I never liked that Naomi character. I'm not sure what John sees in her, but I guess he didn't get much company. I hope things start to pick up a little. So far the bad guys have had cookouts and that's about it. Their leader doesn't seem very intimidating.

I thought I could never get into a Zombie series. No idea why I tried this one. Maybe I thought that it would focus on "Before" the Zombie thing. But I am hooked!

I'm still catching up but intrigued to what the new season holds! I.e. Morgan! (Sorry, I have to watch on Roku.)

Tired of the video interviews and the back and forth with the flashbacks in every episode. So far I like last season better.

I am NOT okay with last night's episode. WTF. First Nick, now Maddie....they're killing off all the characters that made me watch. I'm still struggling to like Althea (though she's growing on me), have always found Alicia mildly annoying, and Naomi/June is just stupid. And the jumping timeline this season has been really irritating.
I might have to bail on this one when it comes back in August. I like John Dorie, Morgan, and Strand...but I'm not interested if Alicia is now the lead character.

Wait a minute! What? Nick outlived his mother? I am so confused by all this popping back and forth in time.

Do some of the group expect Alicia to be around the girl who killed her brother? I would have rather had Al get killed than Madison.

I like John Dorie, Morgan, and Strand...but I'm not interested if Alicia is now the lead character. It definitely feels like they're dismantling both WD series with these massive cast changes - by "massive" I mean departures of MAJOR characters. There are only so many of those departures that can happen before viewers cry "uncle." IIRC, ratings have been down on WD since they killed off Glenn and Abraham. Even fans of this franchise - and "dead" is in the title! - are getting tired of all the gratuitous death. I mean, I KNOW people die on this show, but it's also television and it's a show about the zombie apocalypse, so FICTION! I'd be okay with some of these characters being "bullet proof." IMO, Kim Dickens was the best actor on this show, by far, and Madison was the center of the show. Without her, I don't know how you hold it all together. I like Alycia Debnam Carey, but I'm not sure she's a strong enough actor to helm the show. Maybe they'll put Lennie James in that position? Colman Domingo? Both are more likely than Alicia.
I was happy when they brought on some new characters at the beginning of the season, but I didn't know they'd be killing off two of the leads as well. I know Frank Dillane wanted to leave the show, but it sounded like Kim Dickens was shocked when TPTB told her she'd be killed off. I'm especially sad that we never got to see her and Lenny James act together. I'm sure they're both disappointed as well.
I'm going to keep watching, but I'm feeling less warm and fuzzy about the show than I was at the beginning of the season

I guess Daniel might be showing up sometime in the second half of the season? It's been definitely confirmed that the actress who plays Madison is leaving the show then? I didn't think they would try to pull some type of swerve since they technically didn't really show her die, but just checking.

They haven't said anything about Ruben Blades returning for the second half of the season, but then I don't think they did it the last time he returned either, did they? I'd love to see Daniel come back, but I don't know what connection he has to the group any more now that his daughter is gone AND there's only Alicia and Strand left and we know he and Strand had a difficult relationship. I also know that Ruben Blades has a busy music career, so maybe he'd rather focus on that. It's not like this show is shot in a soundstage in LA. Shooting on location in Texas probably would make it really difficult to easily switch back and forth between acting and music.
As a longtime soap watcher, I'm very much in the camp of "If you don't see a body, they're not dead," so I really want to believe that Madison isn't dead. That being said, Kim Dickens did make it sound like she was done with the show when she talked about it on TD. I want to believe it's going to be like Daniel surviving the fire (or Glenn and the dumpster), but neither of those actors went on a talk show discussing their departure from the show and I don't think those characters were included in the TD In Memorium segment the week after it looked like they died. Everything I've seen indicates that Kim Dickens is gone and Madison is dead, although I'd be thrilled if that was all a big fake out!

The ComicCon panel was this morning and this is the new trailer: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwCT5s6-JGAI have to admit, as annoyed as I am with the cast exits, I'm sort of excited to see where this is going to go. When they showed Tonya Pinkins, at the end, I got a little giddy. I've loved her since her days on All My Children.

Just a reminder that the mid-season premiere is tonight! I'm curious to see what a Madison (and Nick)-less show looks like. I know I'll miss Kim Dickens, but I'm tuning in to see what happens.

Did anyone else giggle as the walkers were flung into the side of the truck one-by-one? Oh, and when Luciana had the headphones on, totally oblivious to Strand battling the walker. "These grapes were not made for wrath." I'm glad to have the show back, but I miss Madison. I wonder if Morgan actually WILL end up going back to Alexandria as a part of that big spoiler we've heard about. I'd be sad to see them send Lennie James back to WD so quickly. I think there's more Morgan could do on this show. I feels like they've barely scratched the surface

I was hoping that Charlie would have gotten bit by a zombie. If Morgan leaves the show, there will be hardly anyone left that I care about.

I have to believe they aren't getting rid of Morgan. I read an interview with Lennie James and he confirmed what I believed was the reason he moved over to Fear - it gave him more screen time. Nothing has changed on WD, so throwing him back over there means he would again be part of a show with a bloated cast and too many storylines.
I don't like Charlie, but Alexa is a terrific little actress. She and Alycia were great in this episode. Obviously, they wouldn't kill off the entire rest of the cast, but I don't expect us to find out what happened to everyone else in one episode. I'm sure they'll draw out that reveal over the coming weeks.

I read an article last night about how the ratings have tanked since they killed off Madison. I totally get it. I also think that decline is due to how they're telling the story this season. I get what they're doing, but it's not as watchable. I'm hoping they'll get everyone back together by the end of the season. I'm thrilled that Tonya Pinkins is on the show, but I wish she wasn't playing a villain. In articles about her casting on the show, her stage career and Tony win (and three nominations) is always mentioned, but to me, she'll always be Livia Frye on All My Children. I love her so much. Maybe Martha can be redeemed...maybe the Power of Morgan can turn her away from the Dark Side! I'm enjoying her work as a baddie, but it's rare that bad guys stick around long term.

I'm really digging Pinkins character, but after listening to her on Talking Dead this week, I'm guessing her villain character will not survive to terrorize them another season. When asked about her experiences on the set, she kept referring to everything in the past tense. So I'm guessing we'll see her meet a big demise before the season is over...in 2 weeks!

It seems kind of odd to have just one villain against the rest of the crew right now. besides the zombies of course. lol I assume some more adversaries will be showing up eventually. I can't believe how much of a difference one season makes, I liked the pervious season a lot more.

Daniel never showed up this season. If things don't improve, I wouldn't really be surprised if the show gets cancelled in the near future or mind that much either.

Putting this casting news in spoiler tag:
I hadn't seen this article when it was published two months ago. I just happened upon it when I was searching for info about the actor. I'm curious to see how they're going to integrate the character into the existing cast.
Season 5 premieres on August 12th, which seems like SO long!
ETA: Okay, I didn't add those two lines of "SPOILER: Click to show." Clicking them does nothing. Click "Casting Spoiler!"

I stuck with WD through two horse deaths (RIP Buttons ) AND Shiva, but I SWEAR, if they kill that cat, I'm D-O-N-E. If Skidmark dies, I riot! ETA: "Soup's on. Get the ladle"

I was going to put this in spoiler tags, but I've seen articles on at least half a dozen sites tonight alone. Clearly, they're not hiding this casting news! Kim Dickens is coming back! AMC renewed the show for an eighth season, but we'll see Madison in the back half of season 7, starting in April.
I've been hot and mostly cold on the current season, but having Kim back will be a reason to keep watching.
