Drag Race moves from VH1 to MTV for season 15, with 16 new queens vying for a bumped-up cash prize of $200,000.
The new season premieres on MTV Friday, Jan. 6th at 8PM ET, followed by a new season of Untucked. This season's cast of queens:
Amethyst - West Hartford, CT Anetra - Las Vegas, NV Aura Mayari - Nashville, TN Irene Dubois - Seattle, WA Jax - Queens, NY Loosey LaDuca - Ansonia, CT Luxx Noir London - East Orange, NJ Malaysia Babydoll Foxx - Miami, FL Marcia Marcia Marcia - New York, NY Mistress Isabelle Brooks - Houston, TX Princess Poppy - San Francisco, CA Robin Fierce - Hartford, CT Salina EsTitties - Los Angeles, CA Sasha Colby - Los Angeles, CA Sugar - Los Angeles, CA Spice - Los Angeles, CA
A lot of Connecticut representation this year (my home state) -- in addition to the three queens listed from CT, Jax was also originally from there before moving to Queens NY.
One new casting twist this season - Sugar and Spice are twins!

Ratings are up after the move to MTV: ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Sees Highest-Rated Season Premiere In 6 Years With Move To MTV - DeadlineEXCLUSIVE: RuPaul’s Drag Race rang in its move to MTV with a ratings win. The Season 15 premiere was the highest-rated in six years with a 0.63 rating among the advertiser-targeted 18-49 demographic. That’s up 20% in ratings from the Season 14 premiere, which managed a 0.53 in the demo. It ranked as the No. 1 cable entertainment telecast of the day. The jump in ratings likely has a lot to do with RuPaul’s Drag Race switching networks from VH1 to MTV. The last time that the series switched networks — from Logo TV to VH1 — it saw a similar spike in ratings. MTV also generally performs better in terms of viewership and demo ratings than VH1, so it is possible that Season 15 continues to outperform previous seasons. Season 15’s premiere is actually the highest live + same-day rating of any premiere since Season 9, which was the first one to air on VH1 and got a 0.66 in the demo. For reference, Season 14 boasted an 8% increase in its demo rating, averaging a 0.46 vs. Season 13’s 0.42. Average total viewer count for Season 14 pretty much matched Season 13 (609K vs. 607K). Drag Race also ranked as the No. 1 most engaging cable reality franchise that year. On social media, RuPaul’s Drag Race was considered the most social program across all of broadcast and cable on Friday for the Season 15 premiere, excluding sports, according to MTV. It was the most social season premiere ever for the series with 1.3M interactions, outperforming the prior season premiere by 212%.

I was completely shocked at how many CT people there were! My father was a Nutmegger, and I will tell you, his family was so New England that any type of sashay would have blown their minds. (For example, my mother brought tortellini salad for a dinner, which they thought was very exotic. Lol!)

I'm watching the first season of Queen of the Universe on Paramount +..... OMG I love it so much! What beautiful vocals! I saw that a new season begins on March 31st, and wondered if there is a thread started? Or, maybe I am the only person watching and loving it?
Trixie Mattel (3rd Season winner of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars is one the judges).
