This guy talks in some pretty technical terms, but it is pretty interesting to see what goes on at the mixing board before the songs get heard by the public.

For those that don't know, this is all about the line of clothing Carrie owns & developed. It seems to be hitting it's stride pretty nicely.
Excerpt from Dick’s Sporting Good earnings call transcripts, 5/30/18:
Driving differentiation and exclusivity within our assortment is a top priority. We've expanded our CALIA collection to new categories and given it premium space in our stores. In the 3 short years since its launch, CALIA has grown to be our #3 private brand in our portfolio and the #2 brand in women's athletic apparel, behind only Nike.

CMA Music Fest is taking place this week. Yesterday Carrie had her annual fan club party at the Grand Ol Opry. I don't think anyone else does that. But tomorrow night is the CMT Music Video Awards. She is nominated for 4 different awards & she is also performing her single Cry Pretty. Here she is in rehearsal.

I reckon I should have added the photo of the Fan Club Party. I didn't get to go this year, but it is always a great day. She gives out gifts, has games & awards & has about an hour long concert for everyone And it is all free.

Carrie won her 18th CMT Music Video Award last night. She won for Female Video of the Year. And she shown like gold on the Red Carpet. Is this the same shy country girl that began her trek on Idol?

Not expecting an answer, but oh if you do, how lucky you are! My bff lived in both Hendersonville and White House and I just loved it there! I stood on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry during one of our visits - it was magical. Congratulations to Carrie on her most recent award.

Carrie held a party in Nashville last night for music critics, radio personalities & record company executives where she revealed her new album for everyone. The buzz coming out of the affair is pretty incredible. Here is one person's opinion that was in the room. By the way, she wrote 9 of the 13 songs & co - produced the album as well...her first time at that post! Taste of Country was on hand as the 35-year-old previewed the new album in Nashville on Monday (Aug. 21). It was an emotional night for her, and several times she fought back tears talking about her journey. Here are our first impressions of all 12 songs from Cry Pretty ("The Champion" — her duet with Ludacris — is included as song No. 13, a bonus track).1. “Cry Pretty” — The current radio single. It's almost a Top 10 hit, so there's probably not much more to say about it. 2. “Ghosts on the Stereo” — Think "Record Year" by Eric Church. The song finds Underwood getting over heartbreak with some of her favorite country legends. Technically it's a ballad, but she brings great energy to this radio-friendly arrangement. 3. “Low” — If Chris Stapleton influenced Underwood's writing and recording at all, it's evident on during this soft, acoustic heartbreaker. "Low" is simply brilliant — even a Song of the Year candidate, should she choose to release it to radio. By holding back vocally, she allows the brilliant metaphors room to breathe. 4. “Backsliding” — This is another "can't get over you" kind of song that finds the protagonist backsliding into bad habits. We're four songs in and there's been no real uptempo song. 5. “Southbound” — There it is! "Southbound" is an easy beach song with plenty of smiles, margaritas and chatter. Without a doubt it's the most playful song on this album. 6. “That Song That We Used to Make Love To” — Underwood wasn't joking when she said she took bold chances on Cry Pretty, and from a production standpoint, we hear it during this song. An usual piano-like plinking carries the arrangement. Lyrically the mid-tempo track finds her again thinking about an old relationship. "I probably shouldn't say it, but I just wanna play it," she sings during "That Song That We Used to Make Love To." 7. “Drinking Alone” — This is a great song in any era of country music. "Drinking Alone" showcases Underwood's more mature understanding of soul and blues. The backing vocalists act as her subconscious during this jilted lovers union. "You got me thinking we should be drinking alone, together," Underwood sings. Where does that lead? We can only imagine. 8. “The Bullet” — "The Bullet" is going to steal headlines, and since it's not available to be heard in its entirety, we'll be careful about how we describe it. The song details a mother burying her son, using a refrain about how a bullet keeps moving long after it has hit the target, ripping holes in the hearts of everyone the deceased knew and loved. It's a statement to be sure, but without the benefit of a second listen or the song lyrics on paper, we'll stop short of calling it anti-gun. 9. “Spinning Bottles” — This is the second of two straight box-of-tissue songs. "Spinning Bottles" is somewhat open for interpretation, but we heard a wife singing about her tortured, alcoholic husband. The song brings great empathy to substance abuse. It's a brilliant vocal performance that truly stretches her capabilities. 10. “Love Wins” — "Love Wins" also makes a statement, albeit a much more agreeable one. Courageous lyrics and a positive message make this the kind of song fans will only realize they love later. Honestly, it gets kind of lost after "The Bullet" and "Spinning Bottles." 11. “End Up With You” — A straight-forward love song. 12. “Kingdom” — When Underwood released her track listing on Sunday, we had this pegged as a religious song, but it's not really. Her "Kingdom" is the home she's built with husband Mike Fisher. Anyone looking for a reference to her November 2017 fall can stretch to find it here — the opening verse refers to a creaky board on the front porch. A big chorus helps wrap Cry Pretty with a heartwarming, everything-is-gonna-be-OK smile. "It's our life, it's our heart, it's our home, this is our kingdom," she sings. 13. “The Champion” (Feat. Ludacris) — "The Champion" is a bonus track. Like "Cry Pretty," you've likely heard this song. Conclusion: A single listen is woefully insufficient for a critical review, but it's impossible to ignore the changes Underwood has made between albums. There's less theater and more first-person heart on her new album. In some ways Storyteller felt like an extension of Blown Away, but Cry Pretty truly begins a new chapter. This is a bold and demanding album that isn't afraid to offend or make you uncomfortable.

First week sales figures have been released & Carrie is now a record setter.
First Woman to Take Four Country Albums to No. 1 on Billboard 200: Underwood is the first woman to hit the top of the Billboard 200 chart with four country albums: Cry Pretty, Blown Away (2012), Play On (2009) and Carnival Ride (2007). Previously, she was tied with Faith Hill, Linda Ronstadt and Taylor Swift with three leaders each. (Swift has had five No. 1s on the Billboard 200, but only three of them also charted on the Top Country Albums chart, as her two most recent leaders -- reputation and 1989 -- were pop efforts.) Among all acts, Garth Brooks has brought the most country albums to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with nine leaders in his career.
Biggest Week for a Country Album in More Than Three Years: Cry Pretty’s launch of 266,000 units is the biggest for any country album since Aug. 29, 2015, when Luke Bryan’s Kill the Lights bowed at No. 1 with 345,000 units earned. Cry Pretty logs the biggest overall week for a country album by a woman since the charts began ranking albums by equivalent album units in late 2014.
2018’s Largest Week for a Woman: Cry Pretty’s debut frame of 266,000 units is the biggest week for any album by a woman in 2018, surpassing the previous high-water mark, set by Cardi B’s Invasion of Privacy, which launched at No. 1 with 255,000 units (April 21 chart). The last larger stanza for an album by a woman was racked up on the Dec. 2, 2017-dated list, when Taylor Swift’s reputation entered at No. 1 with 1.238 million units.
2018’s Biggest Sales Week for a Woman & Country Album: Cry Pretty clocks the largest sales frame for an album by a woman since Swift’s reputation bowed last year (1.216 million sold in its first week, Dec. 2, 2017). Further, Cry Pretty snags the biggest for a country album in more than three years, since Bryan’s Kill the Lights debuted with 320,000 copies sold.
Further, Cry Pretty nabs the largest sales week for a country album by a female artist since the Jan. 5, 2013-dated list, when Taylor Swift's Red sold 276,000 copies in its ninth week on the list."
