That bottom three made me so happy. I wish that they would have sent all three of them home.

This episode did a nice job of getting things back on track. Boosted the confidence of some good designers who were questioning themselves and knocked a few inflated egos down to size!

I was letting my dog in and just caught that Katie seemed happily stunned by something the judges said, but then she wasn't in the top three, so I never was clear on what she was told that surprised and pleased her. Can someone catch me up?
Also, I could have been fine with all the three of the lowest scoring designers going home last night. I do think Bones is talented, but not so talented that he can afford to be so full of himself. I'd like to think what happened last night will make an impression on him, but I'm not sure that it will.
I hate saying this, but Christian is starting to wear on me, too. He's starting to seem a little more sarcastic and judgmental than is necessarily helpful in the mentor position. I guess I just prefer Tim's approach to that particular role.

They told her that she was not in the top three but that her design was really great and that Elaine and Brandon were very impressed with it.

I watched and was glad they left out all the personal drama and focused on fashion. It was fun seeing the haunted mansion.
I loved the top 3 looks. They were so dramatic I also had a hard time picking out a winner.
The guest judge was fun and excited by the runway. I really liked her.
All around a good show.

Can I just say when I see Octavio in background shots, I think he has a bloody nose or lip? That red mustache always shocks me and not in a good way.

It really was hard to choose a winner, but I was glad that Chastity (is that the right name?) won! The amount of handwork she did to sew each bit if lace in place was amazing, especially in the short amount of time they had

I agree. They all have been problematic.

So happy that Katie has found her stride, she is my favorite based on her Insta. Next week's challenge should be her's to win based on the fact that it's a print challenge.
Loved the runway, and I honestly didn't think Kenneth's was that bad. I had thought the red dress with the horns was going to be in the bottom. But Kenneth's previous looks were just horrible. I also question Bones's taste level.
Octavio is incredible, he is giving look after look, he seems like a winner to me.
I always say this, but I wish they would spend more camera time on the runway's looks.

I was surprised they each got to bring a fabric along with them -- has that ever happened before? It definitely played into the top looks, that's for sure. At first I completely agreed with Christian's perspective at Mood, with all the red and black. But, I would've chosen black too! LOL And black looks were definitely a hit! But at least he tried to push them a bit to try something unconventional. beerbelly, I didn't think Kenneth's was all that bad either. He had a reason for his design, a good inspiration piece from the mansion, and he fixed the uneven parts Christian told him to fix. The guy who didn't listen to Christian at all, then ended up in the bottom because of the exact reasons Christian explained to him, should've been the one going home. I don't know Katie from anywhere else, but her looks have been OUT there. The one in this episode though, inspired by creepy dolls, was a good interpretation and not so kooky. I liked it! It was nice to see her so happy to get compliments too. But if she continues to make bad 80's kids show outfits, like last week, she'll be booted! There are some very talented people on this season, and I'm looking forward to seeing more from them!

I really, really enjoyed this episode. I like how it was a new challenge that really made for some spectacular results; more avant garde than the last few avant garde challenges, actually. I loved how they got inspiration from the house for their work and it really showed.
A lot of excellent looks went down the runway and even those that were "safe" were great. I loved the top three and was especially thrilled that two of the ladies on the bottom the first week were up there, and Octavio's look was great as well. Both Christian and Tim have a tone that is slightly pointed when they want you to rethink the direction that you are going in, and poor Zayden was so caught up in his vision that it was only until the end he realized he misstepped with the material. He did seem very grateful for another chance, and I'm glad because I understodd where he was trying to go with the Marie Laveau vibe. Nina stated during the judging that some designers are young and need a couple of years to get "seasoning" and I agree with her, especially with Kenneth; I LOVED his materials and saw where he wanted to go but it reminded me a lot of my typography teacher telling me that I needed to "pay closer attention to details" because sometimes our current skillset prevents us from doing the effects we want to do. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have an internship with a house like Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen the way Christian did, and it makes a world of difference. He was almost there, but he needs some seasoning.

This episode was fun to watch! Chastity's dress was amazing not only for the lace and handwork, but how she was able to get the pleated fabric to wrap around her model the way it did. I feel like if I had tried that, it would have been flopping all over the place in a bad way! Katie has a style that is unlike anyone's there that is for sure. Like beerbelly, I follow her on Instagram. And I've purchased some of her fabric. She loves bright colors and is self taught as a sewist and designer. Many of the clothes she makes have big collars and details that I last saw in the 60's or 70's. My daughter's age group likes that retro look. I hope that Katie can stick around for a while so that she can learn more from this competition. Her mask on her look was great! She took her cutesy look to a startlingly creepy place!
