The United States of Challenge - (Premiere) Fan favorites from CBS reality television shows like 'Survivor' and 'Big Brother' compete in a new setting, while living in a constant state of paranoia and unable to trust anyone but themselves.
Enjoy the show!

It's already more fun than the premiere of BB!
I like so many of these contestants. They're looking GOOD too!

Shannon's crying already? Complaining about her body hurting before the game even starts, but hey, she knows she's a "bad bi#$%." /eyeroll/

Alyssa/BB23 wants revenge for being Britney'd by the Cookout, meanwhile X thinks she totally will have his back.

Some of these pairs seem very strong, and some just seem ... unfortunate. Do they always let them choose their own partners?

Azah may be a nice person, but she's such a lightweight. Kyland was so sweet to her. I really would like to see much less of some of these Love Island people (Shannon and Cash, mostly). "Kiss! Kiss!" How ridiculous.

I'm already getting agita seeing Kyland on my screen again. I don't think I can watch him again.

Kyland and Azah are in the elimination round. Tyson and Angela won this challenge plus $5000 each.

From now on, the pairs will be selected by a machine randomly.

From now on, the pairs will be selected by a machine randomly. That doesn't seem fair, but I guess it will keep it interesting for the audience. At least one team won't be able to run all over the competition, and others won't be "stuck" with a less desirable partner for more than one challenge. Azah looked like she barely did anything in that last challenge, except get tired out, but she sure celebrated afterwards like she dominated it! Sheesh. They sure have good music and fancy production on this show!

I wasn't particularly looking forward to this show and watched it mostly because I had watched BB and stuck around afterwards to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. It moved along much better than the initial episode of this season's BB, and I thought the twist at the end was good. It basically forces the players to get out of their little comfort zones and interact with people from the other shows, and it eliminates some of the advantages those from more heavily represented shows get. I'm sure the players aren't happy about it, but it may make for things more interesting for viewers, and if the show doesn't interest viewers, it's not going to last. Personally, I grow weary of shows where obvious alliances, regardless of type, pick off all the other players for the whole season because it just makes things too predictable. If I can see where the show is going for weeks on end, why bother to watch? I also like to see people who seemingly have nothing in common figuring out a way to work together toward a common goal. I think this twist might result in more of that.
I do wonder sometimes what kind of insurance the Challenge shows carry, however. So many of the challenges seem like accidents waiting to happen.

I’ve never seen this show, but I think the partners should be chosen at random. Some of these pairs have obvious advantages and that doesn’t make it very challenging. The way partners have been picked has evolved over the seasons, sometimes it is self pick, some times they can change it up, and sometimes production does it for them. I do like that they have an algorithm to do it. Part of the show is learning to work with a partner. Ahhh... the fond memories of Wes Bergmann and Casey Cooper during Fresh Meat (2006) where they got sent into elimination 5 times and Wes cussed her out the entire time with phrases such as "stupid bitch" and much worse. Thing is he picked her as a partner and he suffered for it the entire season. Very happy to see Tyson and Angela broken up as a partnership. Doesn't mean they cannot still work together in an alliance. Very happy to see the Big Brother realizes they can't dominate by sheer numbers.

Kyland and Azah won the elimination challenge. Cely and Javonny are out. For a second there I thought Cely and Javonny would win. Not the brightest bulbs in the bin.

It makes the politics and the strategy of the game way more interesting. The Challenge has been very good lately with its soundtracks, amazing Challenge houses, and amazing Daily Challenges. Totally luv'ed that the first Daily Challenge included math.

The big difference between this version of the Challenge is that all the cast are adults in their 30's plus with experience in reality TV games versus the cast on the original MTV Real World, Road Rules, Challenge cast who were college age, 18 and up, but mostly in their 20's who wanted to party, hookup, have a good time, and win some money.
Seeing Tyson so focused on the game already is intense. However, his plan to totally dominate the Daily Challenges and the game from Day one is going to be difficult with the new switching of partners. However, adapting to new circumstances, new twists and turns every couple of days is something that Survivor and Amazing Race folks are used to.
The format of Big Brother and Love Island is pretty consistent or does it tend to change?

Some of these people look sooooooooooo out of their element lol. I don't watch Love Island so I don't know who any of them are. I am glad they are gonna have different partners every ep, that will make things much more interesting.

First time watcher here. I’ve never seen Love Island so I don’t know any of those contestants. Several of my favorites are on the show. A few ‘meh’ players as well, but I can look past that.
I love the random partner thing. Otherwise, the show would get too predictable and boring.
I don’t fully understand how someone wins in the end, but I guess that will click in as the weeks go by.

Season 1 Episode 1 - "The United States of Challenge" - July 6, 2022
This is a 10 episode series plus the final. Don't know if the final will be one or two parts.
28 players started, with 14 men and 14 women. Looks as if there will be at least 4 teams in the final just based on the 1 team eliminated per week for 10 weeks then the final. I don't mind if there are more teams during the final it makes it more fun.

Loved the first episode! I watch Love Island and even follow some of the castmates on Insta and they just crack me up, I hope they get to stay for a while because I was cracking up when was everyone watching them dance and carry on. I mean, Love Island is so dumb that even the announcer makes fun of it.
I also love the switching of people/teams, Angela and Travis and the like would have dominated and it would be a bit of a snoozer. I was really hoping Cecily and Jovanny would have beat Azah and Kyland, much like what MF said up thread, it's too soon for me to heat Kyland again.

Love seeing my Big Brother and Love Island people together! Bummed Cely and Johnny got the boot. They are hilarious together and I like Justin/Cely dynamic. The Love Island girls dancing at the club had me cracking up! Azah surprised me. Girl looked like she was always on the verge of dying but she finished the job. I like the team switch ups! I read that there was juicy bits and drama but cast is not sure how much CBS will show. They will probably focus more on game. One thing was Cely tried to kiss Enzo at the club that night.
