Up for a long episode?? In the first round, singing Keith Urban songs (I surmise), I thought Iam did the best. Megan was good, Colin was boring (and I usually like him). Colin looked "off" during the intro performance with PitBull too, like he was just out of it. Nervous, maybe? IDK. Lionel referred to his "attitude" now, and Katy said he's at 60% up from 10% when he first started, so, it makes me wonder. Now in the second round, Megan did great on Journey's "Faithfully" as a tribute to her hometown/state. She sounded so good. Jack Johnson introduced Iam at his hometown concert -- I LOVE Jack!! Hawaii looked awesome, and I liked that hashtag "IAMHome" too. His song for this round was fine, not quite as impactful as his first round, as I had a harder time hearing him over the background music and singers. Cool reggae beach song though.

Colin's hometown featured a member of Lynyrd Skynyrd (Rickey Medlocke) surprising Colin and then performing with him, which I thought sounded great. Simple Man is what he auditioned with, and he's definitely got it down! His second round song is a Chris Stapleton song, slow and moody. I liked it, and how it featured his voice more than the first song, and more than Iam's did. Colin has to work on enunciating though! He's a mumbler! One person is about to be eliminated here....

After a couple of uninspiring filler songs by Lucy Love with TLC, and then Zachariah with an old guy from REO Speedwagon, Colin is eliminated.
Well, we won't have another WGWG winner this year! This ends the run of the country boys.

I don't know a Jelly Roll, nor Lainey Wilson who is singing with him (and has the same problem with her /s/ sounds as Megan does), but it's a good song. Are either of them former contestants? Or just have albums coming out maybe. The lighting, or lack of it, really was annoying though - give them a spotlight, gosh. Next song, they bring out Oliver to sing with Jelly Roll, so that makes me think Lainey was a contestant and I just forgot about her? Oops, sorry. Oliver and Jelly Roll look like they could be brothers!
Kylie Minogue comes out next, and I guess I thought she was younger than she is (she's almost MY age! lol), but they pair her with Nutsa, and the two make a good team it seems.
Lionel is singing and playing piano now, as they show a montage of memories of the season on a screen behind him. Then they bring all the contestants out, wearing black/white/silver, to sing the rest of "Sail On" with Lionel. It's fine, but I just wish they'd get on with things here.

Oh my!! That song Iam sang with James Blunt was too much!! He broke down crying, since it meant so much to him and his dad, which then made me cry too! Wow. So beautiful, and so meaningful.

Lainey's Heart Like a Truck is a fave audition song of many female contestants on singing shows. I think I have heard it more sung by others that I have heard her sing it. She is a pretty much self-made, paid her dues, hard working, singer-songwriter who has never been on Idol. Happy Iam won and had to giggle about ow happy Oliver was too

I did like Iam's performances, and I thought he deserved the win of the final three. I thought We Ani still had the most talent, but Im sure she'll still do fine in the music world.

I am glad that we broke the WGWG pattern as it seemed like the country voters were ruining the show, voting for the young guy with or without talent. That being said, I did think that Colin was among the better guy country singers they have had. I am pretty sure he will make out ok as he is a cutey and can sing. What was with the tour bus though.... Was anything said as to why he had it---complete with his name on it....seemed a bit presumptuous.
I still did not like it that Megan went on and on about her lack of confidence and doubt in her talent when she had been on THE VOICE.

Not to mention she was 17 at the time, it can be a hard deal to manage at any age let alone 17. It was interesting to see so many old Voice people on this season.. Megan, Marybeth Byrd, Wé Ani, Michael Williams, and Malik Heard. A few i remembered and can see some of the growth...I feel there is more of that hands on mentoring there, and its lost at AI.
