Sigh....I have to say I am glad the group dates are over. The 1-1s went well, but was there a single group date that didn't end in controversy and squabbling that bubbled over onto Becca, causing her anxiety or tears? We expect guys to be aggressive and competitive, but to borrow a well-used phrase from them, "The wheels came off," when it came to the group dates. It began to wear on me, too .

Chris apparently didn't like what he saw when he watched himself on TV and has issued an apology for his poor behavior via his Instagram account. I'll see if I can find the link and post it.

He can blame( or lay some of the blame) on his handler, they push and push..and the bachelors really don't know what they are coming across as. I liked Chris, then it all got very silly

Here's the link to Chris's apology. He's all about taking responsibility, which is good. There's something a little over the top about it that bugs me a bit for a reason that I can't quite put my finger on. But good for him for not blaming anyone else, since there's no doubt that, like Fanny says, his handlers certainly deserve some credit. Chris's apology on Instagram

Death threats and comments about his mom??! What the hell is wrong with people? Acting like an entitled ass on a tv show doesn't warrant all that nonsense.
Anyhow, glad that he owned up to his behavior. Hopefully he learns from it and makes a change.

Are we going to see him on BIP? Is he on that list that is already floating around the internet? If so, it is (1) in his best interest to clean up his image the best he can before he is shown on BIP acting more civilized, and (2) in his interest anyway, to accept responsibility, apologize, and let people know he is not a total jerk.
***** Nick, the blond trainer posted somewhere a couple of weeks ago that he is meeting some of the guys for a fun weekend hangout type thing somewhere. Chris's name was on that list!
That re-enforces the idea, to me, that the producers manipulated a lot of it, and the guys knew it - at least in retrospect....they were there, too. That said, Chris had those tendencies inside for them to manipulate, and that is probably why he is apologizing.
I won't be surprised if we see and hear him apologize at the Men's Tell All as well.

I give him points even if he is just showing the good judgement to do damage control for his image before he goes on BIP although I would hope he would apologize because he knows it is the correct thing to do.

First off, he referred to "emotional intelligence" in his apology. I will never hear that term and NOT think about Taylor (from Nick Viall's season) Perhaps he's aiming for something bigger than BIP with his apologies...maybe he would like to be the next Bachelor at some point?

Personally, I can think of a LOT of other guys who I'd rather see as the next Bachelor!

The question was asked, "Why Richmond, Virginia?" It might have indeed had something to do with Jason having a 1-1 date, his friends, etc., or...it could have had everything to do with this little goodie: according to a an article on Google quoting large portions of a Richmond paper followed up by tweets from Chris Harrison and the Bachelorette with the picture of Becca and some picture of the state's slogan, The Bachelor was paid $536,000 to film the episode in Richmond by Virginia tourism officials.
The show was required to mention the state's "Virginia is for Lovers" tourism slogan and link to the state's tourism website online, according to the Associated Press. The Tourist officials said since the Bachelor series averages around 6 million viewers, their software indicated their publicity value return was in the neighborhood of $47 million.
Now, we knew when the Bachelor travels to their destinations, their accommodations are free in exchange for showing the names of the places, etc. I am now wondering if some of these other places are actually paying the Bachelor as well - similar to Richmond - and we just did not know it?

I knew it! I knew somebody's palms were greased by the Virginia Tourism people. So, if this happened with the Virginia episode, has this happened with other other places they have gone? I am not in the financial field, but it does make sense. They have to have destinations to make the show interesting to viewers. If the producers can make money to help them operate, and the visiting sites feel like their return is in tourism publicity, then it is a win/win proposition. It is a bit of an eyebrow raising moment. So very, very behind the scenes secrets have been revealed over the years one way or the other either through former contestants themselves, interviews with former producers, relatives of contestants, sleuthers, and even Realty Steve - regardless of what people may or may not think of him. This little more or less common sense tidbit is just now coming to light, and I am wondering, "How did we not know this for so many years?

I don't think it's all that awful a thing to do. It makes financial sense for all involved. The show gets some money & expenses paid or provided free, and the location gets some advertisement that would cost them a lot more otherwise. I do think that at the end of the show a sort-of disclaimer should be shown & spoken saying something like: "Accomodations, locations & other expenses were provided by the Virginia Tourism Board" while showing a scene of the location. It would show transparency for the show, and an extra little reminder of the location. Trying to make it look like they just happened to randomly pick the location is stupid & not convincing.
