Loads of talent this year.
I didn't enjoy some of their songs as much as other times I've heard them, but recognize they are super talented even if not my speed. I can't wait to hear Iam again.
Votes online have been entered!! I'll have to download the app to my phone again!

I just love Nailyah but I don’t see her having broad appeal. Everyone seems to love Iam and I think he’s a great , laid back kid with a smooth voice but I don’t see him with a huge career. You have to be really driven to get ahead. I want Matt to do well, but I don’t hear his name much. All the big voice ladies sort of run together for me. Tonight might have better performances. I remember Alejandro singing Yellow in Hawaii. It was magical. ❤️ www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBsred1BNSU

I thought just about everybody did a really good job and I would have trouble sending more than 1 maybe 2 home based on the performances. I am curious about the quality of singers tonight. If they all are as good as last night's singers, it will be tough getting rid of 3 more.
Enjoyed the mentor as he seemed like a genuinely nice person ( not that I ever heard of him).
Maybe I am shallow but I always thought that how you look is just about as important as how you do...and there were some majorly weak areas of dress and appearance.

I remember Alejandro singing Yellow in Hawaii. It was magical. ❤️ www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBsred1BNSU Oh I love her too... such a beautiful person, inside and out, with a voce to match. Her and her mom together always make me smile I hope she does well but there is a part of me who likes her enough to not want her to win.. I think she would do better if she did not. Same with Mr Matt. I love him as well but I dont see him winning which would benefit him more I feel. I like Iam a lot too. He has such an infectious vibe. I do not think he is this season's winner however. Overall they all did well, some better than others, and a couple stood out over everyone for me. I would not be sad if this was the end of the road for Haven, Zachariah, and Elise. Zachariah did better than he has in past but still not hitting me in any way shape or form, Elise is not special, too many like her, and Haven I felt was holding back on who she is. Now this can be hard to transition when you do so many of your own songs and now are doing covers... I think this is hitting her now. PJAE was only OK for me last night too. His make up was too distracting, made his skin look so sallow with that shirt. I am not a country fan by nature.. but I do love me some Chris Stapleton... this season I find I am swerving into that lane more and more with who I am drawn too.

So they did mention Paige being brought back but not a peep about the guy who dropped out. Weird.

Last night didn’t change my mind about any of them… Wé is my favorite. Just give Nutso a stripper pole already. 🙄

Interesting to see who goes home...Did not care at all for Nutso...I wonder what she does for work in real life, because she did look right at home in the stripper mode.
I am glad that Paige did such a great job...so much so the judges were laughingly (?) saying they may have made a mistake. The "explanation" as to Paige's return was minimal....still no reason given why every trace of the former contestant was removed.
I did notice that this show had more than a few people that I had almost no recollection of....the Hollywood week exposure certainly was not fair.

Wang April 18, 2023 at 02:09 PM EDT Beckett Rex confirmed the news of his departure from American Idol season 21 after host Ryan Seacrest announced the surprise return of previously eliminated contestant Paige Anne. Rex, who is the son of A Clockwork Orange actor Malcolm McDowell, shared the news Tuesday on Instagram Story. Though the 19-year-old made the top 26, Rex said he made the decision not to continue on. "I'm not going to say why I didn't decide to continue in the competition but what I will say is that it was my choice," he captioned a photo of himself with an Idol ticket. "I am forever grateful to my American Idol family and I will always look back at the experience with the utmost gratitude and fondness." Seacrest announced during Monday's episode that Anne, 16, would return after she was previously eliminated by the judges. "One of the top 26 decided to bow out of the competition so we turned to the judges' first alternate and gave her the life-changing news," he said. Rex's departure comes after contestants Kaya Stewart and Sara Beth Liebe decided to leave the show earlier this month. Rex — the son of McDowell and Kelley Kuhr and brother of director Charlie McDowell — did not perform in any of the episodes featured, but he released his third single, "Wildfire," last month. One of his singles, "Pale Blue Eyes," was inspired by none other than his famous father, who starred in the music video. "There is nothing more special for a parent to witness one of his children blossom into such an extraordinary talent," McDowell told PEOPLE last year. "It means the world to me, because the inspiration for it, apparently, were my eyes.... It was easy for me to react, because all I had to do was listen to the song and I teared up every time; it was very emotional for me. It is every father's dream."

I have 4 observations after Monday:
1. We Ani, sigh, love her even more. 2. WTAF was Noah wearing? 3. Some people, ok MOST people, should not attempt Billie songs in singing comps. 4. Nutso Busto, yeah.. it's a no from me dawg. Honestly not sure what scared me more about that.. the fact that she worked it like a dancer at an airport strip club or the fact she did that same performance as a 13 year old too. Yikes! Oy, for all that is good and right, please let America send her twerking out da door this weekend.

I am pleased that they are only getting rid of 6 people this week. Didn't they send a lot more home the first week in the last year or two? I also hope that they get rid of the judges picking three of whoever moves on. That was not very successful as America just sent the judges' picks home again the next week.

We Ani has been one of my early picks. She has an amazing strong voice.
