Couple questions before Wednesday's bundle of joy arrives.......what is VPN some of you mentioned? Do I need it? I have CBS All Access. Do I still BB Viewer? What is BB Viewer exactly? Thanks. I have CBS All Access. Do I still BB Viewer? What is BB Viewer exactly? Thanks. Gotta get back to work. Bye. BBViewer is a program that lets us view the livefeeds without going to the CBS website in our browser. I use it because I can choose the quality/speed of the feeds - I choose a much lower quality/speed so that I don't eat through my bandwidth each month which I couldn't do on the CBS website. It also has a lot of other features that are very handy. You must still purchase ALL Access from CBS for them to show on BBViewer. If you have All Access and you can view the livefeeds on the CBS website (it currently has a countdown clock) then you do not need a VPN.

I live in Southern California and freaking dumb arse Time Warner/Spectrum/Charter (ya, they have 3 dumb arse names) now CHARGES for POP. Can you believe that? It started like 6 months ago. Oh and my town only allows TW/S/C or Direct TV. I am not interest in DTV. So I am stuck with TW....ugh

It appears that some are having problems this year getting BBViewer to work. Liquid8d is working on the issue. He posted this on his twitter account last week for people to try while he continues to look for a solution. I will watch his twitter and report updates when they are posted by Liquid8d. ===================================================== Update on #BBViewer: Currently, you should be able to see the pre-feeds countdown for BB20. However, many users have reported a "black screen" when trying to view it. The thumbs cam (T) will work, but (as it should be) there is no audio. First, you have to have a valid All Access subscription and be logged in. If you are in the US - you should *not be on a VPN, and if you are outside of the US, you *should on a (US) VPN. This is because there is geo-blocking on the primary cameras. If you have the "black screen" issue, the first thing to check is if the feeds work for you in the 'system' web browser - Internet Explorer for Windows and Safari for Mac. Go to the CBS website, login, and try to access live feeds there. If the feeds work in the browser, then you are affected with this issue. If they do not work, they will likely not work in the viewer either and is probably unrelated to this issue. I'm unable so far to determine why these users are having issues, while others are not. I have confirmed with some that the feeds are 'blocked', regardless of a valid subscription. Some users have reported that going through a US VPN allows it to work again. I'm working on testing some things, and will be busy this weekend. I may reach out to some of these users to verify if I can provide a fix. I'll do my best to have some solution before feeds start. Feel free to reach out to me if you have this issue, but I won't be able to help troubleshoot for now, please keep an eye on my twitter for another update. twitter.com/liquid8d

Make sure that you have removed all the cookies for Global TV (if you watched BBCanada) and CBS. I find that it is not just deleting your cache and that I have to go a little deeper. I have to do this if I visited the CBS website without my VPN on.
In Chrome I go into settings, privacy & security, content settings, cookies, see all cookies and site data, and use the search box to find in my case anything cbs.com but for you type in global and then delete them. Delete the CBS ones just to be on the safe side. It will mean when you go back to the CBS website you will have to log into All Access again.
Not sure if it will help you with the issue but it is worth a try.

Here are a couple more suggestions found on the internet. Again not sure if they will work but worth a try. ================================================================== www.whatismyip.com/ If this shows where you're really located and not Canada then it's probably a cookie or files stored on your computer from the VPN or something. support.google.com/chrome/answer/142065If you see that VPN or BBCA site listed here, delete it

Thanks for all the info Susan! I need to figure out to turn off my firewall. It's weird though because I watched Celeb BB on this computer just fine in Feb/March. So I'm not sure what changed?!?

You shouldn't have to turn off your firewall to use BBViewer -- that's a very risky thing to do that opens up your computer to all kinds of vulnerabilities. Firewalls can usually be configured to accept specific apps or websites if needed, but no one should operate a PC without a firewall.

I cleared cookies for CBS on Firefox - no luck. I changed browser to Chrome and had to re-sign into CBS - no luck. I'm not going to fuss with this anymore. If BBViewer works eventually for me - nice, if not, I have CBS.

No worries MFWalkoff it was only a test to see if the firewall was causing the problem. Didn't work anyways and I see that she has turned it back on.

I cleared my cookies and that didn't seem to help me either. Just gonna wait for a fix, hopefully. I'll use CBS at work anyway cuz I can't download any programs to my work computer.

For People (like myself) who were having issues with BBViewer...Liquid tweeted a solution! Hooray! Just in time Now I REALLY can't wait for tonight! VERIFIED solution: Disable IPv6 For Windows: - Open Network and Sharing Center - Click Change Adapter Settings - Right click your Network Adapter, select Properties - If IPv6 is checked, uncheck it, then click OK

Also her are Liquid8d's instructions if you use a mac
- Choose Apple menu. - Choose System Preferences. - Click Network. - If the Network Preference is locked, click on the lock icon and enter your Admin password to make further changes. - Choose your adapter - Click Advanced, and then click TCP/IP - Click on the Configure IPv6 pop-up menu and verify it is set to Off
Think you might see 'Link-local only' rather than off.

Okay, Just Juls, that fixed the problem, but how will that effect my computer down the road? Guess I'll wait and see if there is anything hinky then go back in and re-check IPv6. There is already and active IPv4 that is active.

It worked for me too and I also wonder what effect it will have on other things. An easy fix if needed tho!

I wondered that as well. But I also don't think Liquid would have us do something that would really affect our computers. But if you notice anything let us all know!

I see the IPv6, giving me the choices of Link Local, Manual, and Automatically configure. Mine was set to automatically configure, and that may be why the BB Viewer works for me. I also see that IPv4 is functioning as well Arielflies. It's working, so I won't question why. I'm just grateful there are no current issues for me. Now hurry up, I can't wait until tonight....6 more hours until live feeds start!

There shouldn't be a noticeable difference with IPv6 disabled...it's a newer protocol that will eventually be used by the majority of the web, but isn't yet. www.internetsociety.org/deploy360/ipv6/

I was having a really hard time hearing the feeds even with external speakers. Found this tip by googling and it helped greatly!!!! I can now hear the hgs over my air conditioner.
Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'. Left click the default device once to highlight it ( it's usually 'speakers & headphones' ) then click the Properties button. Click the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Loudness Equalization'. Click Apply to save the change.

Not sure where to put this, but I know many of the live feed posters complain about not being able to hear the whispering. At another site there is a link to a Chrome app that lets you maximize the sound. It is: link
