The Fame Games Variety Extravaganza - They're back! The eliminated queens return to the workroom and read each other to filth before showing off their charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent one last time in the Fame Games Variety Extravaganza. Comedian Ego Nwodim joins the judges' panel.

Fun show! I enjoyed seeing my favs back, and everyone gave great performances. Nashya, Kahanna and especially Lala were my favorite performances. MKD also gave an endearing performance with her “little bit like a rap” style book syncing, and, Mrs Davis also won the weeks mini challenge. Condragulations! It’s probably just me, but it seemed like Kandy was stealing the cohost job introducing so many of the Queens in the talent show. I know Jimbo did introduce some, but it felt like Kandy was doing most. Kandy makes herself the center of everything, she does project well, but does not pronounce as clearly as Jimbo. I cast my Queen of the Fame Games votes. We have 10 votes, I split mine giving each of my favs one vote and the rest went to Lala who’s performance was outstanding. Voting ends Sunday, so watch and vote!

Jimbo probably wasn't as interested in reading corny intros on cue cards with fake enthusiasm, and probably let Kandy run with it, lol.
A lot of this was fun (thanks and only thanks to the queens themselves), but this whole competition is such a mess, and this season has just felt off to me. I'm ready to just let Jimbo get crowned and be done with it. I kinda don't care who wins the Fame Game, because it's up to whoever has the most rabid fanbase. It's the reason the Miss Congenialty stopped being decided by the fans and started being decided by the queens instead. Valentina winning MC was the final straw.
The good side of this ep was that the queens got more exposure than they normally would. But that will change even more next season when they switch the format to AS7's Legend Star, and no one gets eliminated.

I don't understand some of this season changes. Well, some are because the network seems to find same old, as same old = boring and loss of viewers. But, I felt misled into thinking viewers would chose the Fame Game Queen, when really it was just going to be RuPaul choosing our F2. Fortunately, I loved LaLa's performance enough to not mind her spinning 3X votes.
I too, enjoyed the Met Gala because it's their chance to showcase themselves, and their careers. I remember watching the old movie, "To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar" and thinking, I would love to watch Queens perform in person. That movie is still one of my favorite movies. Patrick Swayze as Ms Vida, John Leguizamo, as Chi Chi, Wesley Snipes as Noxeema... such an endearing story. Which is why I started watching the Drag Race series. I just hope Paramount does not drop it as they did Queens of the Universe. This is reality TV which is needed to educate, or at least plant seeds of awareness.

Drag Race is still going strong as a global franchise, and the main show does well in its new home on MTV. It's not going anywhere.
The thing that changes over the years are the spinoffs like All Stars. There's been Drag U, Celebrity Drag Race... All Stars has lasted the longest. And they're already filming All Stars 9.

I'm glad to hear that. After Queens of the Universe, showcasing such talented Queens was not picked up on Paramount, I had wondered. We haven't had satellite or cable in 10 years, but we do enjoy Prime, Netflix, Apple TV (thanks to Tmobile), and Paramount +. I'm glad to know MTV is carrying the series!
