Watched both extended episodes. The trailers were better than the actual episodes. I do like the concept. Luv the dogs. The CIA guy trying to turn the FBI director's assistant was a bit much. Whenever politicians attempting to direct intelligence agents messes were made and for anyone to get upset, even indignant over a F..kup that happened 30 years ago is ridiculous. Depending on the current day policies what happened could be a good thing or a bad thing and switch up when a new administration is in power.

Wait until you hit Episode 3! I almost deleted the series during the first episode. So much violence! It picked up a little in Episode 2. And the third episode has me hooked! I had watched them one after the other!

Wait until you hit Episode 3! I almost deleted the series during the first episode. So much violence! It picked up a little in Episode 2. And the third episode has me hooked! I had watched them one after the other! The violence didn't bother me, they are not really showing blood and gore. What I found highly unbelievable is if this guy is a sniper why he didn't take out the two guys following him during that night scene during the premiere episodes, with a sniper rifle instead of hitting them with his car, damaging the car, hurting himself and then engaging in a very long drawn out wrestling scene with the remaining mercenary. Seemed all kinds of stupid. Episode 2 and 3. Oh, yeah I really believe the local police have the equipment, manpower, training, or budget to setup stops and take high quality photos of people in their cars at night from angels that are not from the police officer body cams. No way no how can this government organize anything that quickly, efficiently, or seamlessly in that short of a space of time. Even if that were possible the amount of raw data that would have flooded the FBI would be huge and even then I simply do not believe that all that data would have been fact checked, and put in a stack for the FBI director to look at in less then 24 hours. That is living in La La Land. On top of that the FBI Director arranged a hit on the subject and the hitman got organized and was able to get to the correct address in Pennsylvania in again less then 24 hours more like an 8 hour window stretches credulity. I also don't believe the hitman threw off an attacking rottweiler who had to weight a good 80 to 90 lbs one handed through a tempered glass door hard enough to kill it. Also I don't get why both dogs were not attacking the man. Then there are the flashbacks that are so bad and cringeworthy that I simply fast forward them. Then there is that CIA agent who threatens everyone, he is not all seeing, all knowing. I am amazing no one has either sliced his throat or shot him in the brain. I am highly recommending AMC's Dark Wind - a thriller which is way better than the drivel that is the FX's The Old Man and Paramount Plus's Joe Pickett.

There are a lot of layers to this show. And I must say it took me until episode 4 to finally recognize Amy Brenneman. Shame on meπ

I guess I really wasn't interested in going on in the series as I thought one of the dogs had been killed as they never really showed both of them together in episode 3 after the one dog got thrown through the glass door. I finally watched episode 4 and 5 yesterday and was glad to see that both dogs survived unharmed.
I still don't get why Michael Bote, The Old Man is really his nickname not Jeff Bridges character wants to hurt Dan Chase or Harold as he considers them his sons.
In episode 6 it looks as if Dan is starting to train Zoe.
I still don't get how Hamzah's lawyer knew that Harold had called in a hit on Dan Chase, someone had to have leaked that.
Who was the pregnant lady in episode 1 or 2? She was in the flashback scenes standing near Hamzah...his sister, or Belour?
