'Portland-ia' - Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein task the chefs to create a dish using hipster ingredients, and vintage appliances. Then, the chefs must develop and create a recipe fit for a home cook. Dale Talde and Richard Blais join the judges’ table.
Enjoy the show!
ALSO: There is a 30-minute preview of Top Chef Amateurs on Bravo right after the show. I imagine it will be available at the Bravo website and on YouTube after that, and maybe on demand... (in fact tonight's recipe challenge may have been a kind of preview for it as well...)

I know nothing about Portlandia, on which this episode takes its name. It’s too bad that Portland is known now for riots and chaos. It looked beautiful during this season of filming.
I’m sorry that Chris went home. He was my favorite, since his restaurant is not too far from where I live.

I thought this episode was so much fun. I had a feeling that Maria and Gabe would do well in the EC. I am not sorry to see Chris go however, he should have gone a few weeks ago IMO.. bad pasta not just one time, not two, but three times! I also felt the bottom three were spot on, I honestly would have been happy to see any of them go, but Chris was past his time.
I did watch the preview of the Amateurs and I thought it was ok. I wasn't keen on the two contestants but I did like that they did do their homework and knew what to do or not do when presenting their dishes to the judges. I was shocked the one girl won given what was said about her second dish. I guess well cooked lamb and crappy rice pudding was better than missing rice and a well made, fun dessert.

I was too. That must have been so tough for him not to see him for so long.
Thank you for the link Provenceguy!
