It seems to be a very close race, and all three are singing very well tonight. I love the hometown visits!
The only cringe moment so far: Luke inviting Chayse on a fishing trip, and Ryan going on about how that involves beer (moreso than actual fishing), right after Chayse's clip about being sober for a year. 😬
Lots of filler because it's a three hour show! Guess I'll be able to get some homework done....

And Grace is cut, leaving the two boys.

Sad that Grace went first. Oh well. I’ll hang on to see Murphy and Cassandra.

It still kills me that they always call All By Myself a Celine song. Maybe because I am a Cleveland Girl to my soul it will always be an Eric Carmen song to me.
I am shocked that Grace went out third, I thought it would be Willie.
I just loved seeing Murphy again, I love both of the songs he did, and man.. that smile.. a trillion watts! I am glad he got the chance to sing on the big stage tonight.
Cassandra and Lindsey Buckingham were so much fun. She looked and sounded great. It is amazing what being out of the contest can do for some, the nerves were gone.
Deshawn looked so happy when he took the stage with Chaka.
AND Graham, what can I say about him... lol.. I love him.
And I could flick Ryan in the ear for his "there will be beer" comment.. OY!

I'm not surprised, but am happy for Chayce that he won! Any of the three could have taken it and I'd be fine with it. And even though I get sick of the WGWG (white guy with guitar) always winning, and how the girls haven't won in too long, Chayce happened to be my favorite. I can't help it, I really like that raspy voice, so it's not what he looked like, honest! I've voted for women to win in the past, but this time around, compared to Chayce I just couldn't vote for Grace, so I know I'm part of the problem. Ya like what ya like, right? I agree, FireWoman, seeing Murphy was great. His little medley was fantastic, and the finger pointing by the judges was pretty interesting too (whose fault was it?)!

I've been watching this entire season but somehow I forgot that the finale was on tonight?? I caught the last 20 minutes of the show. Chayce is great, but I was really hoping that Willie would've won. I'm sure a few of them from this season will become pretty popular artists.

I too am a sucker for a southern tinged rasp! I am happy he won, I just hope he is able to make something of this as so many winners are not. I am sure we will see Grace somewhere that can showcase, and I mean this is the nicest way like a Jenny Lind or Sarah Brightman, not Mariah Carey way, her diva-ness. She is absolutely beautiful with a voice to match... she would be wasted on pop radio IMO. She really could be a true stage Diva and I hope her and Willie find their place. All three were wonderful in their own way.. I would have been OK with any of them winning.

Arthur Gunn was supposed to sing with Sheryl Crowe but two hours before airtime he bailed. Graham stepped up and performed instead.

Yeah I wonder why Arthur bailed like that? I would have taken the opportunity to get myself out there one more time.
I was kind of shocked that Grace was sent home third, but not at all unhappy that Chayce won. And I don't know why they keep pushing him down the country road, he always felt more Americana/singer-songwriter to me and not straight country - kind of like John Mellencamp, maybe? Either way, I hope he does well. I still think Grace would do best on Broadway.
I hope Ryan is kicking himself this morning for the dumb beer comment.

Yeah, HUGE faux pas on Ryan’s part. Luke, too. He doubled down on it.

I was very disappointd as my choices were the other two. However, all three were great within their genres and I hope that he breaks out of the history of the AI WGWG winner going nowhere. The biggest success was Chris D and he didn't win.

I hope Ava, Cassandra, Grace, and Murphy (Blind Boy Music) find success with their AI boost. Those were my favorites.

Once Cassandra and Murphy sang I went to bed. Just one question... did they ever at any point mention last year’s winner, Just Sam?

Once Cassandra and Murphy sang I went to bed. Just one question... did they ever at any point mention last year’s winner, Just Sam? Not that I recall hearing. I am not shocked to be honest after she came out and said Gunn's return was BS and she wanted "Willie Spencer [sic]" to win it all. Heck when Laine came back I was thinking what on earth did he do to AI to merit only a 2 min walk on.

Well to be fair, the way they injected him so late in the season was bonkers. Good luck, Chayce! The best predictor is past practice.

The was a photo released (on AI Instagram?) of Arthur and Sheryl and she was already in her stage costume. So it was really last minute. That won’t win him any credit in the industry.

Graham did do a wonderful job last second there I still luv that guy, popping up everywhere like he is Carmen San Diego!

He stated, with out further explanation, he left for personal and moral reasons. He did not blame AI and is thankful for his time with them.

There seemed to be an indication of confrontations. I wonder if other contestants were upset about him being there, or having gotten back into the competition or something? Didn't sound like it was an issue with the production or show. Maybe we'll find out someday, but maybe not. It could disappear like Just Sam!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXOBfZmGUdcClark Beckham spills some tea. Still no actual reason but the producers had some idea Arthur might pull a stunt so had asked Graham to be ready to step in if necessary. So Graham had at least practiced and learned the lines as an understudy. But it all appeared to be going well the night of the show until FIVE MINUTES before their live performance. Arthur refused to come out of his trailer. They grabbed Graham and there wasn’t even time for a costume change which they had waiting just in case.

Wow!! After spending a full season on AI, I cannot imagine what cultural/religious(??)/ whatever issue might cause him a moral concern. Good for Graham for saving them. It sounds like Arthur thought he would do some hurt to the show with five minutes left...no valid reason in my mind for that kind of tight pull back.

Oh my! After watching that it just tells me what a professional Graham is! The comment about Arthur being difficult to work with in the past is not shocking either given what WAS shown in the mentor clips about his refusing to take the feedback given to him. I did like him last season, but after his showing THIS season he is really coming off as a snowflake. Now, he may have real moral issues but if he is not going to give more detail, we can only infer what may have occurred and that is all on Arthur. I have a lot more respect for Graham that is for sure!
