I think Dawn was at a considerable disadvantage in this episode of LCK for not having experienced the regular season Pub Crawl. She had no concept of what the judges expected.
I've also decided I'm not a fan of May.

Dawn looked so crestfallen that it was hard to watch. I didn't particularly like how May threw Dale under the bus, so I wonder why you dislike May, Amber.

Honestly? First, let's not forget our opinions are based upon the edit. Duh ... Second, let me complain that Bravo is referring to this as season 20 instead of an extra season of All-Stars. How dare they? Boo ... LOL Third, this season is truly the battle of enormous egos. To me, May lacked humility after winning the Episode 2 challenge and the childish way she handled the beginnings of the Pub Crawl team challenge. She didn't come off to me as professional. May and Dale or May or Dale had to have noticed the Scottish Egg breading was soggy. The edit implied Dale initially took charge; however, where the heck was May? Buddha and Luciana butted heads over potatoes, and Buddha disregarded Luciana's opinion that the potatoes were fine and prepared a different version. I don't recall that we learned which potatoes were plated, but I don't think it matters. In contrast, all we see of May and Dale butting heads early on and all we see thereafter is May recoiling and complaining. In other words, May is portraying herself as a victim. Boo ... LOL

Thanks for your take amber! It's true, where was May? She's a top chef, and she shouldn't be bullied into serving something she isn't 100% about, she commands a kitchen. That's what struck me when she called out Dale; it just felt wrong and, as you said, childish.
I would have also liked to have known whose potatoes were plated, but I assumed Buddah's.

Second, let me complain that Bravo is referring to this as season 20 instead of an extra season of All-Stars. How dare they? Boo ... LOL They do that with all the All Star seasons, so that it's not treated like a separate show for awards consideration. All Stars 1 was technically Season 8 and All Stars 2 was technically Season 17.
Other shows do it differently, like Drag Race All Stars is treated as a different show than regular Drag Race, so they actually compete for Emmy nominations/awards...

May seems to lack the necessary confidence to compete head-to-head.
In the end, Tom says the next LCK competition winner maybe rejoining the regular competition.

I'm happy with the winning chef of the rabbit challenge. Hoping this chef gets back in....yes next week would be good to send someone back to the regular competition! (Seems early, but I like it!)

This episode is two parts. The second part only begining and to be completed during the next episode of Top Chef.
Part one is extremely competitive. Luciana proved to be the weakest competetior being knocked out in part one.

Finally caught up with Top Chef and last chance kitchen. I have a feeling Begona will prevail, but I'm rooting for Dale who has hung in for three battles so far!

I thought they were ending LCK a little early this season, but this is a two-parter so that makes sense...
Both Luciana and Begona doing squab was a big mistake. Unless Dale totally screwed up his dessert, whoever made Tom's least favorite squab dish was going to go home.
I'm concerned that Begona flat out said she doesn't know how to make scones, but these chefs tend to surprise us. so we'll see next week. I was hoping Luciana would move forward, but now I don't really have a favorite between Dale or Begona.

They usually make it seem like one chef is going to struggle but that is the chef that usually wins, so that's why I think Begona will prevail. I watched Dale on Top Chef Canada. He was a young single Dad when he won and was a gracious winner. He 's done some good stuff on Canadian TV and has some great restaurants in his home province. I'm still rooting for him!😄

Fancy, fancy. This week's LCK determined which regular episode chef will continue and which will be eliminated to continue next week on LCK.

Man, both of those sandwiches looked really tasty but really? What is this season? While I can understand the whole British theme this season and why they picked the meal they did (it was something that could be prepared quickly) at the same time it's like "Sandwiches?"
Boo at my favorite Potato Girl going to LCK over Tom's budget busting a**. Normally I like Tom but when the combined food budget is £200 at Fortnum & Mason for everyone you don't use £160 of it for yourself (plus he used up a portion of the £250 Whole Foods budget as well). Every single chef on his team had to scramble to retcon their own dishes because of it, and that really wasn't fair. I didn't like it when Gabriel did it but at least he left enough money so the others could make their dishes.

Agreed. I love a sandwich, but if I have a talented chef at my disposal, the last thing I'd have them make for me is a sandwich. How about a chilled soup? I don't know. I just feel they are wasting these chefs' talents by doing these challenges. Still smarting over 1 hour to make tea sandwiches...

The U.K. has been trying to rebrand on the culinary scene for a while now, and I guess this show is a part of that. British food has a reputation for being bland and unexciting and a lot of people there prefer to eat the food of the folks they colonized rather than "traditional" food. So I guess it makes sense to have a lot of chefs from elsewhere put their spin on the more traditional offerings.

I believe the current Earl of Sandwich was a judge at the LCK table. The history, you know...plus sandwiches can be awesome.

That would have been cool, but the guest judge was Max Halley not John Montagu. Fun Fact however about the Earl, he and his son are directly involved with he sub place Earl of Sandwich... and oddly NONE are located in England, or near me sadly. Their stuff does look REALLY good. hehe.

I like this episode of LCK better than the corresponding episode of TC. The first time this season.

LCK has been overused and abused. If someone can just keep coming and going through a revolving door, it kind of loses its impact on the competition...
Just have one long season of LCK, winner of it comes back before the final 4, like the old days...

Sylwia was so cute, asking could she try their food and saying "now what did your Mama tell you?"
