. Huh. Your partner injured herself and you think it is tough. So Clueless. Still I am sad not sad. Couldn't have happened to a nicer couple and the best thing is that Fessy did it. It is ALL HIS FAULT.
Big surprise, Kaycee hobbles to the second checkpoint eats her food and Fessy doesn't. Dude you are an idiot.
Now have to wait for next week to see the rest.

This was a satisfying episode (except for Kaycee getting hurt, which I wouldn't wish on anyone.) I'm really glad that Amber B didn't change partners when she had the chance. I've never been a fan of Amber B, but she and CT showed drive, determination, and heart, and understand what it means to work together as a team. Clearly Fessy does not. I felt really bad watching Kaycee eat, with Fessy standing there not eating. He had no intention of eating once she was hurt. He may be a big strong dude on the outside, but he's weak and immature on the inside. Not sure how it will all turn out, but good for Amber B and CT this episode.

Very satisfying indeed! I couldn't watch the eating bit - I get grossed out. But love that Amber B. and CT were killing both checkpoints.
Fessy....he is horrible.
Who do you think CT and Amber B. will choose?

Maybe they'll choose Cory and Kam? I don't know who would be best to target.
Seems like Fessy & Kaycee are not much of a threat at this point, and Nany has trouble keeping up when running.
Who do you think they will/should choose?

I agree Cory and Kam are probably the strongest team. I just read a re-cap since I couldn't watch the eating thing, Fessy just watched? Ugh. What trash.

Yes Fessy just stood there. It was so weird. You could tell by his face that he wasn't going near the stuff he was supposed to be eating. And there's Kaycee standing next to him, in pain with her injured knee yet not giving up....she was eating. I watched with one eye closed through most of the eating lol. Amber B held it all in while she and CT asked for a "check" that they had completed the task. About one second after TJ said they were done and had won, it all came back up from Amber Pretty gross to watch, but her timing was kind of hilarious lol.

Lol! Yeah, I can't watch those things.
Ugh, what a brat, do you think he was punishing her for getting hurt? That it was her turn to do something as he would have to do the physical stuff? I really can't stand him. Grr. I really have liked Kaycee but her BB friends are making me wonder...

I really can't stand him. Grr. I really have liked Kaycee but her BB friends are making me wonder... It didn't appear that Fessy was trying to punish Kaycee for getting hurt. He seemed pretty quiet and stoic while he was standing there, although he did tell her that he knew they weren't going to be able to continue because she was hurt, so why should he eat? Kaycee was stomping around, showing lots of emotion while she was eating...she was clearly frustrated at herself because she got hurt, and then she became mad because Fessy wasn't eating. I think she was surprised that he was just standing there doing nothing.

I have been re-watching Battle of the Seasons this weekend. Frank and Zack were horrid to Sam and at the reunion many of the girls made a lot of excuses for both Frank and Zack in regards that they behaved that way toward Sam because they were competitive and wanted to win while Sam was there for the experience. What I find hard to believe is that the girls think it is OK behavior from the guys.

Amber/CT were simply too good. Amber had an incredible finals mentally, outstanding physically. CT did have me worried he would turn his back on Amber and relieved when he didn't. Amazed that CT can still compete at such a high level...still amazing at Checkpoints.
Leroy has been a favourite of mine since RW Las Vegas. Bummed he didn't get a win but he's always been a class act and he didn't disappoint on his exit. Nany not only finished but was in the hunt far longer than I thought she would be.
I can't wait seeing Fessy get shredded at the reunion. Corey called it word for word. Fessy's weak...so mentally weak. I preferred Leroy's call out though.

Wow Amber and CT did an amazing job. Amber B really surprised me. I've never really been a fan of hers, but she has way more grit and heart and determination than Fessy. I admit that I'm a bit of fan now. CT and Amber B made one heck of a team. Good for them!

ESPECIALLY about Corey knowing what Fessey would say in regard to blaming Kaycee. I mean, to sit there and sulk while your partner solders on is just terrible. He's a spoiled brat. I can't wait for him to be shredded too during the reunion, but he won't see his errors, he's always the victim.

Fessy is an awful partner. Not one person in that final had "quit" mentality, except for him. What I don't understand, is that there were other people through the season that were medically removed due to injury - I mean Kyle was removed for a finger! I really think they kept Casey in just so Fessy would have to eat, hahahaha! I love how TJ talked him into eating, knowing there was no way in hell they weren't gonna time out. Naughty TJ, I love it! I wish to never see him again on my screen, but rumor has it that he's supposed to be on next season. I guess they need a villain. I know Josh gets so much hate, but he really doesn't bother me. At least he's not a quitter. Too bad Fessy didn't get paired with Lolo at the start of the season. They're both always victims & blamed their partners. I heard Nam is supposed to be back next season as well! There was at least one other big guy that will be a rookie that I hope will kick Fessy's ass & humble him, because he needs some humility. He's just brute strength, he doesn't have a well-rounded game, & now that he's played a couple of seasons, everyone has become aware of his weaknesses. And he doesn't adapt. At all.

After watching part II of the finale it made sense. They didn't medically DQ Kaycee and after the food checkpoint there was still the kayak and puzzle portion, the final run to the glacier and a math puzzle. Fessy could have carried Kaycee, she would have been OK in the kayak. The entire point was to make it to the cave and solve the math puzzle. Checkpoints are equalizers, Fessy could have made it to the final checkpoint and won and potentially changed partners and left behind Kaycee. That would have been priceless. Who would Fessy have chosen? Well Kam is the only person he has not been with. Fessy shot himself in the foot by not eating, he gave up too soon. Even if Kaycee and Fessy came in last, Fessy carrying Kaycee to the glacier cave would have been epic and it would have been legendary. He missed another opportunity. Let's face it the boy is an idiot.

Season 26 Episode 19 - "The World Is Not Enough" - April 21, 2021 - Season Finale Part II
I enjoyed the finale, although day two seemed shorter than day one. I do wish production would provide statistics on the distances and times involved as after the first two legs or so you really do not have any idea how long the runs, kayaking, checkpoints take. I would really liked to know how long the finale was mileage wise and how many hours it took to complete.
I was really pleased to see CT give the extra food to Kam and Cory. Smart move, a $900,000 move. I think Amber B was weak minded and cowardly not to want to make a decision as to whom to give the food. Someone has to take it and it is a potentially a winning decision. While Amber B has tremendous endurance she just didn't have the guts, the mental edge to play the game which is designed for the contestants to make hard decisions. Duh! As Cory said legends make legendary moves.
I do believe the way the game was designed was to get all four teams to the ice cave, the slowest team would have been purged and but maybe before that whomever solved the math problem the fastest did earn the power to switch partners. This is why you don't quit Fessy. Can you imagine Fessy carrying Kaycee on his back and coming in last but still being able to solve the math problem the fastest. Depending on the abilities of the players that is a possibility. That is why you never quit. I have seen this time after time on Survivor where a team that was so far behind that them loosing was a certainty but they didn't quit and they ending up winning. It would have been a epic moment especially when Fessy would have switched partners and left Kaycee behind.
I am so looking forward the two part reunion as it looks as if it will be a Fessy Roast.
It was good to see a finale with experienced racers and how well they communicated with each other and how they balanced their skill sets.
The race for second place was very tight. At times I wondered if Kam was in the game or wanting to let Leroy get some money?
I was a tad concerned that CT and Amber would get lost or lose time doubling back to get a clue and then when they got lost. At one point in the race CT mentioned they were an hour ahead.
CT also mentions that you do need to pace yourself as the checkpoints are great equalizers and with 7 checkpoints with a potential time out of 15 to 20 minutes each and if you time out on each checkpoint you are a good 1.75 hours behind the leaders. That is lot of time to make up. Between Fessy and Kaycee they potentially could have won but the finale as they have the skillsets needed, however the finale tends to be a two day race and at the start of the second day you may only have 5 or 10 minutes headstart depending what order you finished day one.
If the race was an individual race you could see by the running Leroy could keep up with Fessy at the start of day one but again the checkpoints are the equalizer. Could Fessy maintain that pace day two? If it was an individual game it would have probably been between Fessy and CT as Leroy and Cory are not good at puzzles. That would have been fun to watch.
The ladies. Amber B was outstanding at running, she ate the food, she could do the totem puzzle. However math is her Achilles heel, but with her speed and endurance that did not matter. I don't know how good she is at tangrams or word puzzles so that is a question mark.
Kam is consistent and patience and is good in math and puzzles.
Nany can eat, she can do math, the running and other puzzles don't know. However, I have been watching a lot of the older seasons and Nany is smoker, I don't know if she still is but her endurance has always been questioned. What I don't get is do you really want to win? If so you can develop a lot of endurance if you want to over the last 10 years.
It might have been a really close race if it was an individual race between the ladies.
Overall I think Amber B was very lucky having CT as a partner.
Leroy and Kaycee would have kicked ass.
If it was CT and Amber B and Leroy and Kaycee it would have been a really close race for first.
I was rooting for CT to win.
I really was not rooting for Leroy to win. I don't get the love and everyone thinking he was such a great player. Leroy had everything lined up for him to win. The win was laid out for him on a silver platter. He had a great alliance, a great partner, a great confident in Kam and he still could not win.
I do like Leroy's attitude, his speech, and the effort he and Nany gave.
I do think that production needs to rethink providing some prize money for third and maybe fourth place. When the challenge was offering 60% less in prize money the top three finishers got something. Even CT stated that second place got more than he did for winning his first challenge.

I felt bad for Amber B during her BB season...Caleb's stalker act ruined her season. I admit that I didn't give her much respect at the beginning of the season but I liked her relationship with Darnell. I wasn't impressed with her relationship with the BB alum. Amber is far more agile than I gave her credit...mentally not physically. Learning from the vets...letting CT call the punishment team was smart. Let the OG make the call. Amber fully recognizes her weaknesses but still gave her best...ie check point one, the totem check point and also she was the one that voiced that they had to go back together to read the code. Amber was a rock. CT has always been a favourite of mine and as he stated, he's grown. I enjoyed this season.

So will I. I am highly anticipating the Fessy Roast and will even watch it live for that. If MTV wants a villan they either need to bring back Bear or Bananas. Is it really that hard to be evil and entertaining? Entertaining Fessy is not. Do any of the Big Brother folks have a personality? Kaycee? Fessy? Amber? Josh?
